  • Cucumber Castle was first shown on BBC2 in the UK on 26 December 1970.
    On his deathbed, The King (Frankie Howerd) orders his kingdom divided into two halves, the Kingdom of Jelly and the Kingdom of Cucumbers. Before the king dies, Prince Frederick (Barry Gibb) declares himself the "King of Cucumber", and Prince Marmaduke (Maurice Gibb)becomes the "King of Jelly".
    The film features musical performances and comedy sketches from the likes of Vincent Price, Lulu, Spike Milligan and many more (often uncredited).
    To date, an official release has never been produced; as such, we present this version for historical and educational purposes only. No copyright intended.

    So many amazing performers in this movie however the Bee Gees should have always stuck to music and not done any "acting"! And of course I came here for Vincent Price!💜 The big plus was at about 39:00 seeing the legends Steve Winwood, Eric Clapton, and Ginger Baker! Wow wow wow ...except for the Blind Faith segment, this was a bit difficult to watch. Many thanks for sharing it.

    In the words of Norm McDonald: "Not Gay ENOUGH!!". But thanks for showing Blind Faith miming to their Hyde Park concert, wherein Eric screws a Strat neck onto his Tele body at the last moment!
