As a guy that's regularly grown garlic (small scale) I would have had a question for those folk and you ~ where's the ginger ? it makes for a good companion plant at about 10% of the garlic yield/planting especially around the damp border/fringes where garlic struggles. The beauty of it being that the same process facility is easily utilised for the end product. Now it's possible there's a unique issue that counts against it, but I can't see it and you covered their area quite well. Oh, and thank you for your excellent video sir.

Hi Jamal, since you wondered, 13:31 to 13:35 (and on the right, above the hedges, up to 14:10) is CORN. Maize is a variant, if I get it right technically. .... Eaten as fresh corn on the cob (steamed, boiled, or roasted with or without seasoning and other 'messy' adornments when relatively fresh). Saw some near-maturity corn in the video, judging by the color of the silky tassels. Great when in season, fresh, soft, cooked and munched mouth-organ style. Fresh, mini-sized baby corn could be used as veggies or in salads: steamed, stir fried and seasoned, etc. Otherwise, the dried version of the seed when milled could be used for breakfast porridge (grits being a type), corn starch, and corn meals: a sort of more solid porridge or dumpling eaten with soups and stews (AKA 'ugali' in East Africa, 'pap' in South Africa, 'banku' in Ghana, etc.), or lots of other uses. The dried cob has sundry uses including use burning for fuel. The dried husks are used as wrappings of many corn-based foods (depending on the country / region) and as fuel etc. The leaves and stalk are also have many local uses, but mostly as fuel. This particular farm is not for sale. Here we rent hectares of land for you to invest and grow garlic on. There is much farmland in Rwanda for sale, the price depends on your budget.

@@firashebili As a foreigner you can buy or lease/rent land. it depends on what your objectives are. Personally, I think it's always great to partner with the locals. Remember, life is tough enough for them so you always want to ADD value to the equation. Obviously, you need to find the RIGHT local to partner with. It has been my experience that people have bought land $3500 and up. Nothing can take the place of getting there and seeing for yourself. When you do you will see opportunities you've never thought of.

Jay, the facility is owned and operated by the company as is some of the land. As far as any investor goes they would lease/rent the land throughout the contract period .
