We also see a very conflicted Elizabeth having a heart-to-heart conversation with Rosemary about her feelings for Lucas AND Nathan. 'When Calls the Heart' airs Sundays on Hallmark Channel.

Lucas is the reason Elizabeth is even writing again. She is so afraid of failure that she needed someone to believe in her to push her over the edge so she would have to fly. That was what she has wanted all her life. Lucas knows her better than Nathan. Rosemary knows it too

I have enjoyed all the comments but as far as the saloon goes because it's a family show it's not like the saloons of that period. Women play a dominant role in the show and that was not common for that time period either. Lucas said when he first met Elizabeth that he could read people. With that being said he knew she was afraid to have her work read by anyone because she was told no in the beginning. He thought her work was good so he sent it to an expert his mother. To instill confidence in what she was writing he gave her the letter his mother wrote her. When the publisher called she was still afraid it would be no. Lucas helped her realize a dream she has had all her life. Lucas does make her happy. Elizabeth makes Lucas want to be a better man so they enrich each other. She knows a lot about Lucas and he knows a lot about her. I like Nathan as a mountie but he has a lot of secrets too. I don't think he even knows Elizabeth came from a wealthy family. Plus Elizabeth didn't have closure with the way Jack died so I think that her connection to Nathan is to hold onto Jack

Yeah, Lucas is very nice to look at and clearly knows how to whoo a woman but remember when he came to town he was shady. Although people can change. Plus I don't see him as step dad material.
Lucas wants to help Elizabeth and make her grow and spread her wings while Nathan wants Elizabeth to stay put and just please him. I think it is a very easy choice... because at the end of the day Nathan might throw another tantrum if she decides to publish her book and maybe travel for the book while Lucas would support that 100%.
Nathan is protective not controlling. He will let her accomplish her dreams.If he was sad it's because he thought that she was dating Lucas and not because he doensn't want her to go to a reading.

Lucas is too pushy,he doesn't understand boundaries.What he did was so wrong,he should have ask her, it's not his writing. And i find him a bit manipulative too : he knew that she would say no, he sent it anyway and now he says that's what she wanted. I heard people said he did that because he loves her, but you can't control someone in the name of "love".I hope he never does that again.

I agree and it's not the first time he's been manipulative. He throws Nathan under the bus so to speak whenever he gets a chance. He knew Elizabeth would have a hard time saying no to the tickets to an author she respected. Plus I believe he does things with an ulterior motive, not just to do it because it's right or nice.

I love this show but hate they killed off Jack and Lori got ousted.
Wasn't the shows fault! I'm sure they didn't want him to leave as there r so many fans but he wanted to go! It was his idea to kill him off knowing fans would never believe he would leave Elizabeth or hurt her! They could not keep him when his contract was up! On the Lori bring let go she brought that on herself & too much distraction & too much for her to deal with! She was wrong & has paid for it so she may come back is what I hear! End game is they will take the show in the direction they want but they do listen to fan feedback which is why I hope she picks Lucas! He wants Elizabeth to soar & she can with him! Here it is several years later .... Elizabeth & Lucas have built a beautiful, loving relationship. Little.Jack has built a strong bond with his buddy, Lucas. They have both declared LOVE for each other......Lucas has proposed with help from Little Jack & Elizabeth said, 'Yes to it all.' Then tragedy hits!! A new show runner, Lindsey, comes in & blows up the whole storyline. It's bad enough that her & the writers wrote a completely, out of character script for a breakup, but they insult our intelligence by expecting us to believe the idiotic dialogue that took place. The beauty of Seasons 8 & 9 just flushed down the toilet like they never happened. To add to the stupidity of the change, Elizabeth says she made the wrong choice & is unable to give Lucas her 'whole' heart! Say what?? Did the show runner & I watch the same show? Well, TN is happy because now after 2+ years of Elizabeth going around town showing affection towards Lucas, Nathan is probably, finally going to get a 1st date with Elizabeth. I hope Nathan can be happy living in Jack's shadow...well, that's another storyline the writers can run with. Brian Bird & Erin apologized to the fans that are unhappy with the engagement breakup, again, I'm insulted. We know feelings change & breakups happen but if Season 10 had been written a little more intelligently showing their feelings were changing, we still wouldn't be overjoyed but the breakup might have made sense. Sorry I'm still ranting...just can't believe the Season 10 Finale. Not anticipating Season 11 at all.

Yes, Nathan blew it in my opinion. Up on the mountain he told her to stay in the cabin and Elizabeth left therefore disobeying him. That was Elizabeth's bad and he apologized. He should have made her accountable for this and he didn't instead he apologized. Not good and not strong on his part.

So true. The show is really down playing the whole saloon atmosphere. It usually draws a bad element with all the drinking and gambling and where are the saloon girls? They are treating the saloon like a restaurant that allows card games.

I don't see the sense that Elizabeth has a new romance with Lucas or any other character. I hope that hallmark returns the series the character JAKE THORTAN. as his body was not found they could return it at the end of season 7 as well as the character abigail. the series is meaningless with the absence of these 2 characters.
As much as I love both these characters and agree with your comment Daniel Lissing has moved on and does not wish to return. Lori Loughlin is in trouble with the law and I think was fired, so Abigail can't come back, sadly 😢
