My year six team won and we went against the year 5 winners and we had to go to penalty’s cause the score was 0-0 and we lost cause we missed all the penalties cause there goalkeeper was really good ngl but after that I realised we can’t always win so keep playing even if you lose

I won't say my situation is the same as yours, but I too have a bad memory with penalty. Last year, in the Intra School Football Tournament, our team had qualified for the semifinal. The game ended in a 1-1 draw. We went to penalties, our team was in a score to win situation. The captain asked me to take the penalty, I told him that I wasn't confident. Well, the next two penalty takers missed and we were knocked out. 1 goal could have sent us to the finals. It haunts me to this day. I cannot forgive myself. I cannot even enjoy football matches properly anymore. All I can think is "If only I had taken the penalty, maybe the result would have been different". I know how it feels. But life goes on. Don't beat yourself up over it. It happens, but all we can do is keep working for improvement. Cheers, mate
I play handball not football, but I’m the penalty taker for my team. Even though I know my penalty technique is pretty shit, I still can score, but only when I actually tell myself I can score. Every time it happens, every time i have second thoughts, I screw up the penalty. When I’m gassed up and feeling myself that day, I score. So really good advice at the end, luckily a handball miss isn’t too bad as the score line is always 10-20 something to each team, so I can imagine a football penalty miss being very difficult to get over. Here’s a tip though when I take handball penalties, don’t know if it applies to football, but might as well share. When you face the goalkeeper, look him in the eye and try intimidate him with a menacing and long glare. I once did this to a seemingly less experienced goalkeeper. I saw the fear in him as soon as I locked eyes with him, and he kind of screwed up his positioning. Then I knew there was I was gonna score, and I did.
