- I absolutely LOVE my Ghost Bikes Enduro MTB however I decided to upgrade the rear shock from a coil to a Fox DPX2 air shock....
It's true that both types of coil or air shock have their benefits but with hitting big dirt jumps in mind through winter I decided to install my new fox Kashima shock and take my enduro bike for a test ride.
I started on the perfect dirt jumps at Twisted Oaks bike park where the bike was preforming insane before heading to the streets and hitting some urban free ride and trails lines!
My bike is a Ghost Bikes Riot EN Full Party that is fully customised with upgrades from my sponsors Halo Wheels, Gusset Components & Schwlabe tyres.
I hope that you enjoy the video! :)

Yo! Sick af opening trick
Great video tom.
Thanks!🤟
that was sickkk
Another brilliant video, well done team Tom. 150 psi front, and 250psi rear is golden info for lots of your fans, and very generous of you to share, but with body weight being so personal, is there any chance of some perspective, moving forwards, such as "gives me x % sag", or "is a x% rise". 😎
Thanks mate! So I weigh only about 10 stone and running the suspension as stiff as I do it have hardly any sag but on my normal setup I would have around 100psi offering around 20% sag
Amazing, thanks for sharing, body weight is always a touchy subject, lol. Being north of 110kg, I might need to shop at tractors r us to achieve similar characteristics, lol, but very useful 😊
Jumps to urban trials is always a great choice. How are Tom's dismount skills? He's like a cat always landing on his feet. Kara's going to be thinking of new challenges for sure, the pole spin is too easy for Tom. The air shock certainly seems to work well on both the jumps and the trials. Awesome video.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!🤟
What you are gonig to do for the Tom pund? I mean, you are going to build a new one?
If I can find some land dude!🤟
I still don't fully understand it, I already have quite a bit of experience with jumps, but it seems like a soft progressive set up, especially when I do hop bar on enduro, it seems easier with soft suspension
That could work and if that’s what you are used to then that is good but stiff bikes generally jump better hence why a DJ bike is a hard tail 🤟
Same I run my bike mega soft and I love it
as a new rider in MTB currently have a hard tail but making a move to full sus, what a good all rounder shock ? spring or air ?
It all depends on if you want to ride jumps more or DH. As an all rounder I would say the air but if you do lean slightly more towards DH then a stiff coil!
Probably air I reckon, Warley bike park is my local and thats full of jumps, but I kinda like to try everything out
An all-rounder? That has to be the air shock. Modern air shocks are 95% as good as coil for DH, the only time I'd prefer a coil shock would be extended downhills such as you'd find in the Alps where air shocks may get a bit hot. For any other type of riding air shocks are better because they are lighter and more adjustable. No doubt someone will disagree with me but FWIW I run a coil shock on my enduro bike and air on my trail bike so I'm not a fanboy of either.
@@bdot4988 air for around this part of country is perfect!
@sandy_knight probably made my mind up then 🤙 I doubt I be doing any long down hill trails much, at the grand ol age of 30 i wish I'd taken this up sooner only been riding mtb 6 months
Tom
