- We spent the night at Jumbo Rocks Campground this March 2022! Weather was ideal for daytime hiking and nighttime sleeping. Well, except for the wind, but even that was just fine.
This video covers, how to drive to the campsite, how to find a campsite and reserve a spot on line, and what to expect when you arrive. There are many trails that you can enjoy within the Jumbo Rocks Campground, so you can literally park once and enjoy all that Joshua Tree offers in one bountiful location!

I stayed at jumbo rocks in the mid '90s. There was a huge bolder on either side of the camping spot with a table and a fire pit. It was very private. My friends and I explored all over the place. I really enjoyed the wonderland of rocks. It was easily one of the best camping trips I've been on.
That is completely helpful. I was thinking about Joshua tree camping for a long time but had no guidance. Now I can go within couple of months

Thanks! I’m not sure about car camping as although you do get 2 parking spots for each site reserved, most parking spots are adjacent to each other or the road, so you wouldn’t get much space or privacy. But you may have seen the part of the video with the drive thru and noticed there are a few nice sites that have RV sized parking, and you can filter on the website for the site #’s that have the RV/trailer sized parking

Nice! The campers next to us at 55 had a tent and it looked like 55 was more flat than our site and looked great too (there is a view of their tent next to the rocks at the 3:17 point in the video). You can also access the trail that is right behind the rocks! Happy trails!
Could I sleep in my car there ? If I don’t have a tent ?
Yes you could do that, though there may be cars parked next to you depending on the campsite #. Each campsite has 2 reserved parking spots from what I observed
@@FilmloveIs there any tent spots you can pull your car into? I have a panoramic roof and plan to sleep/cook out out of my electric SUV (Rivian R1S). I’d prefer not to park it in the parking lot.
