Agreed, but I wonder how much of this is out of necessity. This is a young woman with limited life skills, due to being shut away from the world - either by her mother for the entirety of her childhood, or due to serving time in prison. Those are the only two realities she's ever known. As her release date loomed, I imagine she panicked over how she was going to support herself and survive on her own - and two opportunities came knocking. One was a husband (an idea she clearly clung to if there were two in the running) and the other was the media, who I imagine offered sums of money that were probably pitiful in the grand scheme of things (they will have made a huge amount off of her), but to her, in that position, probably felt and sounded like a huge amount - like a lifeline. Then she's got out, realised that she has to promote those projects in order to get paid, so the public eye was not an option, been the focus of the media and the paparazzi (in part, due to those media projects), and had to just handle it with minimal support - because she doesn't seem to have anyone around her who isn't trying to make money off her. If she's smart, she'll take what she's made, pay for therapy with it, and settle into a quiet life - but I'm not sure the people around her are going to let their cash cow retire until she's been milked dry, which is heartbreaking and a continuation of the ab-se she went to prison to escape. It's awful to watch, isn't it?

At this point, she needs privacy but a lot of the people around her stand to gain a lot of money by pushing her into the spotlight, so there's every reason to think that all of this isn't her idea and that she may well be being pushed into being public, rather than choosing it. It's also the only place she's ever experienced anything resembling love, so she might be drawn to that element - especially if nobody around her cares enough to teach her the realities of fame and social media. To truly choose (or give consent) to something, you have to fully understand it - and her life has been so sheltered, that I'm not sure she does fully understand what she's getting herself into.
I don't mean to sound terrible but she's kinda the reason she is in the spotlight if she didn't go posting everything on social media and lived her life quietly people would've forgotten about her. She's just a girl playing games now and yes she does need therapy lots and lots of it and maybe needs to be looking at the single life for a bit instead of dragging people into her mess
I’ve wondered about that and IF I played devil’s advocate I might say that these men relate to her in some way. Maybe coming from an abusive mother themselves… maybe. Also, if I keep playing devils advocate for Gypsy too, I’d say that it definitely takes living with someone to truly know them. She got out, moved in with Ryan, and if she realized that he’s not the man she really wants for the rest of her life then I say that’s understandable. She absolutely needs to slow down a little and ACTUALLY spend time getting to know herself, instead of focusing on men and fame. I don’t think she’s evil, but a bit full of shit. Like most people lol

Gypsy was always gonna be weird. She spent her whole childhood being abused and then grew up in prison, weirdo men preying on her sending letters because they get off on the fact that she committed a crime rather than actually getting to know her. She has never had a normal social life either. She's just gonna be weird. And given that social media is so prevalent in our lives and people are all up in her face trying to see what she'll do next we're all just gonna see her adjusting in weird ways.

I don’t want to make excuses for Gypsy or her family, but for a bit of context- I am from Houma, Louisiana which is about 30-45 minutes from Cut Off where Gypsy and her family live… a lot of people around here are like that about social media. It’s a small town, everybody knows everybody, and it isn’t uncommon to share family problems on social medias like Facebook where EVERYONE can see it. I don’t think they’ve quite grasped the scope of just HOW many people are looking at Gypsy and her life. In their heads, even though they know there’s people from all over looking at Gypsy, they’re still defending her honor from the guy down the street if that makes sense. At least that’s how I see it. We aren’t known to be meek and quiet down here lol.

Knowing how Gypsy grew up, it makes sense how someone who didn't get the chance to develop strong attachment skills would bounce from one person to another so fast. It makes perfect sense why she would attach so fast to someone who shows her an inkling of attention and care. This is a cycle she'll continue until she gets the mental help and skills she needs to put an end to it. I know from experience, it's hard work but you can do it.

