It's 100% nutrition for me. I work my ass off outside and in the gym, doing weight training and cardio, but I can't get the nutrition right. I'm either undereating (feeling weak and hungry all the time) or overeating. I hate nutrition :)
Its all a challenge for all of us. But cooking can become something you can relatively enjoy once you get into it. Well I believe the idea of making your own food is pretty cool IMO.
I currently weight 116 KG while only being 16 years old, my diet started today and I'll be back in a year to my own comment to check in case I succeeded or failed, April-1-2021

I didn't feel better but after going on a run I feel like I'm faster and feel like I can go longer. I find eating light every meal and more snacks helps me not get hungry. Good luck man!
Cut sugar and refined carbs out. Eat fewer times per day too. Keep insulin and Cortisol in check. Eat lots of veggies and salads with good fats. Then lots of wild caught salmon and grass fed beef, etc. Do your weight lifting, H.I.I.T. , walking, swimming, etc. Get some sunshine or take some vite D and also get good sleep.

Thank you sir. My weight loss and training have increased significantly thanks to these videos. I've come down from 368lbs to 245lbs. It's a big change in my life and I love it.
Abdiel Quezada I have a pretty bad diet. eating subway pretty much everyday. I still happen to maintain a caloric deficit and getting most of my protein from Whey. I am making solid progress. In the past 8 weeks I have lost over 14 pounds of bodyfat while putting on over 7 pounds of skeletal muscle mass according to Inbody measurements . So technically I AM out training my bad diet. Sorry Jeff, I am a living proof that your quote is wrong and will continue to prove you wrong . Hard work can beat anything. Take care guys.
I keep coming back to these videos because they've helped me so much. Over the last few years I was at my highest weight and extremely depressed. I'm very short and got up to ~130 ("overweight"). My blood tests started showing prediabetes, and other health problems. I did everything I could to change, starting with my diet, got referred to a nutritionist (an MD, who told me literally almost the same things I learned by watching Jeff). I focused solely on my diet, exercising when I could. I am down to 115lb (healthy weight), lost a lot of fat % and muscle up 4%. This all happened within the last 6 mos! I feel so proud of myself, but I could never have done it without my dietician and Jeff Cavalier teaching me the right way to do this. And no, I am not paid to say this, Jeff, unfortunately, doesn't even know I exist! But I hope it motivates you to keep moving forward!
Hey everyone! Recently I was diagnosed with Corona so I had to stay in self isolation for 14 days. I'm 15 so I had to literally stay in my room all day. My parents would just have to sort of drop each of my meals outside of my door every day. This meant that I wasnt really snacking on things like chocolate, crisps/chips, soda, etc. For about a year now I've been trying to lose that last layer of stubborn fat, trying every method out there. But from these last 14 days of just drinking water and eating only the three meals, I've finally lost it! So my tip to anyone who is trying to lose fat, or maybe just a little bit, quit the schnacking. It's amazing how much it did for me. Obviously for some with health conditions they'll need to snack but you get my point.
There was a much better and deeper message than that. The gummy bear thing explains how doing intense exercises like burpees doesn't burn all that many calories. And eating the entire bag is diminishing returns
Im 6ft and weighed 214lbs almost 5 weeks ago. I work out 3 times a week for roughly an hour, with small cardio sessions after every workout. I cut out all sugar intake and replaced all sugary drinks with water. Just simply doing that, which is nothing crazy i lost just right at 10lbs in 4 weeks and continuing to lose weight. Im 28, I haven't been this lean in almost 5-6. years. Cut out sugar, increase water intake, be conscious of what you eat, and move around and exercise a few times a week. I have more energy, happier, more confident, and very efficient and get shit done faster and more effectively (I am a nursing student). You can do it, discipline is key. Without it you will be stagnant, period.
This was a good reality check, I’ve been training a lot more but I hit a plateau in my weight loss because I haven’t cleaned up my diet nearly enough. Thanks for the tips!

Well after being a long time sub and probably watched nearly all these videos at least 10 times over the years and failing....I have finally done it. Completely trashed all the crap food in the house and made up my mind for good..I refuse to eat like I used to. I honestly feel so much better than I used to. Thanks Jeff. Your physical fitness and nutrition guidance is legit, all that was missing was MY commitment.

I’ve been on a calorie deficit for 2 weeks now and I’m going strong surprisingly, and I’ve lost around nearly 5 kg! I’m really close to my goal and I’m so happy
That's what I do. I gained weight too little too fast which is mostly fat from eating 3 huge meals a day, now going back to the basics, cardio every day, eating at least 5 meals a day and hard workouts every day
When I first started training I wheighed 97 kilo's (i'm 190 cm tall)but then I began to do intermitten fasting and I cleaned up my diet. Now about 5 months later I wheigh 82 kilo's so cleaning up your diet really works!
Make your own Keto burger. Use Portobello mushroom caps for the buns, use some fattier hamburger, season with salt and pepper, and if you want something similar to fires use asparagus cut to french fry size. Boom. Healthy burger and fries. And if you want to add more flavor, aim for single ingredient options.

