- Hey genie gang! Watch me retouch my clients wicks. His wicks were started from traditional locs in June. He went from 80 locs to 17 wicks. He's the 3rd set of wicks I've started since offering the service this year. Wick maintenance should be done 4-6 times a year at the MOST. Enjoy the video! 😊

I appreciate this video. My locs are past my calf and I’ve been teaching myself how to crochet by cutting the ends of some and just making a new loc just to see my progress over time. It’s really time consuming I respect all who do the reconstruction.
@@MusikPlay-wj6jw I appreciate your comment ! It’s amazing that you learned the skill and do it for yourself
You ateeee siss 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks sis preciate ya! 💕
I just got all 139 of my locs crochet/wicked and are they supposed to be super soft? They look amazing but I’m not sure if some of my wicks are supposed to be that soft. Do they matt together and dense up?
Yes they should mature over time and become more solid.
@@magicalmane thank you
Nice work girl!!! What products to use to slick the roots?? I currently don't apply any to my boyfriend's roots but it doesnt look like I did a touch up with out applying anything :(
BTL makes a loc gel that works really well, there is another brand called PureO loc gel that works great too
@magicalmane thank you so much! I'll see if I can find those. My problem is the roots feels like it loose when I'm done. Any suggestions?
@@relly1824 take your time and crochet until it feels sturdy enough in whatever part you are crocheting. But be mindful the closer to the roots you get you don’t want too much tension. Normally when product is used there’s a rubber band at the roots and the loose hair outside the rubber band is crocheted in.
@magicalmane okay, well, maybe I am doing it right because I use a rubber band and crochet the new growth inside the wicks. Everything looks fine until I cut the rubber band off then it looks loose.
What if you didn't wash the wic before you started can it be fixed and make the loc come back together
@@tanaishajenkins9346 yes it can be combined still
Good job
Thank you ☺️
I stuck the cruet needle in my thumb…how do I prevent that?😮
Whew I got myself a couple of times too! There are self adhesive bandage wraps you can wrap it around them to protect them but I move slower with them on. If you get used to working with them I’m sure it’ll help. But I also think that over time you naturally figure out how to adjust the other hand so it happens less lol
On bro I stabbed my self bad and it took like a week to heal☹️🤕🤕
@@Offdazot it’s literally the worst! 🙃 I wrapped my fingers with regular bandaids it helped a lot
Good job but I have a question can I use beeswax
Thank you!! And I wouldn’t just because beeswax makes it difficult for moisture to get into our hair which can lead to breakage in the long run
What size needle is this?
A .75 if I’m not mistaken that’s usually what the hair stores near me sell
Was the hair wet or dry
It was mostly dry