I’m sorry there have been multiple right flags with Ryan. One was that he wrote her as a dare to how he kind of put her down in some interviews, like the interview of him talking about her education, and yes, we saw her kind of say, You know, shut up, but that’s understandable. I have done the same thing to my past partner. He was saying something about my education, and I slapped his arm and said, Hey, shut up, it’s embarrassing. I think that you don't understand how abuse and control works, which is fine. I hardly want the majority of people to know what that feels like. However I firmly believe Gypsy didn't have a choice. She would of died in that state under her mom's control. She had tried to escape multiple times with terrible terrible repercussions like being chained to a bed and her teeth being removed. We can all empathize that she was abused by her mother, but the reality is 99% of other murderers, sex offenders, rapists and pedophiles, any criminals were abused by their parents, families and peers and in “impossible” to get out of situations. But yet and still, they got out of their situations with their parents. Yes, the circumstances were different that she was being medically controlled and abused, but others were literally being beaten, abused physically and mentally beyond measure and still grew up and got out one way or another. SHE thought there was no way out and her attorneys did a great job publicly claiming that to make that the narrative, but the truth is her mom didn’t have to be killed the way she was. At this point, she needs privacy but a lot of the people around her stand to gain a lot of money by pushing her into the spotlight, so there's every reason to think that all of this isn't her idea and that she may well be being pushed into being public, rather than choosing it.
It's also the only place she's ever experienced anything resembling love, so she might be drawn to that element - especially if nobody around her cares enough to teach her the realities of fame and social media. To truly choose (or give consent) to something, you have to fully understand it - and her life has been so sheltered, that I'm not sure she does fully understand what she's getting herself into.
I don't mean to sound terrible but she's kinda the reason she is in the spotlight if she didn't go posting everything on social media and lived her life quietly people would've forgotten about her. She's just a girl playing games now and yes she does need therapy lots and lots of it and maybe needs to be looking at the single life for a bit instead of dragging people into her mess

I’ve wondered about that and IF I played devil’s advocate I might say that these men relate to her in some way. Maybe coming from an abusive mother themselves… maybe. Also, if I keep playing devils advocate for Gypsy too, I’d say that it definitely takes living with someone to truly know them. She got out, moved in with Ryan, and if she realized that he’s not the man she really wants for the rest of her life then I say that’s understandable. I don’t want to make excuses for Gypsy or her family, but for a bit of context- I am from Houma, Louisiana which is about 30-45 minutes from Cut Off where Gypsy and her family live… a lot of people around here are like that about social media. It’s a small town, everybody knows everybody, and it isn’t uncommon to share family problems on social medias like Facebook where EVERYONE can see it. I don’t think they’ve quite grasped the scope of just HOW many people are looking at Gypsy and her life. In their heads, even though they know there’s people from all over looking at Gypsy, they’re still defending her honor from the guy down the street if that makes sense. At least that’s how I see it. We aren’t known to be meek and quiet down here lol.

Knowing how Gypsy grew up, it makes sense how someone who didn't get the chance to develop strong attachment skills would bounce from one person to another so fast. I’m sorry there have been multiple right flags with Ryan. One was that he wrote her as a dare to how he kind of put her down in some interviews, like the interview of him talking about her education, and yes, we saw her kind of say, You know, shut up, but that’s understandable. I have done the same thing to my past partner. He was saying something about my education, and I slapped his arm and said, Hey, shut up, it’s embarrassing. I think that you don't understand how abuse and control works, which is fine. I hardly want the majority of people to know what that feels like. However I firmly believe Gypsy didn't have a choice. She would of died in that state under her mom's control. She had tried to escape multiple times with terrible terrible repercussions like being chained to a bed and her teeth being removed. Abuse takes away your right to make your own choices and have your own livelihood due to the manipulation and consequences. Yes, the circumstances were different that she was being medically controlled and abused, but others were literally being beaten, abused physically and mentally beyond measure and still grew up and got out one way or another. At a time, the jig was going to be up with her mother. SHE thought there was no way out and her attorneys did a great job publicly claiming that to make that the narrative, but the truth is her mom didn’t have to be killed the way she was. Gypsy is and always will be a murderer, who for whatever reason got dealt a nice hand with the judicial system compared to many others. She’s done nothing to remove herself from the spotlight and continues to reach for more with her social medias and clearly by the fact that gossip channels continue to post about her and people continue to either be curious or support her. She’s a murderer like any other. Yes, we feel bad for her, but I feel bad for most all murderers and their pasts or what lead them to committing horrendous unforgiving crimes where there’s nothing they can do to change their actions. But they took a life, that’s the decision they made, a decision Gypsy made by using someone with a disability to carry out the actions she wanted done. But do all murderers deserve a lifetime of sympathy for their past that may have contributed to their actions? No

This girl has never experienced true freedom. Being abused and held prisoner by her Mom, fighting to break from that, then prison, and then a controlling husband who didn’t want her seeing her own father. She needs time to find and be herself. She also didn’t ask for this “fame”, people should remember that before judging her.
The fact that Ryan said to watch the Lifetime show means that she must have shown her true colors there. It's pretty obvious she has the same manipulating and behavior as her mom.