For me, i lost 10kg in about 8 weeks just from eating a lot less. Say i was eating about 2200 calories a day, i cut that down to 1600, sometimes less. I also went gym a few times a week. That massive calorie deficit completely stripped me of my fat. So basically, if your significantly overweight, just eat at least 500 calories less a day, and try doing a bit more excersise, and you will lose weight very quickly
My workout (lost 5% bf in 2 weeks) EACH DAY: - 30mins of cycling (@ 8.5MET or higher, about 300-380 kcal ) - 30mins of power-training (about 100-200kcal probably, depends on your rest time a lot, I only rest when switching machines / weights for about 10-20 seconds or so) - 20mins of boxing (high intensity, also about 300kcal) So an average of about 700kcal burnt per day, training. Now add your metabolic rate at rest (2400 for me). I have 3100 kcal worth of burn each day. My diet comprises of: ° 40g of oatmeal + coffeecup of milk OR 2 eggs with two slices of bread in the morning ° A banana or some vegetable source of carbs like two or three carrots (just to keep some energy during the day) at noon ° A normal healthy dinner (keep potatoes / pasta / rice low, low percentage of cooking fats and no or little sauce). This is about 1600-1700kcal. So 3100kcal - 1650kcal = 1450 kcal burnt per day from mostly adipose tissue (fat). It won't show on the scale that way, but 1450 kcal roughly translates to 170g of fat or 1/3 lbs. You should be losing up to 170g of fat every day (my actual progress, with some lesser days and some days more active than planned, doesn't veer too much from those figures, as I said, 5% bf loss in 2 weeks with 3 resting days (still on diet on those days and deficit in kcal)). It could be higher too, since there's waste energy in the conversion process. I was at 24.6 % bf, now I'm at 19.6%. I've lost 2kgs of weight too, but I'm not focusing on weight too much. Just wanna see my muscles pop out everywhere. I'm going for 9-10% bodyfat. I'm gonna start increasing caloric intake and building more muscle around the 13-15% mark (500kcal deficit instead of 1400kcal, more protein in my diet, less cycling/boxing and more weights). I'm also now going to add burpees and jumping rope into the mix.
Sophrosynicle That’s amazing that you lost so much weight that quickly, but if you want your muscles to pop and look fuller and healthier I’d suggest consuming more protein, carbs, and calories overall in your diet. That would supply your body and muscles with the nutrition needed to grow and recover. Idk your body type so I can’t say anything for sure, but the diet you mentioned does not sound very sustainable or full of enough nutrients to grow to your maximum potential. I know it’s been 5 months so maybe you’re already on track and have a great nutrition and workout plan in place. Just thought I’d offer some help if I could. Keep up the good work!!!
Omfg thats exactly what i do. Like i dont wanna be rude and not eat at whatever place (usually a buffet in this case) my family goes to, so i go all out. And then, i use that as an excuse to be a fatass lol
12345 12345 That’s not how that works. It’s about being greatful for what you have. There are kids in China, that wish they could be eating; so why waste the food that others wish they could eat?
I was 97 kilos when I decided I wanted to see my abs and get fit or healthy I used to get headaches palpertations all the time and had this unquenchable thirst all the time, I started training on the 1st of July this year until present day, I'm now 82 kilos that's 33 pounds buggered off. I do have to admit I'm on the keto diet or lifestyle and cut an enormous amount of calories from my diet, but I train nearly every day, for me personally it's the only thing that has worked and I'm 42 years old now. I'm the same weight I was in my early 20s and still have I reckon about 8 or 9 pounds to go. I gone from a size 38 to 40 inch waist to a 34 inch waist. And yes I went cold turkey, I guess I'm determined.

