2:44 I performed that at my local gym; and I almost broke my arm / face . Mainly it was due to my leg(s) being slipperly . Since I was new in doing it, I am glad I learned how to retain my mobility in performing those daily . Thanks so much for rest of other methods
Definitely have to be careful when doing any move on the monkey bars!
@@redefiningstrengthOC I wouldn’t do monkey bars at a gym, isn’t there like hard flooring there?
I do it on a playground with the matting that prevents injury
Love this video!!!! I do the first one and the last one literally everyday thanks to you. Will definitely try the other ones too
Aw sounds like fun!
Thanks, can't wait to try all of these!
I love monkey bars and I have fantastic grip with them , even thought I know lots of exercises with them and tricks I really needed more and this video was just what I wanted thank you l
YESSS!!! finally who is the same as me! Im 10 years old and im a boy on my sis account I've been climbing since I was 5 years old and from experience its way more easy to use your thumbs as a extra finger and use it as a hook instead of putting it around the bottom of the bar.
Superb, best part of this channel is, you just get on with it, no long winded chat!
hehe nope!
For the last exercise if you anchor yourself at the first two rungs of the ladder you can do straight body leg extensions, those are awesome.
cool! Glad you have fun with those!
At my house in JUST A VERY SMALL PART OF our yard, (we own about 97 acres, no joke) we have a jungle gym with a tower, a ladder to climb up to it, a fire pole to slide down from it, high monkey bars, a gymnastics bar, a teeter-totter, a swing set, a balance beam-like-thing, a tree house, a rope to climb, a 12 foot slide, those wooden rings where you do pull ups on and front supports and go upside down on, and a sand box, and a wobbly bridge to get to the other side of the jungle gym. That's our jungle gym. And those are cool work out moves on the monkey bars.
She's so strong
Thanks!
how to safely prepare for skin the cat? what are some early movements we can do to work up to it?
Yay new stuff to try!
:-)
I'll try the last one tomorrow at gym
Great job, you make it look effortless.
+Flip Andrew haha I tried! :-) Thanks!
I thought I was strong............. then I watched this and reality smacked me in the face.
hehe something to work toward!
Thank you for these! I have some at my gym tht i want to start incorporating into my workouts
wow.. thank you for inspiring all of us with your videos👍
My pleasure! Glad they help!
What kind of exercises do you do to make sure your shoulders are strong enough to handle these ?
Tried the weave for the first time. tough one and didn't make it the full length. but will try again next time.
Awesome! Yea it's a good one! Lots of grip work :-)
Andy Harrington ….llp
Nice. Try watching the stars when doing your pull ups. It is wonderful. Anyway, one needs to do something with the eyes. I did regular monkey bar with bending elbows today. It is going to get cold soon, monkey bars or rings or rope, I need something indoor for the winter. Picking now.
Wow! Inspiring. Thanks ❤☝🏽✊🏽🇵🇸
Love the names of the moves.
Skin the cat?!
you are strong really strong
The last one was great. Upside down sit ups
Very Cool! i am a trainer as well and love the bars and the playground stuff especially! keep it up
Awesome and thank you! We also have a playground video you should check out :-)

i watched it and I loved it I have a 6 yo Autistic child and we love to play and watching you and others like Ido Portal etc has made it so much more fun and playful which is what i like better than the serious workout!
Aw yes! Definitely more fun :-)
for sure ;)
I'm from England UK
My friends were all stronger than Me, but in Monkey Bar Fighting I always got them down.
Although I have never lost a Monkey Bar Fight after facing at least 50 opponents and having at least 500 Fights I still think you would have given me a run for my Money.
I've got 2 more moves for you to try...
1= Bunny Rabbit, when you hop/leap from one bar to the next, so basically you let go of the bar with both hands and try and leap into mid air and catch the next bar with both hands simultaneously.
2= Tornado, when you go from bar to bar from stating point to ending point whilst going in contentious circles.
You are better than me on the Monkey Bars and you've got more skills & moves, but in a Monkey Bar Fight I'd fancy myself to win as I would scissor-lock my legs round your waist, then start picking at your fingers until you dropped, but having said that you are amazing and I give you the full credit.
Is music very beautiful
What is name music
Please
You are the truth! 👍
haha thanks!
Great ... I love this channel...
Thanks!
Can't do any of these. Don't know how I was able to as a kid!!
