Yh it makes more sense if you're Tanzanian its basically a nostalgic song about things that happened whilst we were growing up zilipendwa basically means it was liked and they reference different events and moments that took place

ZILIPENDWA is a Swahili word meaning, "everything loved in the past." You can observe in the video the outfits, cars etc are the ones used in the past. Also the clips explain some behaviours people used to have mostly in the past years in Tanzania.. Some words explain stars in TZ who shined then and love relationships that aren't existing.. So it is a cute song taking us years back with their outstang voices.. Much love:-)

Thank you guys for representing our African musics. Zilipendwa is the song that talked about how back in the day, men would show an interest to a woman but in terms of hiding and trying to keep a low profile due to (our African culture). What I like a lot about this particular song, is that, it includes all sort of activities, from going toward the love one, politics, and mostly, the well-known former celebrity couple etc. It describes, how "Diamond na Wema, zilipendwa"---the popularity and the love that their fans showed toward their relationship (even to this day, despite their separations).
