Glad you guys can enjoy the city of Surabaya. Next trip you are planning to go to, Yogyakarta. Province of sultan kingdom one of the province that reign by sultan as a governour. Food in Yogyakarta are sweet but balance with other flavour like Gudeg, Bakpia (with many flavour of choices), and there's a lot of tourist attraction too. Building of empire that called "Keraton Ngayogyakarta, Dutch Fortress, Taman Sari, Malioboro Street, Borobudur Temple, Prambanan Temple, art craft like batik, old traditional local market, becak (who actually bike with seat infront) and a lot of art street at Malioboro. I ensure you will enjoyed in that city.

You are missing some popular places in Surabaya (Alun-alun Surabaya, take a boat on the river, Zhangrandi Ice Cream) and typical Surabaya food like Rawon, Sate Klopo (Coconut Satay), Rujak Cingur, Lontong Balap, Tahu Campur).
Why don't you go to Malang after from Surabaya ???

I think, it depends on what you mean by "ice cream". I feel like the "guava ice cream" here is rather like, grated frozen guava smoothies
But i ve seen guava ice cream (the one with milk and cream) being sold in some supermarket or even franchise store.
We have something original tho. The home made coconut milk ice cream.
The coconut milk replaces the milk in that ice cream (back then during the dutch colonial era, we used to be so poor that we couldnt even afford milk).
We call it, "es dung dung" or "es tung tung" in central, east jawa (java), and jogjakarta.
I think, people in the capital (jakarta) call it "es puter".
I barely see it nowadays. But, perhaps somebody in village/countryside still sells that ice cream.
