Almost 30 years on, and the music still gives me tingles 😊 legendary series of games that will remain a fond memory for my entire life
The best Tomb Raider Games was when Core Design was in charge. I miss those days. 😥
But I still like Legend, Underworld and Anniversary. However, what followed is something I don't like at all - classic TR was missing for me there. Hope they'll get back to the roots soon!
@@webfreezy I liked those entries in the franchise as well. For me personally, it just didn't have the same magic that the classics had for me.
@@webfreezy EXACTLY. Crystal Dynamics' first reboot of TR series, the Legend era of TR games, was FANTASTIC. But their second reboot, Survivor era was.....well, you know, not Tomb Raider. At all. I have extremely high hopes TR 1-3 Remastered will REVIVE the series once more and get us all BACK ON TRACK with what makes Tomb Raider, Tomb Raider.

@@Dr4kiZaR Legend was a fun game, but it leaned too much into being an action game, Anniversary and Underworld had more classic exploration/puzzle solving.

I don't know if someone else feels the same intense feeling I can't even describe, when I listen to the main theme from the first TR. It's the best of all series. I fell in love with this music since the first time I heard it.

It almost made me cry... The Last Revelation was my fisrt TR and I still love it the most.
Last Revelation was my fourth TR game 😁 Didn't like it as much because it has only one single topic with all other games up to V playing in completely different parts of the world.

Those were good times. While it is true "Legend" was my first game, it's thanks to this era that game even existed. So I share my love with it as well.
Legend was also my first game! I had the trilogy of Legend, Anniversary and Underworld. Didn't really play em in order though. TwT
@@rllgr3356 I played them by launch order, rather than chronological.
A few months ago however, I played the trilogy as my own personal movie/mini-series, with "Underworld" being the present day, while the other two games were the flashback sections. Playing them like that helped keep my mind fresh enough to come up with a couple of theories to explain things regarding that saga that confused me for years.
Why am I actually crying, though? This is amazing. ❤

The Question I always ask myself is if Tomb Raider 6 The Angel of Darkness should count as a classic tomb raider game as well.
Yes it was the first PS 2 Game but it was still part of the classic timeline and produced by core design
That was a really bad game to me and I hope there’s a redesign somewhere fanmade or otherwise.
@@NYCHeavyHitz212 If the Tomb Raider 1-3 Remaster sells well we might get a Remaster of Tomb Raider 4-6.
They would certainly fix the bugs and the bad controlls. i don´t know what else they would do with Angel of Darkness.
But it would be interresting to see that Game in an improved state
@@damiandorhoff719 i think they would make 4-5 first if 1-3 does well since angel of darkness itself was supposed to have a trilogy and there are 2 whole levels that were cut from that game (pretty sure one was germany but i dont remember the other one. maybe turkey?) so they would probably have to make most of aod from scratch
this is so cool! tomb raider (1996) will forever be my very favorite i think because it was my first game in the franchise
TR IV was the best in the series, the Egypt setting was amazing. its definitely one of the hardest games ever made.

I love this Lara so much. I loved how quiet her games used to be...Puzzles, some enemies here and there, acrobatics and dangerous situations. Now her games looks like Uncharted

It's amazing how iconic these games are. The memories of the levels came to the fore. And on 14th this month it's time to return to 1996. THIS will be the greatest release of this year, if not this decade. Lara as she should be.

I like this. Tomb Raider is one of my favorite games. I can't wait for Tomb Raider I-III Remasters to come out. And I really do hope they remaster Tomb Raider The Last Revelation, Tomb Raider Chronicles, and Tomb Raider The Angel of Darkness. They need to be remastered too.

A Tomb Raider Level Editor exists and People have made their own Levels with it.

Toby Gard originally wanted Tomb Raider to be only one game without becoming a franchise, he disagreed with the idea of making sequels to grow the series. But, thank god we have all of these awesome TR games to enjoy for many more years to come as long as PC's can support newer hardware since technology keeps evolving over time.
When the Tomb Raider games were great. Thanks that we'll have the remaster of the three best TR games and the expansions.

Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation's theme is still my favorite. I got the remastered trilogy, but have only played TR1 so far. TR3 was my first and favorite or the original trilogy, but I'm waiting on another patch before I start TR2. And there's a cool Easter egg in TR3's remaster showing coordinates that when you look them up, they're for Giza, Egypt, where a large chunk of The Last Revelation takes place. Hoping that's a hint for a TR4-6 remaster.

This is the most beautiful tribute to Tomb Raider that exists!! 👍 I consider Tomb Raider as the very first 3D adventure game. It was such a revolution at the time. Transitioning from 16-bit games to that, you had to experience it back then to truly understand how much it changed everything. I still remember the first articles about Tomb Raider II in magazines, where the main topic was that Lara Croft's chest would have more polygons, and her braid would finally be modeled ^^ Anyway, great tribute video, thank you !! ( Et par un Français en plus, bravo !! 🇨🇵 👍 )

Amoooo con admiración este juego, lo tuve en mí adolescencia para mí Play Station 1, actualmente tengo 38 años y aún los tengo en formato físico (1-2-3-4-5) para mí Ps One 😊, considero personalmente que los Tomb Raider deberían haber quedado gráficamente actualizados hasta lo que llegó en The Ángel of Darkness (el angel de la oscuridad) y en cuanto al estilo de modelado de objetos, escenarios, debería haber mantenido las características con las que llegó hasta la 5ta entrega, Tomb Raider Crhonicles (Cronicas). El haber llevado este juego al punto del "realismo" apagó su esencia, opacó lo que realmente fue, un juego que mostraba poco, pero decía mucho en nuestra imaginación y eso es lo que más nervios y ganas de jugar despierta en uno. ¡Los videos juegos en general deberían haber quedado al nivel gráfico de los 32 bits, exprimirlos al máximo y dejar el resto para la imaginación, el querer llevar los videojuegos al punto de ser hiperrealistas y asemejarse a la realidad visualmente, creo que ahí se rompe con la magia, LA MAGIA DE LOS VIDEOJUEGOS!!!! I love this game with admiration, I had it in my adolescence for my Play Station 1, I am currently 38 years old and I still have them in physical format (1-2-3-4-5) for my Ps One 😊, I personally consider that the Tomb Raider should have been graphically updated to what arrived in The Angel of Darkness and in terms of the modeling style of objects, scenarios, it should have maintained the characteristics with which it arrived until the 5th installment, Tomb Raider Chronicles (Chronicles). Having taken this game to the point of "realism" extinguished its essence, overshadowed what it really was, a game that showed little, but said a lot in our imagination and that is what arouses the most nerves and desire to play in one. Video games in general should have remained at the 32-bit graphic level, squeeze them to the maximum and leave the rest to the imagination, wanting to take video games to the point of being hyperrealistic and visually resembling reality, I think that's where it breaks! with magic, THE MAGIC OF VIDEO GAMES!!!!
