This is absolutely one of the best interviews I have ever seen. The interviewer isnt asking asinine questions and interrupting those he is interviewing. He adds relevant comments and notes to what Josh and Troy are saying. Its just great. Its a lost art really. So many people that interview musicians today are so idiotic and ask either really basic or stupid random questions and then interrupt the whole time, like its more about them than the artists. Well done Alan Cross. Well done.
You think you can't love them any harder and then you watch this interview. Thank you Josh, Troy, Alan. Best band in the world right now.
also i love how the two of them, as soon as the interveiwer asks the color questions, both of em just say "plaid" like they've been waiting for the questions
what a fantastic interview!
this interview makes all the right questions!!! thank you so much !!!!
I bought the record in question after "Like Clockwork..." and it sure as fuck holds up. Amazing debut.
B4YouGoFilms - first QotSA i heard was Rated R. local radio played a couple tunes from it (Better Living and Lost Art), and have liked them since. i got the first record not long after its re-release. i remember thinking Stone Gossard was a fucking genius for signing the band. one of the best debuts i've ever heard.
A genius music creator, and a genius to sign one of the best current rock bands
incredible interview!
One of the best interviews out there.
Great interview Alan! This is the most candid I've ever seen/heard Josh and Troy and this has been awesome!
Cheers!
"...oh, there's this stuff called 'being a musician'..."
How to Handle a Rope rocks..One of their best...
need. more. desert. sessions.
Alan, you are amazing for asking my question at 10:15
I'm just loving Troy's white shoe. When is his clothing line coming out? I'm there.
That was a nice and chill interview. Lots of Musical Philosophy thrown around.
These guys never seem to not Inspire Me.
I believe the record he is talking about it is actually "Montrose: Jump On It"
Man, Josh is so fucking cool it makes me feel insignificant.
Can anyone direct me to some live footage of that "first album revisited" tour? Preferably a whole show. I don't find anything....
Their music is violet, goddamit...
i looked all over the page to see if someone mentioned that
great boston reference right there
@brossive Dude, you're my hero.
There's this thing called being a musician.
@RectoBold you do realize that this is a newer interview right?? from just a few months ago?
@theenigmajjames Ye - Sure, but I saw them after that interview live and Josh had let his hair grow a bit since then; he's a little slimmer these days too after touring but back then our man was looking a bit well fed, methinks. Touring can knock punds off in a month, let alone a few... ;)
that's the first rockstar not caring about his hair
Troy was in A Perfect Circle, he must be high standard to be with Maynard. No offence to Maynard, I love Tool, he just seems like he has high standards for his musicians xD
He's worked with MJK on both A Perfect Circle and Puscifer so I'd like to think yes
Playing leads exactly? He didn't play them exactly in the summer of 98 even. Homme talks about the Kyuss reunion being "awesome" at 15:50.
i use joop. awesome
@mimickick i like the eagles of death metal reference :D
best burn from Homme at 10:55 haha
@IamLudes what do you want him to be like ?
i love how josh always rocks different fucked up haircuts...
junkeposse he looks more like Troy here
*Goes out and buys Joop*
10:55-11:00.. laughed my ass off..
And now there's 'Joop Homme' Coincidence? I think not.
@davyro66 LOL! Yeah, it's totally insignificant - It was more of a piss-taking off the cuff thing from me originally; Josh is a big fucking fella - Troy looks small next to him. In the end, I don't really care whether he's a bloater or a bean pole; he's fucking incredible. It is a great interview - theenigmajames is right.
I hope all of you talking about Josh being fat are happy that he's slimmed down again.Anyways fantastic interview with two of the worlds best musicians
6:09
ah. this thing still picks lettuce
@TooChillWill Yeah - He's looking a little portly; he had that weird hair cut then too. Thankfully, he got a little leaner again... Meh; I don't care if he grows to be a monster - Fucking love them all.
Daddy!
Josh or Troy?
as for josh's weight I think he looks healthy. Would you rather he be 90lbs at deaths door? Grow up
Is it me or... Someone's getting soft
/watch?v=LJvvxEs1_pE lol
yikes, "heavy music for girls", man I love josh but that sucked.
