Very useful to know! I wondered what happens when the 15k miles are up and I have recently found out, nothing! No lights or warning it just shows 0 miles.
Thanks for that info on the service light you really seem to know these MG's I have a problem with mine and hope you can help. I have just changed the fuel filter and now it wont start. Seems like plenty of fuel pressure but doesn't seem like the injectors are working. Any ideas? Thanks again
@@pistonbrokeThanks for getting back. yes was running fine even though fuel was leaking from corroded filter. Replaced with a blue-print filter now it wont start. Seems like fuel pressure ok had plugs out and dry, got spark just no fuel getting through Thanks again
@@geoffbrown9455 ok, yeah they do rust making the pipes difficult to remove. I've had brand new filters cause this before so I wouldn't rule it out. Maybe put a genuine one on it.
On the subject of servicing, I'm doing my 2016 MG3 myself for the first time, now that the warranty has expired. The installed spark plugs are NGK PFR6Y which I can't seem to get from anywhere apart from the dealer. My local parts shop tells me that NGK Iridium BKR5EIX-11 are a suitable alternative, but I can't find any cross reference charts that mention they are equivalent. Does anyone know if I can use them?
Only MG do PFR6Y. I don't know why they are not available anywhere else considering it's just an NGK plug. The heat rating is the number so I'd stick with a 6. BKR6E or 6E11 or there abouts should be ok.
OMG - so simple , been doing it with my bio directional scan tool . thanks , i’ve looked for how to do this without a scan tool and no one else out there shows what you just did in seconds , thank you.
@@p2068 I'm assuming it doesn't work on some other markets because someone from Australia said it didn't work on his. Make sure you have the drivers door open, it wont work with it closed.

@@geoffbrown9455 Difficult when I don't have the car in front of me but first question, was it running before you changed the fuel filter?

@@geoffbrown9455 it can only be the fuel filter as that's all you've done to make it not start. Put the old one back on and try it.
@@pistonbroke It was stuck solid and took some getting off and now leaking too badly to put back Thanks

Don't work on my MG 2023 in Australia model 😢
There might be a difference between the UK and AU models. Make sure the door is open. It wont work with it closed.

Why do they make it so stupid to do a service reset I would never of known that in all my life
That's the idea. It's you you have to take it to a garage and also it can't be accidently reset.
