What are the mods you've done to the xse planning on getting one. Where to find the mods at
Dude in the grey be dancing when he talks 😂
Gotta do. Whatca gotta do.
Gta npc
Thats swag
If you turn the volume all the way down, it looks like he's in a music video
I love 90's hip hop.
I'd rather have a TRD for the exclusivity, but the interior of the XSE is SOOOOO nice. This is such a hard decision.
I'd go for the xse all day. Trd was not very special
@@PerformanceOnWheels yeah but mods also get really expensive really quick 🤣
That is true but even with out any mods. I'd still pick the xse
Plus you can always upgrade the drivers seat with leather in the TRD. The suspension on the TRD is supposed to be much tighter and handles better. Thus TRD
Also the apparentely insurance companies don't cover most mods. Simple stuff like muffler delete or cold air intake.. @@chrisondrovic3106
So happy to see this video. I had a feeling that the magnaflow was going to be more aggressive than the Trd exhaust. I just installed an Aem intake on my car a couple days ago and it made a huge improvement especially on how it sounds. A tune is coming very soon. Thanks for doing this comparison video guys!
I'm glad you enjoyed it and it helped you out!
Getting a TRD in 2 weeks. They only make 6k per year. This means 6000 out of the 350000 that are sold a year that are TRDs. I like the rare factor and IDC about the interior. If you wants a fastish car with a nice interior, just avoid the camry overall and get something better.
I want the TRD, but the only thing I wish it had would be the panoramic moonroof, and that is the deal breaker for me. The dual exhaust vs the quad exhaust playing a second place factor, but not that as major as the roof. Other than that...TRD would have been my choice but going with XSE and adding mods (visual and mechanical).
Good comment. Good insight.
The quad exhaust isn’t real on the factory xse. The outer exhaust tips are just welded on the the inner exhaust tips. It’s just for looks
czcams.com/video/NgNXhBNj6JA/video.html
I'm sure you can find a similar kit to match the appeal of the trd.
the chasis is more rigid and lowered on purpose for handling and less body roll and over steer so that’s why they didn’t add is my guess, but I think cutting into it would take away that and add more weight that’s my guess at least I have a 2022 TRD Calvary blue I also wish it had the moonroof but ig engineering took over
These are really nice cars to daily drive. Easy on gas and smooth driving machines. Sporty and still very practical. This is the car you drive everywhere. While the real pride and joy stays in the garage and only gets taken out on weekends.
Very true thanks for sharing
The Trd is made from a regular Se that has less options but my Se is almost full of the safety options but I love them both love more on the Xse with mods 👍
I'm just waiting for a trd pro😪
That magnaflow exhaust sounds so good I need to get it on my 23 XSE
What minute?
overall i think i prefer the XSE. it has more features that you can't easily add/mod to like the interior, camera, sunroof etc. whereas the TRD, you can change the suspension, intake, tires, wheel, and wing to a normal XSE if you like. Plus they both get the same HP. But the TRD is cheaper tho (at least in Canada). TRD would be good if it was lighter and/or had more HP.
I for one hate sunroofs, and welcome the price of the TRD.
Tbh I like the car more
@@EagleKeeper86Never quite understood the appeal of sunroofs. They squeak, leak, get stuck etc. Just another thing to break 💔
TRD all day just for the exclusivity. Pop on some engine mods and its just as fast as the other one.
It sure would be
Really faster stock already is 100 more horsepower then the xse
It is not, it has the exact same amount of power.
I'll take the modded one simply because the TRD is simply too loud looking for a family sedan id rather the normal Lexus look of the standard xse plus i like the ability to mod it instead of a stock TRD.
Like the thinking. Thanks for watching!!
The way I see it, the TRD is 70/30 Looks over performance and feel, while the XSE is 50/50. Imo, it’s better to make a car your own, so I’m in love with what you guys did to your xse.
Further Context: I’m looking to replace my 2002 Tacoma, and I’m having a hard time choosing between the 2nd Gen Taco, or the (I think) 6th Gen Camry. I’ll figure it out soon lol.