Same I came here to remember how in the world I got down from the monkey bars as a kid lol 😆
This was a piece of cake for me as a kid. I’d go back and forth until my hands were severely blistered..I’ve just attempted to do the monkey bars as an adult and I couldn’t even get past two bars 😭
Pretty impressive, what about bat pull ups with leg hooks (if that is what they are called). I can do 3 sets of 10, though the 3rd set is tough.
+bof1701 That's awesome! Lots of options :-)
you have been amazing since then.
Are these clips sped up?? Great video!
must try! thanks
If you have any questions, let me know!
Thanks for the video. My 8 year old son just did all of the tricks. I wasn't so capable.
LOL
I will have to try a bunch of these. I usually just climb. Cool
So cool!
I love monkey bars i did all of them at school❤
They put monkey bars at my planet fitness, happy because I pay 10 dollars a month and they started adding more stuff. I love doing the monkey bars, it’s fun and challenging. Reminds me when I was younger.
Yay! So fun!
Did you have those monkey bars made for you or was that a product bought from some catalogue? I love the variations you used.
+Ezzilevy We got them made by Battlehouse Fitness. And thank you!
Go to win Ninja warrior games !
bahhaha
Guillaume Michigan I appreciate
yeh...... go2!!!!!!!!
Good job🙏👍 I wish i can do this too...😉😆
8 year old video. Are you still able to do money bars. Im having fun. My new gym has the full set up. Im going to start playing every day. It's fun
I meant to say that it’s so cool that you can do all of those stuff
hehe thank you!
Great video. I am just wondering if there is any video about the monkey bars that you are using. I had a quick look in the video list but couldn't find it. May I know which branch and spec? Thanks.
You’re AWESOME! 😎💪🏻
Thanks Kelly!
I saw she uses a hook grip, you wouldn't use an overhand grip when doing monkey bar exercises?
YES
I wonder how long it takes to be good at it. Been a week already and I can see some improvements
Depends on the move and where you are starting from. Just keep at it!
Pretty awesome, especially skin the cat. However, how do I try that one without hurting myself?
+Duy Khuu I would start with hanging abs and some ground work like shoulder stands as well as plough pose. The ground work will improve your upper back and shoulder mobility.
Then slowly start to circle and first just walk your feet onto the bars overhead and hold there. Then extend one leg over at first. And then when comfortable the other. Then play around with going further and further through.
Really work though on the flexibility of your upper back and shoulders though first. It is even helpful if you have rings or something closer to the ground to play around with that end position when you flip through!
Love that gym! Where is it?
Thank you! Costa Mesa, California, USA :-)
子供用にうんていを作ったので、自分でも運動してみます!こういう動画が欲しかった!
I made monkey bar for kids. But, I try to move also.Thank you!
:-) Awesome!
I wish i could do this in my life😩
Ok I don't mean to sound weak or anything but on the upside down situp, I do it basically the exact same way as in the video (the very last exercise shown) but I feel there's a lot of pressure just under the leg/under the knee where the bar is and it kinda hurts after a short while.
Is this normal? The exercise itself doesn't hurt but just hanging there feels very uncomfortable.
+Midnight Snacks Depending on the bar I've done them off of...yes..it can dig in. Play around with your positioning a bit. I find if I can get it a bit more on my calf, it isn't as uncomfortable.
Ohh okay I see. I'll try that, thanks for the response :)
Norixciii it is normal all exercises are like that
Norixciii at my gym there are these circular pads that people put on bars when they’re doing squats, to cushion the back of their neck instead of resting the weight directly on the back of the neck. I took one of those pads and put it on the bars for that same cushion effect because it was kinda painful in the back of my knees/legs like you said. It fit perfectly and solved that problem. I also wear sweatpants. Or if there isn’t a pad availability I make with my jacket. It’s respectable to do that because at the end of the day, if you’re trying to strengthen your core, you will be able to do that easier if you’re not having to also endure pain/discomfort from too much focused pressure at a different place in your body.
yeah i can't do any of that. What are my other options?
Where did you get your rig/monkey bar system? I am looking for one.
I have trouble hanging from monkey bars by my knees: it hurts behind them too much! Any idea what is different? I used to all the time.
