- Nathan Noel was drafted to the Chicago Blackhawks in 2016. Since, then he's been playing in both the American and East Coast Hockey League. Most recently, with the Newfoundland Growlers. My first memory of watching Hockey is the Springfield Indians when they were affiliated with the Whalers and seeing Manny Legace in net. I also saw Danny Briere start his pro career through our system as well. I never been to an ECHL game but I’m not far from Worcester so maybe I’ll check it out soon.

My question is. How does one work his way into the ECHL. In europe there are many tiers of pro hockey you can kinda scale the ladder progressively. But here it's all so blurry. Unless you're drafter you're fked.
Typically you're either drafted and placed there after junior, or you sign on a tryout or as a free agent after school so NCAA or U Sports hockey.
Damn. So if you don't play in college is practically impossible. I would have to in some way or another get into some tryouts.@@RobertGreeley
What is the pay 🤔??
In the East Coast League? Varies a lot tbh, good bench mark say $500 a week, with most of your expenses taking care of!
@RobertGreeley that's not as much as I thought it would be. He works 💪 out alot to stay in shape and gym 🏋️♂️ membership are not cheap and he eats high quality food etc. Must have a very supportive wife or a great side job etc.. great video on the inside training that must be done!