Really love how you guys modded the XSE. IT'S BEAUTIFUL🔥🔥🔥🔥
Lol this is kind of an unfair comparison, should be factory vs factory. This is giving people a biased comparison.
What it should be is Buy a cheap v6 and put the mods into it to see if you can improve it to be better comparable to the top models without exceeding their prices.
Yeah that's the whole point
100% lol. Such a biased review 😂😂
Trd is better for performance mainly cause it has a special traction control system forgot the name that acts almost like a limited slip differential in turns so even if you upgrade the xse the xse will always have more understeer compared to the trd mainly cause of that special traction control system.
It’s called ACA (active corner assist) just found it lol but anyways only the trd receives this. Also this system only activates when car is pushed to understeer limits.
Good info! thanks for sharing. There were two instances when driving the TRD where I was like.....what, what? Was that understeer, it happened and was resolved so quickly that I had a hard time processing it. So that does make sense. In the XSE, maybe the tires, strut, lower set-up not sure. I could not re-create the same sensation.
Performance On Wheels yeah it’s weird but yeah both cars are nice but I’m a performance kinda guy I’d rather have that sexy ass trd
Lol. I get it trust me.
The xse should come standard with the trd brakes.
Agreed
It should. Cause those red brakes would slap with my red interior!
XSE v6 with magnaflow for the win... but I am a bit biased since my 2018 XSE v6 has the same set up as the XSE in this video. Right down to the springs and intake🤌🤌🤌
That magnaflow sounds great!
The dude in the grey either had to pee or this was his audition for the Australian Olympic break dancing team.
Ok but the TRD isn’t built by you lol if the 5k gets put on the TRD then it’ll deff be better
That’s what I did on my trd. Put some extra money and is a beast
@@julioortiz8629 what did u do
@@airuzair2424 d3 tune, weapon r header, mid muffler delete with magnaflow resonator, cold air intake, strut bar, way less money than those 5k and much faster than that xse with 5k on it lol
@@julioortiz8629 damn I got a 07 maxima stock exhaust and I don't know what I want. Thinking of MagnaFlow or Flowmaster flowfx and keeping resonator and deleting mufflers. Any advice? I don't want anything too loud or raspy just a deep tone that is moderate
@@airuzair2424 magnaflor is good, with my header and mid muffler delete it sounds nice but crispy at the same time. If I only had the magnaflow mid resonator with stock header it would sound pretty good, but remember my header with “downpipe” is cathless and it will make it like straight pipe if I hadn’t the resonator you know what I’m saying
it seems to me that all you need to do to have the Ideal sports Camry would be to put the TRD brake system on your XSE; Add the side and rear effects and the wing and you would have the baddest Camry out their and you could call the : the Camry O-N-E!!!
I was all set to buy a TRD next month but between this video and The Car Care Nut review I pretty much changed my mind. Doesn't make sense how the TRD can be only 10LBS lighter as a hardtop. The interior is no different than my current SE as is the non LED exterior lights. It should at least have the better dash and bigger information screen. Doesn't even have the front dome lights like my SE or rear vents. No arm rest and cup holders in the rear. If the car was really lighter and more HP than it would be completely understandable but just having the Highlander brakes as the key highlights and TRD badging all over the car is not enough for me. It is cheaper than the XSE but it makes me feel like I didn't upgrade from my SE getting into the TRD. I don't know they would have to give me a real good deal for me to get the TRD at this point.
TRD for me, 5k in xse. Not
Shoot may be not be fast the v6 but I'm modded my Camry SE 2019 4 cylinder and man it sounds amazing.
Thats Great! We would love to see it
What did you do? I have one
This was a great comparison and throwing ideas around on which mods to port over from the XSE to the TRD. So far I've been running the 91 Octane on my TRD and plan on getting those Pilot 4Ss once the factory tires need replacing.
I am impressed with the 4s's.. I might go that route on the Jag. I definitely like what they did to this Camry.