Wicked
Yes, about the last exercise, once I tried it the way you did it like in the middle of the monkey bars and i hit my face because I got used to doing it on the edges so I have more space to go all the way up now I ask is this way -the way going all the way up like ur face kinda reach ur knees - a better one or does it affect something? I just wonder.
There are benefits to both. Just know why you are using them. If you won't bash your face, a fuller range of motion is great :-)
2:43 if I could do that I would freak out so much in fall down to the ground I would be so much of at pain
awesome
Thanks!
how can you do that shoulder angle? are you flexible? i have so many questions.
Am I flexible...enough...but definitely not as mobile as I could be. On the skin the cats I'm assuming? That definitely requires you to work on mobility and strengthen through the range of motion too.
ok thanks. :)
I can go to nearly being completely stright/ vertical but I am hypermobile. The further you go over, the harder it is to get back round
It will be nice to have different size of monkey bars but I can always use a false grip.
Super
where to buy this monkey bar?
oh wow!! I also want to do this but I dont have stamina
Start with just a move or two and build up :-)
Strong
I use dominate monkey bars kindergarten through fourth grade. What happened to me? Damn you old age.
haha I think it's also we realize that falling hurts. When you're a kid you don't think about it as much for sure too haha
Most other students at the primary I attend
can skip two bars easily for some reason
Keep on working at it! You can do it!
thats so cool
How do you deal with the strain on your palms?
Build up with lots of grip work!
I’ve tried to do monkey bars and feel like I’m completely unable... even just holding the bar gives my hands blisters. Any advice?
Gloves!
Have you tried the monkey bar regular with underhand grip
No. While you could do chin ups seems sort of pointless to go across them that way.
Redefining Strength it may help to break weighted chin up plateaus
I can hang for 10 seconds but too scared to move on. Please advise how to overcome the fear. Thanks in advance.
Start on a lower bar you can touch your toes down on.
Don't you get Calluses (Blisters) on your palms?? What do you do about it??
I've built up calluses which I love and have practiced not overgripping to avoid blisters.
@@redefiningstrengthOC ha ha I can relate to it ,I have calouses it is normal after 2 year working out on rings or bar but never had a blisters ,yes perhaps people who never done this can have blisters they hands are to soft and ,plus Im a tradesman using heavy tools all the time so my hands are different than person who is working in office bit more rough
you can also sit or loe down on the top pf the bar its kinda easy..
+Jeffrey Wu haha yes you could.
+Redefining Strength
Thanks!
Antonius Sewuchi Thanks!
wow..... good girl !!
Thanks!
Damn! Not to sound sexist or anything, but for a woman, you are remarkably strong!
haha thank you!
You're welcome :)
What name sound tack
The proper performing of last excersize for girls is - hands not holding t-shirt.
How do you not get blisters? My hands always end up with blisters :(
Lots of work and calluses built up haha
Same with me
جيد
I can do that i practice gym
Monkey seat how did you get up there
Just a little warning if you’re planning on doing this. Because I just had a go and shredded my hands to bits. Basically that might happen 😂😂😂
i do money bar to
When I do monkey bar workouts I always rip off my blisters. Do you have any advice how can I avoid riping off?
Thank you!
Make sure to take care of your calluses. You do need to occasionally "shave" them down before and even keeping a good tacky lotion on them can help. You may also be overgripping or even not slowly building up.
Whoa she's very strong , she can lift a chair
STALL BAR INDONESIA
the skin the cat is so weird like How did you do that :/
I love you
I want your hand skin😅
All are east
You are strong and beautiful as well😊
I can't do even one of them.
I am 9 I can do these tricks
My arms hurt
I used to be able to do the monkey bars, but whenever I try them now my hands are sweaty and I can’t hold on😬
Chalk can help
Redefining Strength thank you, I will have to try it out!
hey ! You look like acctress Dakota Johnson in fifty shades of grey !!!
haha thanks!
I do not know why I have such a problem with the monkey bars now. It's ridiculous.
Is it a fear of heights? Or grip problems? I ask because maybe I can provide tips!
Thanks! Well, I can do pull-ups no problem. For example, I can usually do between 8-12 strict pull-ups fresh. After that I'll do my workout put in 3-4 pull-ups between other exercises. But on the monkey bars I can't seem to move more than two or three bars ahead without losing my grip. I believe it's a grip issue, and my abs are also much weaker relative to my back.
😅😅❤
And that is so call that you can do all of those stuff
