Today, when people talk about top guns, Best Guns, the narrative often goes hand in hand with English ancestry and a history that spans generations and even the century. That of Ivo Fabbri is completely different and at the same time outstanding like no other. Born in 1928, the technical genius was working in the automotive industry for FIAT when Daniel Perazzi finally called on him to manufacture and optimize his shotguns. In 1964, the Italian Ennio Matarelli won the gold medal in the trap event at the Tokyo Olympics with a Fabbri-Perazzi MX8. The success caused a worldwide sensation. Fabbri himself, driven to implement his own creative ideas, finally set up his own business in Brescia in 1964. In the decades that followed, he left his mark on an entire generation with his shotguns. Every material used has been further optimized over the years, whether barrel steel, woods or small parts. Today, detachable pinless sidelocks and titanium systems are directly associated with Fabbri. Its commitment to perfection runs through the entire creation process. Every technique conducive to this goal is called upon. Components and even tools are manufactured in-house. The design language of the shotguns has great recognition value. Fabbri quickly realized that the claim of technical perfection can only be more fully underscored by that of artistic accomplishment. Since then, the best engravers in Italy have immortalized their works on the bascule of the Brescian luxury forge. While in the beginning they also produced s/s shotguns, later only o/u shotguns were made. Collectors from prominent circles (such as Steven Spielberg or Eric Clapton) appreciate the quality and dedication to the craftsmanship. The business was strengthened by the next generation of the family, Tullio and Ivo Jr. Nevertheless, due to the enormous demand and the self-restraint to the highest quality, the waiting time has long been pushed to several years. Ivo Fabbri passed away in 2021 - with his work he has shaped the evolution and perception of shotguns like no other since the late 20th century.