What else you thinking for the TRD?
@@PerformanceOnWheels Hmmm I think it's pretty much done since a lot of the cosmetic upgrades already come from the factory minus the tires and the better tuning. Really hoping someone makes a supercharger kit for this motor because I know Magnuson is developing one for this exact same motor (2GR-FKS) but its for the Tacoma.
I just have a 4 banger 2018 Camry but I've noticed a huge difference in throttle response when I turned the ECO indicator OFF.
I honest was skeptical of people saying they noticed a difference so I would try it for myself and yes I noticed a considerable difference big time. I did add a K&N air filter and also got increased MPG. Im getting 44 MPG going average speed control at 75😝. Love my camry though!
I got a 2021 4 banger how did you turn it off? I always see mine turn on when it gets the idles down but I can’t find how to turn it off.
I came to say the same thing as Texas I also have a 2021 and would like to know..
@@TheTimothymcconnell
Go to the gear ⚙️ setting
Then under settings you will see the eco to turn off
The light doesn't actually do anything. Its an indicator of when you are light on the throttle...
@@singular9 I thought the same thing, I don't see option on my 2020 Camry Se Nightshade.
If they're both v6 then they are the same stock. Same HP and 0-60 times. Maybe the trd corners better but speed in a straight line should be the same. Xse has more luxury trim and the TRD is lowered by half an inch and has stiffer suspension.
You can just add the Trd package to the xse instead overpaying
@@zuezszYou’ll be paying like 45 grand wdym 😂
100% you have on Black Supra Cold Weather hightops. I wear mine every day and you're the only other person I've seen rocking them.
Yes sir I have like 10 pairs. I absolutely love them!
This video is very helpful, thank you soo much. I'm still thinking which one should I get Lol. I like camry xse v6 red interior + panoramic moon on top.
We are glad you found it helpful. Let us know what you end up going with!
Great video guys! I got my K&N cold air intake and dual exhaust magnaflow system ready to be installed this Saturday! Cool part..i have a 2018 Camry LE. So you know everyone is gonna be shocked how my car is gonna sound and look ;) all blacked out body & rims as well.
Let us know how you like the mods!! Thanks for watching.
Performance On Wheels Let me just say... The results were unbelievable. Very happy with my purchases
@@PerformanceOnWheels where can u buy the magnaflow system?
@@papinutgaming3030 where did u buy the magnaflow system? It sounds amazing and im hearing a lot of poeple saying its good. Im actually interested
can u share me the link where i can buy K&N cold air and magnaflow system, i hav my xae 2020 now and i really want to do that
Dude reminds of "Living in a van down by the river" 😂
How did you know I do?
Guy in the grey shirt be like San Andreas character when he talks
"Thirty six thousand miles of butt cheeks on it!" LOL!!🤣🤣🤣
It do be alot of butt cheeks
TRD will be more desirable and a collectors item down the road they will hold their value due to the low number made .
So the XSE has Quad Exhaust and Smoked Out Lights But The Higher Model TRD has Dual Exhaust Only? How does that even make sense?
I like better the XSE v6 because of the panoramic roof, is pretty elegant, sport look and super fun.😎
Now put 5k into a TRD lol. Don’t really have to do the tires and rims at least 😂
Ik I said I was gonna get a TRD for my 18th but now my Ming is starting to 📈📉📈📉📈📉
Just buy the car and get the tuning
🏎🏎🏎🏎
Love my TRD! I think if TRD has 5k worth of mods the “experience” will probably be better
I agree. Trd was yet to be released when we got the XSE oh well
Would you say the difference is really the trim?
Is it fast?
the trd has cheap interior . its basically an se with v6 engine
Yes
Put the hka supercharger on the trd will smoke the other car and it cost only 3.5k and slap a cold air intake on it
😳
Where gonna need alot more subs for that
You mean the 2GK-FE supercharger from the Toyota Aurion right?