Ruthless Bone Some people like me are poor. For me to eat, it isn't about eating the healthiest thing out there it's about putting something, anything in my body.
Eating healthy as a poor person is actually very easy. Buy the raw ingredients and plan out your meals a week ahead of time or even a month ahead of time if you like to go that far. All you really need is one veggie each meal and balanced macros. Much cheaper then eating off the dollar menu at a fast food joint.
i can eat healthy off 50$ a week. chicken, eggs, oatmeal, brown rice, broccoli, greek yogurt, cottage cheese, and a few other things for my healthy fats. Its really simple. But most people cant eat the same thing every day.
I'm fasting on the weekends and keeping a deficit at around 1500 calories during the week, I replace my normal work lunch which would be an unknown quantity probably around 800 calories with a bannana, v8, and core power shake spread over a few hours, then I eat a mostly normal dinner. While keeping the portion of that dinner in mind and under control. down from 231.6 on October 11th, to 217.2 on November 14 2022. Keep up the good work everyone.
At the beginning of last year, I went from drinking at least 4L of soft drink a week to only water for 1 month and I went from about 85kg to 78kg. Now I limit my soft drink intake and I've remained between 77k and 81kg since.
What i get from this is to eat right, eat healthy and get your nutrition in check dont eat junk food, and do cardio workouts try the cardio you like along with weight training

It takes some time. First off, you need to get your diet In order. No exercise is worth doing if your eating habits is poor. Getting in shape is 80% all about what you put into your body. Other 20% is exercise If you want a fast way to lose weight then go here: FatFactory.xyz

Dudes getting jacked up. Would be nice to have Jeff as a personal trainer.
well..he kinda already is our personal trainer :D with all those hundreds of videos he uploaded about exercises and nutrition, you can have all the knowledge you need to get the body you want thanks to him
When I talk about him to my GF I use the title "my trainer" indeed in the discussion :)
I want Jeff to adopt me.
He started with low BF. So not that hard. What's really hard is doing it with 25% bf and seeing no results in months.
MG
no, on the contrary. The lower I got on body fat and weight the harder it is to keep it low. Initially, even eating slightly less will reduce your bf big time easily. When you're trained af it is way more often you hit plateaus!
if anyone needs some motivation, start right now because if u don’t, a year from now u would’ve wished u started earlier. do it so ur future self will thank u!!!!!
Great job! It’s our job to motivate each other and educate newbies!

PsCqNoVa Nick same I started making my own food and the creativity it taps into is actually super satisfying
Making small changes in the fat content in your food can really help to decrease calories without actually decreasing the volume of food :)

Apotheosis go ahead whatever works for u lol
I was 232 3 weeks ago. I'm 214 now, completely.changed my diet and I do at least a 10 hour fast every other day. Workout 4 days a week. I love it!!!!

I waited 8 minutes just to hear him tell me to go on a diet
There was a much better and deeper message than that. The gummy bear thing explains how doing intense exercises like burpees doesn't burn all that many calories. And eating the entire bag is diminishing returns
Khalsa Singh that's not at all what he said lmao, a diet is temporary
He never mentioned a diet. He mentioned a change in your eating lifestyle.
A diet is temporary, changing the way you eat is a lifelong dedication.
why is everyone saying a diet is temporary? I've been on a diet for 4 years now and don't plan on stopping😪😪
Patrick Little then it's not a diet it's your lyfestyle
Jeff that type of cavaliere to take one grain of rice out the plate because it's over his caloric intake.
He take another one out of his plate with his other hand to avoid muscle imbalance
Then he'd put the same grain back with both hands, in order to meet his caloric intake AND prevent muscle imbalances.

It is a great one of a kind product for discovering a short fat loss workout minus the headache. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my work buddy at very last got excellent results with it.
My workout (lost 5% bf in 2 weeks) EACH DAY:
- 30mins of cycling (@ 8.5MET or higher, about 300-380 kcal )
- 30mins of power-training (about 100-200kcal probably, depends on your rest time a lot, I only rest when switching machines / weights for about 10-20 seconds or so)
- 20mins of boxing (high intensity, also about 300kcal)
So an average of about 700kcal burnt per day, training.
Now add your metabolic rate at rest (2400 for me).
I have 3100 kcal worth of burn each day.
My diet comprises of:
° 40g of oatmeal + coffeecup of milk OR 2 eggs with two slices of bread in the morning
° A banana or some vegetable source of carbs like two or three carrots (just to keep some energy during the day) at noon
° A normal healthy dinner (keep potatoes / pasta / rice low, low percentage of cooking fats and no or little sauce).
I don't know about other things but you certainly burnt a lot of calories typing this comment.

Ruthless Bone Some people like me are poor. For me to eat, it isn't about eating the healthiest thing out there it's about putting something, anything in my body.
Josh Rodriguez true when it comes to the pyramid of life. I understand where you're coming from bro.
That's a matter of discipline my friend. I would happily eat all that yummy food each day.
Very true. Eating healthy contributes to at least 90% success of losing weight.
At the beginning of last year, I went from drinking at least 4L of soft drink a week to only water for 1 month and I went from about 85kg to 78kg. Now I limit my soft drink intake and I've remained between 77k and 81kg since.
An extra thumbs up for Jesse's effort. Poor guy
What i get from this is to eat right, eat healthy and get your nutrition in check dont eat junk food, and do cardio workouts try the cardio you like along with weight training
