Tawnku Imi-Uru my thoughts exactly. Even being a Dodger fan I Feel the same about guys like Crawford, Lindor, Arenado, and Machado which are the best defensive infielders in baseball bar none.

Daniel Martinez Yeah. I am a Phillies fan, so I really dislike the Braves. But despite that Freddie Freeman is my favorite first baseman for that reason (not to mention he's a really good player).
Freeman is a joy to watch. He is a well rounded 1st baseman that any team would be lucky to have.

Good point! Why does the 11 O'clock sports news always just show homer after homer? Nothing exciting about watching a ball go over the wall. I rather see defensive gems like these or great outfield throws or catches.

What's really scary now is that Simmons has started to become an offensive force as well. He had 7+ WAR last year. That's JUST outside MVP territory. I realize he won't ever win it because defense doesn't get the respect it deserves, but DAMN.
P.S He is on pace for around 9 WAR this season. That *IS* MVP level.
I wouldn’t word it quite that way even though you’re right in a sense. Swanson is a stout kid and Albies... Ozzie is just something else. It all worked itself out

Search 'Trout turns two with help of some trickery'. Great heads up deke the baserunner play by Simmons. He's such a beast, he set the record for defensive wins above replacement in 2013. He might be one of the most under appreciated baseball players ever.

Albert Pujols is the leader in hitting into double plays every year. While Simmons is the leader in turning them.
Most players take the field looking to play defense. Simba takes the field looking for outs, and he finds them where most never think to look.
We're gonna miss him for sure. Hands down top 3 defensive SS of all time.

Dansby’s offense makes up a little bit. Defensively you won’t see many like Simba ever. His relays from the cutoff spot were my favorite plays to watch.
Exactly, Dansby holds his own but Simmons makes plays no one else can make. Hes ALWAYS in the right position.
This dude is the least praised player in the games history, point blank best defensive player ever IMHO. He just makes it look so easy.

andrelton was honestly the only reason for me to watch braves games after chipper retired. now i just mildly follow baseball, braves are gonna be lit in a few years tho so i'll get back into it

And I use to be a big Ozzie Smith Fan when he was Playing Now I am a big A. Simmons Fan He has since been traded to the Angles, Bad loss for the Braves I think etc.
Ozzie is actually a great comparison as far as creativity and magic defensively but Simba has a much stronger arm.

Why did the braves have to trade Simmons. He was a great defensive shortstop. In my opinion, he’s way better than dansby swanson. If the braves has him still instead of Swanson, him and Albies would’ve been a great duo.