Why compare a tune vs factory. Pointless tuned will usually better that’s the reason why you invest in tuning. I would of loved to see a stock xse vs Trd.
Not any faster in a stright line barley faster in corners is stock vs stock
Obviously watching this WAAAAY after the fact but I would have like to seen you take a base model camry SE and put 5k worth of mods vs trd - if someone offered you the XSE or the TRD plus 5 grand - then which one would you have chosen? Seems like you were comparing stock to mod - give the same amount to the trd and then what is your verdict?
The TRD just lacks options and some interior finement compared to the XSE. You could make a more performance oriented sedan out of the TRD obviously with $5k. If the interior refinement and options that were not available at the time in the TRD was import (it would be to me) I would still choose XSE.
That Magnaflow sounds awesome!
Yeah it's impressive!
If the xse had the same body mods as the trd such as the Trd spoiler, lip skirts, front lip, rear diffuser, I would definitely choose the xse
It’s 2024 and I am looking at 2020 TRD Black /Black -exactly the same dilemma.
I let go of financing cars every 3-4 years to outright buy a 2015 Accord 6-6 Coupe but I am most likely going to need a reliable sedan and these Camrys obviously fit the bill , In Canada they look like the perfect daily , both the Honda & Camry are I feel especially with those well built N/A V6 engines with more then adequate power considering all the photo radar camara’s that continue to burn you if you go over by 5 km and hour your getting a ticket in your mailbox for 300-400 bucks. Pure insanity. The province I live in is making boatloads off a touch of the pedal. So depending on where your driving there’s not much need for any more power.
Just realized how nice that TRD sounds and from the reviews I’ve seen as with the XSE is a sweet daily driver that actually looks Damn good inside & out.
I don’t see many TRD’s around so the one I am currently looking at will go fast if I don’t pull the trigger.
It’s got 38k miles on it and just looks & sounds beauty.
Decisions - Decisions. Peace of mind knowing you’ve got a solid car that’s going to last.
It's not about faster. It about that the TRD comes with everything under warranty.
But...... Don't we buy Toyotas because they don't brake?
Guys. First off, thanks for doing this video. Amazing job. Definitely knocked this one out of the park. As for which Camry I would choose? Hands down I choose the modded Camry XSE "All DAY! " The 5k in Mods make the Camry lower, faster, louder and overall better over the TRD. Plus IMHO I don't like that huge wing on the CamryTRD. I do applaud TOYOTA for doing TRD Camry. For a stock car it's awesome. However to me what you guys created with the modded Camry is something special. To me you get the added Lux that comes with the XSE trim along with added performance with Eibach, Mangnaflow, tires, tune and other parts put on. With your car I could play when I want but be total business when I need to.
As for a future vid with the Abarth and Camry. YES! Please! Austin even though the Camry may jump off the line quicker we both know which one is the better blast overall.
As for you racing Todd's car. Sorry I got to give the W to Dad's whip. The Jag purrs like a civilized kitten, "until it doesn't" 🤣🤣
Thanks Guys. Thanks for the great content. Looking forward to the next video.
I gonna try out that app
Alex- thanks for laying it out and the support. I will take whatever win I can get over Austin, I know my days are numbered before I am just the old man......Well my car will always be faster. 😉
The fact that the TRD is cheaper than the XSE and has halfway tuned suspension and exhaust, and a body kit already makes it more worth it than the XSE
I will say they interior on the TRD is very cheap compare to the XSE
My xse has a moon roof, red interior and a sick as exhaust that ima add thanks to this channel lol
That MagnaFlow!!!!😍😍😍🔥🔥🔥
It's pretty good
I seriously don't understand why they don't make a XSE TRD Pro model.
🤔❤️
They’re both sick but the xse is better 😂
The brakes on the XSE can be upgraded to TRD by simply buying the calipers and rotors. It's a direct bolt on. I ran the "trd" or highlander brakes on my 2012 SE Camry.😅
Another great vid gentlemen. I’ve got an 18 XSE, and when I heard the news about the 20 TRD I was kinda bummed I didn’t wait. This comparison puts things into perspective. I’ve just put on the Magnafow exhaust (thanks to your previous vid), and it’s absolutely incredible! Worth every cent! One thing I noticed in your XSE, is the flickering dash lights, how did you make that happen?
