Please talk to us about dating single Fathers or single parents when you don't have a baby. My Own story is I have been dating this Guy for over 5years and he is a single Dad of One ,he has never talked anything about marriage and having children and yet me I really want to settle down and have children and one Time we tried to talk about marriage issues and he keeps saying, that time will come and whenever he says that , it confuses me totally.
And he keeps saying he has Alot of things to do before he gets married and in this 5years we have dated he is still having Alot of things to do🤔
I really don't know what to do coz it feels like I have wasted time and I really don't want to waste More Time. Please hide my identity thank you .

I have been in Anonymous’s situation and after two years of the waiting, man married another woman 3 months after I walked away. I realized that I just wasn’t the person for him and ladies if you notice that please walk away. One thing that I emphasize now is that as you wait, if you feel absolute peace in the process then wait but if you don’t feel a sense of peace in your heart then find out where that is coming from and fix it.

I really think we should leave the proposal role to the man that's if he's the one that asked for the relationship. Let's leave some bit of dignity to ourselves as women. If he saw you fit for a partner, let him seal it. If he's not proposing and time is being burnt let her walk out of it.

Thank you ladies for this spreadsheet of advise. It takes discipline to decide to be patient, to let go and to do the proposal. I like the way Angie balances all sides and Pumla, your deep way of deciphering the content is just top notch. I missed Manuel's input althought at some point she alluded into how her proposal went. I remember it was at Hotel Protea, a surprise proposal to which she said yes and she went back to the car and said no to Brian. Racheal, your ideas resonate alot with me.

Its key that we get to understand the seasons as well, to some of us who were close in age and life, I could not expect my Man to marry off immediately we finished school. He was fully committed to me and ready for marriage but there were no resources to support that, we had no jobs even a place of our own. However peer pressure disorganized me, I demanded and put ultimatums. I almost lost the love of my life. But love wins it all. We have been together for 3 years now since we left school and wedding preparations are underway. My advise is that, please understand your partner and the situation at hand.
Love what you've said but most girls are not patient enough to understand their partner's situation and because of that they end up letting go of a good man

WOW!!!!! this is so interesting and thanks ladies for tabling this. Am a single and not worried lady who has been proposed for a number of times. The 1st came when I was still in high school, he brought a ring when he was in 1st year of college, apparently he said he liked me because he saw that I would be a good complement to his future plans but the timing wasn't good for me as I was still young and I had to turn him down.
The 2nd came when I was in college with a guy I had dated for a long time in an on and off situation. He came after building his future saying he needed to have a stable home with babies and baby names for his 3 children, I felt like I was going to be an incubator not a wife and always made me feel like a stranger when with him.
Finally a recent one was with a guy who proposed after I told him that its over because he wasn't committing.
But hey, i know when the right one come, everything will workout

Interesting conversation as always. Like Rachel said at the end no relationship is the same. Copy cut paste won’t work.
Right now am speaking as a 4th floor member- Romantic Proposal & Wedding are simply the icing on the cake. In other words u can eat the cake without the icing sugar. The question you should be asking yourself Does my person have what it takes to bake a beautiful scrumptious cake (Marriage)??
If you are ready to share life with another human being- Focus and prepare for the marriage. Ie prayer, conversations, conversations n more conversations about them, with them, from people who they have related with (Exs), relatives etc. if you can afford it plz go and have therapy conversations (plz note not marriage counselling) but conversation to really understand who you both are, what baggage you both have to work through and what are u both ready to commit to.
If the person is not willing to commit to this process I would know am simply having a good time with them and Next… this is me speaking from my 4th floor.
I now see how marriage proposals and weddings with bells & whistles truly blind women especially and Alas the “Marriage ain’t marriaging”…
