Diana, Charles, even Harry's grandmother's sister, Margaret went to therapysts regularly. Prince Edward and his wife, Princess Anne's children all had regular jobs. Medieval Prince Harry would’ve had a much more interesting story. They would’ve called him something like Harry Flamebeard (or Harry of the Frosted Tip by his foes) and after being exiled and marrying a common-born foreigner he would’ve mustered up a bunch of mercenaries and second-born sons and return to start a (probably disastrous) civil war in England against William the Bald for the throne of King Charles the Adulterer.
Fortunately now exiled nobles can just vent their frustrations with weed and podcasting.

I can almost guarantee William has a similar view of Harry. Their fights are very reminiscent (however a lot more shallow, probably because they’re also a lot more privileged) of the fights between my sister and myself. It mostly just speaks to a very traumatic childhood where they were probably pitted against each other as often as they banded together against their family. They don’t have enough trust in each other so everything is a perceived slight. It’s really sad because the real enemy is the system.

I thought the same thing when I read that bit where Harry gleamed that he was "right" about William being envious that he got to keep his beard while William couldn't. Even Harry himself, in a moment of probably oblivious self-awareness, admits that they were raised differently from a certain point because he was allowed to "indulge" whereas William was held at unattainable standards. That's one bit in his book that I believe to be true and it's not hard to see as being the truth because we also somehow saw it in the way the two of them were presented and painted as by the media - William, the heir, always appeared as quieter, more reserved and somewhat similar to his father. Harry, the spare who will probably never reach the throne, was always the more fun, free-spirited brother and more similar to his mother. I really don't think it's far from the truth that they were raised differently and maybe even pitted against each other, either.

Given that through history, princes usually assassinated each other in the bid to the thrown - heck, even mothers weren’t spared. It’d be of no surprise if these two, in spite of being raised in the “modern era”, were assigned their “crown prince” and “spare” roles from birth, and reminded of the huge difference between their worth to the monarchy. Perhaps if Diana was still around then all of this would have been different. Sad, really.

My parents were married for 5 years when they had me). While I’ve never thought the joke was funny and don’t really enjoy this particular running bit of hers, I know she doesn’t mean any harm in these moments. lol right, I don’t even like William (I don’t like any of them tbh, the monarchy is useless), but from William’s perspective there’s so much pressure around him and Harry doesn’t seem to get that being the spare isn’t nearly the worst position to be within the institution.
Harry should’ve understood William got the most “perks” almost as a compensation because one day the weight of it all will be on his shoulders, for better or worse. The spare has the option of finding his own path and the knowledge that the scrutiny over him will ease with time when the heir’s heirs get older and the attention goes onto them, while for his brother it only gets worse as his role becomes more relevant overtime.

We also know that Harry was a MAJOR party boy. He was deep into the rave and clubbing scene, drinking heavily and doing drugs. What does he think William was doing while he was letting his freak flag fly? William was being moulded and hardened to endure the role he'll inevitably fill one day. He didn't have the luxury to jet off to Ibiza and go on a bender. He has had to very closely monitor every single thing he has done since he was young because the public need to revere their future king. Harry doesn't even realise that he has lived a lot more than William has.

Honestly I feel sad that Prince Harry would have to resort to writing a "tell-all" story basically stripping himself naked (again) and now stripping the whole royal family naked to put on a show just to make money. I mean he's used to stripping naked but other family members might not. Up until this time, I have always had the biggest respect for Prince Harry, I feel he's a very genuine person, who's courageous and not afraid of being himself and compassionate towards others and is very personable and relatable even though he's a royal person and I was willing to ignore some of the crazy things that he did. I was extremely disappointed about his decision to relinquish his royal duties to live in the La La land with his wife and I always thought it was his wife' that had unduly influenced him. Now I know even though his wife is a piece of work but Prince Harry himself is just ridiculous and so self-indulgent and out-of-touch with reality. He is supposedly seeing a therapist. If this is the best of what he can do after seeing this therapist, he needs to fire his therapist. His therapy is clearly not working.
Seriously I have never known and understood the meaning of "spare" in terms of subsequent children. So according to him, any subsequent children that two parents have after the firstborn are all "spares" that in case if the first child dies, then the parents can still have other children there? And what about the third or fourth or youngest children, they can all grow up with self-pity and be bitter about everything and especially their older siblings because they are what the spare of the spare of the spare of the spares? It's ridiculous. He has so much to offer with so much experience including real combat experience and all he can think of to make money is just to write a trashy "tell-all"?