I think that is just the camera. They do not flicker. Unless we are talking about something else? No mods to the displays. Glad you like that Magnaflow. I had some great Info I was trying to share about gas mileage and handling... Being the non tech savory one I was recording everything in time lapse. 🤦🏼♂️ Thanks for the support!
Does it cancel the cars warranty by adding the magnaflow ?
If anyone is unaware. The TRD has the EXACT same drive train as every other v6 Camry.
Should I go with a XSE or Trd I am just going to drive it around and use it for a daily drive.
XSE for comfort. TRD for looks
Makes a 25 minutes video titled "camry trd vs camry xse" then never once line them up against each other.
Thanks for watching!
I like how he keeps comparing it, ofc 5k in mods is going to make a huge difference. Put all those engine mods into the trd and it’ll still be 5 k cheaper than the xse and feel the same
I'm glad you liked it!
Upgrade the brakes on the XSE and do the exterior pieces on it and you’re golden! I have an SE.. couldn’t get the XSE due to pricing issues.. The SE trim level doesn’t hold a candle to the XSE due to the features it has. Good video!!! Thanks guys!
That would be cool...
Love the SE!
I would take the XSE with mods. Was never a fan of the TRD Camry
trd is basically a se v6 with red seatbelts. u lose alot of options compared to xse
Is it just me or the trd was faster in that short burst of drag race? If so, that exhaust and air filter was all just for sound which kinda has like a placebo effect and makes you feel its better and responsive
TRD was not faster. Xse is faster but not by a ton.
TRD is faster by .1 seconds
Honestly for the money, your best bet is a TRD slap on a MF exhaust. Youve got a better looking xse that has a few less features from the factory for $12k less?
Great vid guys! I own the TRD in red and it definitely turns heads. I just went out to get pizza and while parking I got thumbs up from two young guys in an Audi Q7. I'm debating putting the AEM intake on. Did it void your warranty?
That's awesome! Happy to hear your enjoying it.
How much did you pay OTD if you don’t mind me asking? Getting one mid October.
@@andre3k658 just shy of $42k CAD.
BluePhirePB thanks, how are you liking it so far?
@@andre3k658 love it! Still turns a lot of heads and have yet to see another one on the road.
You do realize the xse and TRD have exactly the same engine there is not a single thing different the trd has a catback exhaust that won't add any top speed or horsepower the trd also has absolutely no options
I had no idea
I just bought the 2023 Camry xse and add the magnaflow i had it on my 2020 Camry still sound great. Where did you get the intake?
How much did you pay of you don’t mind me asking?
I quite honestly do not remember
245s give the XSE a better stance .. fills the arches perfectly
Basically proved that “built not bought” is better majority of the time
Oh wait, Sofyan on Redline Reviews said you'll go 5mph faster with the red seatbelts🤣😅😂😆
My bad. Trd must be faster than
Dog how are you not gonna tell the people what you did in the beginning 😂
🤭
Sweet to know i chose the better option😆😆 2020 camry XSE
Funny how some people put down the Camry. I guess they underestimate the V6 and numbers on paper because they lack against their competition. What is also funny is the XLE V6 has beaten a lot of those so-called faster cars.
@kamionkami1 Sure🤗 I don't know all the models, engine size or years, but here are a few. GTI, Charger, Challenger, Camaro, Mustang, Audi, BMW, Accord, Hyundai, Kia, 350z, 370z, Altima, Maximum, Porsche, Mazda, Lexus, Subaru, Acura, Mitsubishi, Chrysler 300 and some motorcycles.
@kamionkami1 What? Those are some of the fastest cars on the street. Some of them are even listed faster than the 2007-2009 Camry on paper. All makes and models have flaws. The Camry is fine when it comes to handling. Performance is where the attention needs to be to blow the competition out the water. At the end of the day, the Camry was still victorious.
