- This gameplay tutorial for Mechwarrior Online shows you how to utilize your Mech to it's best extent. I'll give you a rundown of the build and what it is made for and show you the actual combat role in two games on the battlefield.
Mechwarrior Online is a competitive first person shooter where you build and pilot massive Mechs and prove yourself on the battlefield. The game is based on the Battletech franchise, which originally was a science fiction tabletop game in the 80s. Big part of the game is configuring your loadout and find the best match of missile, ballistic and energy weapons for your playstyle. The weapon variety ranges from devastating autocannons over particle projectors to deadly arrays of laser beams. On the battlefield your team of 12 Mechwarriors fight the enemies on rather small arena-type maps. Teamwork is crucial here because a single Mech does not survive long if it steps in front a full firing line. Communication and teamwork is key on your journey to glory and victory.

I am using Haven Kendrick's Soundpack! Download it here: / haven_kendrick . To install, simply locate your Mechwarrior Online installation folder, open "Game" and you will see lots of .pak files. Drop the sound mod file into that folder with the other .pak files, restart the client, and you are good to go!

I feel you'd love the Koloss stone rhino hero mech, Mask, 56 kph speed, 80 or so with MASC and it has 112 damage alpha strikes with 6 SRM 6s and 2 LBX 20s, Thinks a face melter of a brawler and I annihilate things daily in it.
It also has SRM HSL +2 so it can fire all 6 of the SRM 6s without ghost heat, Lasers aren't necessary on it, just excess heat for not much more damage.
4x LBX is quite the shotgun fetishists delight

Even if the match was bad, but it showcased key points about the mech (good or bad), you'd put it in. You're good about that.

I love the 4x LB-20x Build. You get one in the Campaign and I was head shooting everything. I could not believe it seemed better then the Gauze Rifle. Put them in Chain fire, it works great.
You can actually alpha strike four LBX-20s without ghost heat! It's a lot more damage at once and a lot more satisfying to hear them all go off at once and instantly delete a light or medium mech
I will have to say there is nothing in mwo that is more intimidating to run into than a stone rhino.
imo most stone rhinos are not that scary, the koloss can be fairly scary though.
@@LavaDa1shi Fascinating, I think the Koloss is one of the meh versions of the stone rhino, especially when I'm playing a light or medium. But if I turn the corner and I see a stone rhino geared to the teeth with ballistics it's like well this is going to hurt.

I don't include the direwolf because those tend to be long range builds so you don't even see it before it blasts you.
@@zalin2000The rest of the stone rhinos I consider no scarier then something like a dire wolf annihilator or fafnir.
(which is not that much since I usually find most of them fairly easy to play around or against)
but in mwo the meta afaik is fast brawl big assaults are too slow to be easy to use in a brawl, except for mechs like the spirit bear or koloss which are very fast because of masc, so you now have a mech that has some of the most firepower of anything in the game and because of masc is fast enough to use the firepower and is one of the easiest to use mech assault mechs imo.
but I do not consider it much scarier then any other assault just one of the slightly scarier ones, what usually determines how scared I am is the pilot not the mech.
Wish we could see the reaction of the Fafnir pilot at 8:13. Probably thought his armor would keep him in the round for a while, and then WHAM!!! 😵
I have either a cyclops or an atlas kitted with two LB 20s and it is a lot of fun! But double the dakka is something I'm not sure I can resist. *Adds stone rhino to cart*
Try no XL and 4x LB10 on sleipnir if you have that bot. It's like the LB20 build but you just get way better range, spread, and rate of fire.

I love this build. I was so anxious from the time they put up stats until release to be able to build this. I surprised a LOT of people with it when they finally did come out. :D
I run 6x LB-5x on my SR-4. I didn't think it was possible to get 4x LB-20Xs on the mech and still have it feasible. I'll have to try this later.

If you want a real fun Stone Rhino build, try out the Aksum Legendary mech with 4x Ultra AC-5s and 2 Ultra AC-10s. It hits hard, though you won't have that much ammo so you'll want to make the bursts count.

This exact build is the very reason I want an SR-4! It's a big mech with big guns which is my very play style in MWO

I am ocd when it comes to mechs they release! I must have them all. So mechs like the SR...I buy them all I have the Platinum SR-1(P) Loyalty mech and Including the Aksum. I will try this out tonight!! thanks for the video.

4 x Snubs on a K2 is a good build. I typically run mine with a 1 - 2 punch. With good heat management, it's a good skirmisher
K2 is a very versatile mech. Can run a lot of different set ups, dakka, and the high hardpoints? fantastic. I run mine as a sniper with dual AC5/ Dual LPPC.
TTB in the trenches with 4x shotguns... *"When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again" intensifies.*
I like this Doom-Boomstick. Got 4 Kills, 5 Assists and 820 DMG in the first Match.
The sound of those 4x lbx 20 is incredible

This mech looks like ED-209 from Robocop. It really deserves a matching paint scheme.

Played this in a match w/ Baradul about 4 days ago on Ceres. Unfortunately got wrecked early when the team let an Arctic Wolf get behind us and it cored my Rhino. If you can face your enemies, its terrifying. If someone gets behind you, its a trainwreck.
how does a crit work on lbx is it that each pellet has a chance to do more dmg... or is it that when your shooting structure with it it wrecks more shit more often?
The other way to play this build is to make other get chainstunned. You just press 1 2 3 4 with equal interval - enemy mech's cockpit shakes again and again. MW4 and Dire Wolf LBX-20 worked well.

Quad gauss is a thing too.
Better yet is 2 lg pulse 2 lbx 10 2 gauss build. Cycle weapons in duos keeps enemy stun locked and rocking.
Between you and TTB I think House Steiner would have the whole IS on LOCK!

So I understand that the aesthetics and stats of a mech are more or less divorced, the game has to look good and it has to play good. But man, those top cannons look like they would be SO vulnerable to getting shot off. Ok, I'll go now.
They are linked to your mech so damaging those will damage the mech (Center torso I think) but those high weapons do help if you're peeking over an obstacle, as lower weapons can impact the cover. Kinda neat but it does actually affect gameplay in some ways :)

The lore of this thing is so baffling to me. The clans took a mech design associated with one of the people they absolutely hate the most, Stefan Amaris, and are like "You know what we need to do? Make Amaris' Folly somewhat more usable."
Not even. Smoke Jags saw the Matar as a challenge of “We can make what the Inner Sphere couldn’t” and they *succeeded* . The Stone Rhino truly is a show of the Genius of the Scientist Castes.

Gausszilla can run this build too, possibly better because it can fit a PPC in the center. It's also balanced by the fact it's very slow and has to be in your face to do heavy damage
