OMG! I searched CZcams for this comparison and couldn’t find one. 👏🏾🙌🏾 Thanks for giving us what we want. We can count on you.
Awww thank you!!!!
Thank you so much for the detailed explanation!❤
You are so welcome!
Thank you for the video. It would have been more helpful if you had removed the lids so we could see what the interior and edge looked like. :)
From South Africa 🇿🇦, thank you for this content, I am learning a lot. I am saving to buy my first Le creuset cast iron.🙏
Thank you for watching @manavhelaDawn! Welcome to the channel! 😊
Great job on the review of the physical differences of the two pots. Have you tried searing meat in the wide dutch yet? If so, did you find the outside edges to be as hot as the center? I h7😢eard someone say that if your hub isn't large enough for the large wide body, you would have problems with searing. I am curious as to what size hub one would need for this wide pot.
Hi there! Great question! I have been able to sear a whole chicken in the round wide dutch oven on the stove top prior to placing it in the oven. It did really well and my stove top is just regular size. I hope that was helpful, thank you for watching!
I have a 3 qt braiser and it is HUGE! --at least to me. I've been eyeing the round wide dutch oven and it most likely will be my next purchase. Thank you for the comparison.
Thank you for watching!
Can you show us how you stack them?
Okay, sure thing, thank you for the suggestion!
I haven’t bit the bullet yet on the 5 qt braiser. But I did pick up a 3.5 qt braiser this weekend at the outlet in BAMBOO! Could not pass it up. I really like both.
What a great find and in the color BAMBOO!!!!! ❤
I have the braiser (shallow casserole in England) and the "wide Dutch" (casserole) version that has the baking lid on top. I find the braiser much better for stove top use, probably because of the rounded sides and extra heavy lid that creates an almost pressurised effect, so I keep the "wide Dutch" just for baking cakes and pies, and it is perfect for that.
Great way to use the wide dutch!!!
I bought the 6.75 Dutch oven(LC), and 3.5qt braiser from Staub
How exciting! Do you have a favorite recipe you use in both?
But what if they are the same price? Which would you choose?
LOL! If they were the same price, I would definitely choose the round wide dutch oven. Simply because it is a little more versatile and has higher sides than the braiser. Hope that helps!
I'd better order that round wide now before the price goes back to $430. I've been delaying the purchase because I cant settle on a color so I keep putting off making a decision. Thyme, Azure or Matte Navy? The indecision/procrastination is driving me crazy! 🤣
LOL🤣🤣 !!! The matte navy would be gorgeous next to the color flame!!
Matte navy is so classy! I just saw the Azure wide in person. Gorgeous!
@@maryam6712 I totally agree!!!!❤
You mentioned braising in the braiser but it wasn't one of the things you mentioned using the wide round for. Do you think it possible to braise in the wide or would that be the deciding factor for someone who intends to braise?
Thank you for bringing that up, I forgot to mention that and remembered right after I was done, LOL! Yes, I have braised in the Round wide dutch oven and really liked how the high sides protected the stove from the oil/sauce splatters. I absolutely believe both are good for braising.
@@karenandmaya8329 yippie! ☺️👏🏾
@@maryam6712 LOL!!!
Interesting how your 5 qt looks smaller than my 3.5 braiser. I wonder why the warranty limited lifetime in that wide round? Something’s amiss here. That price is excellent and they are a good company, but don’t they usually discount the lower quality or seconds to places like home goods? That where I got my first le crueset. Im not settling well with that limited lifetime even though I don’t have one it’s bothering me. Plus my sister just ordered it.
Hmmmm, good point, Yes, I was wondering why the braiser had a limited lifetime warranty. That did not make sense to me at all, but I included it just for fyi.
@@karenandmaya8329 I’m calling them tomorrow. Closed today.
@@rosastakofsky1538 I would definitely love to know what Limited Lifetime warranty means, lol
@@karenandmaya8329 I will pass that along. I have a feeling they changed the warranty and haven’t updated all of the website
@@rosastakofsky1538 Thank you so much!