@kamionkami1Yeah I know. That is why I said I did not know all the makes and models. If I listed Nissan for example, that does not necessarily mean a GTR. That is a rare car on the street anyways. The Altima, Maximum, 350z and 370z are more common. Charger does not necessarily mean a Hellcat, but we know they have less powerful models underneath at the minimum V6. Regardless, beating most of those cars is something for the Camry to brag about.
@kamionkami1 Yeah, but then you have so many configurations of these cars. Then there is the weight difference. You also have all these engine types as well. Don't forget the Mazda 6 and Accord.
TRD looks immature to me.
Like the sleek stock sleeper look.
Can't stand red anything.
he sees a hellcat 😂
That app is so cool downloaded
You won't regret it! Turnout is great!
The powertrain is the same on both. Add the motor and exhaust upgrades to the TRD that was done to the XSE and you have made the TRD better with the suspension.
🤔🤫😲
@@PerformanceOnWheels are you being sarcastic?
No
The xse is worth like 10 grand more than the trd. So why not get the trd and put the same mods you did with the xse onto the trd, it will perform the same as xse and look better [ at the same or less price than the xse ]
Imagine if Toyota would make a Camry XSE Prime with better suspension and breaks over the the RAV4 Prime ..... 305 hp AND gas saver too.
I can only imagine
I will take all the trim level except the l and hybrid .you can modify all of them .
The cars look exactly the same. The xse with the trd spoiler would be cool
Thats trueeee
Drop the 2jz in that trd you would have a sleeper
😲
I put the MF on my TRD. HAD TO CUT IT, BUT IT LOOKS SO NICE
The TRD brakes that are installed at the factory are better than the one on the V6 XSE
They really compared a stocked TRD with a modded out XSE 🙄
Hi what can I do to my camry 2021 to run better and sound good like that xse advice me pls
I'd just get the magnaflow exhaust
Wait the xse is a higher trim lever than the trd?
Yes sir
the XSE takes the cake on this one
This question is answered quite simply based on your needs.
Do you want a car the is good from A to B and happens to go quick, or do you want a sports sedan and chasing after performance over comfort.
While the XSE is very nice, all these options like, moonroof, cameras, sensors, leather seats, ventilated seats and everything, is very heavy, and will cut at your performance due to the added weight. Now if you want a performance sedan that is quick but reliable? Get the TRD, the SE trim with a v6 is very good because you save a lot of weight, increasing your performance ceiling.
XSE exhaust way better. 301hp.....*laughing in twin turbo*. Just keep reving those engines like mooks.
Knock knock. Who's there? Piston 3. 😅
Do the Honda Accord sport 2.0t 2020 please!
czcams.com/video/czsk1ky6-iI/video.html
I dont understand this comparison XSE is luxury TRD is race ....i chose relaxed luxury the Windchill pearl black top kills the TRD plus the TRD seat look cheap compared the the red interior
Not sure id day the trd is race considering its not faster
I prefer the factory trd more
Interesting
Speed wise they’re the same engine lol
Very true
xse is a better road track car in my opinion I have owned a 2018 sense 2018
👍👍👍
The different in xse vs TRD is big the front brake on the TRD is bigger than the xse and this brake caliper is 2 piston vs one piston on xse the suspension is different the TRD wheels are light vs the xse
Lol comical video when you both revving those
Nice. Good job boys.
There both very cool cars. I'm in N.California.
Same here, it didn't match what the car looked like, I also felt as though the car was leaning; cheap feel,,my first though was cheap gas or something, this can't be right.
Any tips on keeping this so black and pretty? blacks a hard color to keep clean
Nice video was looking for 0 to 60 who win
Me to! Did not want to get to crazy with the dealers car..... Part of me wants to say the xse will start pulling as RPM's stay up.... The other part of me thinks it will be dead even...... Who has a TRD and is coming to MN?!? 😉🤷♂️
