I had one of these laying around because it was a Xmas present for my computer, I ran out of storage for my ps4 and put 2 and 2 together, thx for the vid dude

Yea that's a good choice. Will it be an internal or external hard drive? I chose external because I didn't want to open the PS4 and do all the stuff with the operating system or whatever, but I hear it's not that hard.

R.G. Blu there is definitely longer loading times using the external hard drive for sure in the game you listed and others. And if there is any FPS drops it's minor and rarely noticeable.
So I bought the WD because I had so many issues with the seagate and it would mess up my ps4 and because of it I had to buy a new ps4 but Best Buy recommended the WD external hard drive and it works well no problems yet

Most saved games are backed up on the PSN network
It Will Be In Your Library
If u have ps plus, it should be uploaded to the cloud, or u can do it manually to make sure
@@YoungBoiNate lol thanks. The game data sadly doesnt transfer but only the games that you have downloaded stay on your library to redownload.
@@thePrinceofFrogs if its on the same psn account transferred to the ps4 pro, it shouldn't matter, you will still have all saved data from your old ps4, u just have to download it from the cloud, after u uploaded to the cloud manually to see if its fully there before deleting the app, and once u get on ps4 pro u can easily do it

I used my external hard drive for my PS4...can I use it to backup my computer as well? Or do i need to reformat and clear the PS4 data before using it on my mac.
They need to be formatted/deleted per device. They only support 1 at a time as far as I know.

Does the saved data save on it too or it just tranfers the game not your saved data?
If you're installing a game on it for the first time. It'll also save the saved data on the external drive.
What if u have some movies downloaded on. The hard drive can u still do this without deleting them
The movies will stay on the internal storage drive. Nothing is being deleted, you're just adding storage. It's just like connecting a flash drive to your computer.
Bro did the hard drive ever got extremely hot or any performance issue or data corruption ever happened with you? All i am saying is usually we use a Hard drive to store data than always using it so is it "Safe" or not?

@@montyy.2744 dude if you're worried about Savedata its always stored in Internal Storage only installed gamedata is in the HDD as long as you got the owned game you can always install it back. Usually data corruption happens when you yank out the usb without properly removing from PS settings or while using it. That is something I am clear about. What I want to know what is the long term effect is it worth it or I wil be losing data after a while or it never happens. The Heat is my concern that will not only corrupt but will damage my HDD so if it can take that abuse or not.

When I Turn PS4 Off After a Couple Times It Makes Me Re Format It Again and Then I Have To Download Everything Again and It Takes To Long.

What happen if u playing game and remove hard disk (while playing)it affect ps4 motherboard ? Or game data will be lost? 🙏🙏
Not sure exactly what will happen. It probably won't affect your motherboard. But for sure your game data for that session will be lost. Once you reconnect it, you'll be where you left off the time before. It is possible though that the entire drive gets corrupted and you lose all and games store on it.
Do games run faster on the external hard drive than on the original hard drive
They run about the same. If you get an external SSD, then they will run a lot faster. SSDs are a lot more expensive though.

Leave it in a single spot without moving, flat. That way there's no damage to the spinning disk inside. These things happen to these kinds of devices, unfortunately. Mine is still going strong after almost 6 years, but I rarely use my PS4 now.
Are there any problems with standbye mode or switching off the PS4? Or do you have to release the external harddisc every time

Hard drives always blink rapidly, it just means it's on and being used. And yes, you're supposed to have it connected at all times or you run the risk of losing data.

Hey bud. I just bought that exact external hard drive. When I plugged it in. I didn't get a notification at the home menu . It sees the hard drive. But I can't format it. Also the little light on the external hard drive isn't on. please help.
I would format it on a computer
and test it out to see if a computer can read it if not its your drive
Why doesn't my games go directly to the extended hard drive? When my system storage is already full I have to move games from system storage to extended storage in order to play I'm pretty upset that it won't go directly to extended hard drive

From a normal sitting distance, you cannot hear the external drive.
