Wisconsin Life | Eau Claire Project

Alex Rongstad set a goal to run every street in the city of Eau Claire within a 12-month period. The idea was that it would help bring him closer to the community in Wisconsin. He starts each run from his apartment in downtown Eau Claire. It took Alex six months to complete his goal, running a total of 3,378 miles.

That was inspiring to watch - I grew up in Eau Claire and always will remember what a beautiful city it is. As a teenager my sister and me would go exploring all over on foot or on bike backi in the 70s. There were some real hidden treasures and the freedom to be out meeting and seeing some of the locals in small stores just gave it that special connection. Back when Uniroyal was up and running we would walk across the foot bridge and see the workers out on fire escape balconies then there was the train that went thru to down by the old post office. I could go on and on I am sure glad I lived in those days of simpler times.
