The lead-up to Eurovision 2022 has begun! The countries that are representing in this year's contest have already started to select who they want to send to Turin.
Spain is one of those countries competing and their holding their own contest called BenidormFest to find their star to shine in Italy and one of the favorites to win is Chanel and her song "Slomo".

I think I speak from everyone when I say the studio version did not do this song justice live. She killed it live, vocally and performance wise

Vocally she did the best for the performance that came with it. Apart from Beyonce, who else in this world could pull off the perfect vocals with a high energy dance. If I was to make a comparison to another international act that would be Normani when she did motivation live. The dance was amazing but even she didn't have top vocals. Chanel will have 3 months or so to practice and perfect the vocal live.

I´m going to be honest, I really love Tanxugueiras and so they are my number 2, but Chanel has the all package, she won me with her life performance in so many ways, I hope she wins, shes perfect in ESC, she has a great change and Spain has a great change to get one of best result of the last years, Im impressed with the quality of the BENIDORMFEST thought

this is an elevated version of Eleni Foureira's Fuego. but songwise Fuego is a bit better than SloMo.

OMG YES it was terrible
I mean all in all the second semi final felt less than the first, probably because in the first semi we had both chanel and blanca who are both very talented theater experts, so they know how to work a great staging, but if you compare the songs in the second, Rigoberta did stand out to me for being able to hit all the right notes at the right time, so regardless of how her staging could be improved that is something that definitely gained her points in my book

Chanel has been dancing and singing in the most important musicals in Madrid theaters for 15 years! And acting in some tv series. She is a star and a super great person. Ah! the choreographer is from Kyle Hanagami and he worked with (BlackPink, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, CNCO, Justin Bieber o N'sync...).
She's an amazing performer and I hope she does wonderfully in her career. The song though, and especially the lyrics, are basically everything that's wrong with the music industry today. And of course what happened in Benidorm with the voting was shameful, it was as corrupt as it gets. I'd just like people to stop taking their anger out on her personally. She worked incredibly hard and delivered a stellar performance, doesn't deserve the hate.

The voice is on point, the performance awesome, the staging beyond good. As for the song, the pre chorus is the only thing I remember. It's not catchy, the instrumentation is very flat at a point where the verses and the drop sound literally the same. So that's the issue here. We don't have a song, not many people would listen to it as a song. However, a lot of people would love the performance. So, if this represents Spain, I can't see it above the 15th place (even though we haven't heard all the songs)

Tanxugueiras (no tanxeguiras) they couldn't prepare their act properly because of covid. In fact, Olaia arrived in Benidorm the very same day of the semifinal. For sure they will perform (even) better on the final.

I don't know, I seem to be the only one who feels this way but this song doesn't say anything to me. I might have watched the video like three times and I still don't remember how the song goes. I feel nothing listening to it. It's not musically catchy nor does it send a message with its lyrics. Yes the dance and stage presence is way better than the others (most of them lacked energy, coordination, execution, production and the show aspect), this one just looks like every other mtv awards performance, not that mind-blowing tbh, and that means nothing without a good song. If this woman had a better song she could definitely go to eurovision because she's a good performer. The perfect performance would be the energy of las tanxugueiras, cool lyrics like ay mamá or calle de la lloreria and the stage presence of chanel.
I think it will do pretty well on Eurovision. But it won’t win the final. We have seen this kind of song and performance over the years. And over the past years the winning song had always something new and different in it. And honestly, the performance is like what Cyprus did in 2019 and the song is a mixture of Aserbaidschan and Croatia 2021 with a Slovenia 2019 twist. So I don‘t see a win, but for sure it’s the best selection that Spain had over the past years. So, let’s see what Eurovision 2022 had to offer.
