I think the fact they take 2D and 3D commissions is also a little sus, I don't know many people who commissions in both styles. Usually people specialize a bit more
You're absolutely right, 2D and 3D rigging are *very* different ballparks to the point that learning both is too massive a time sink. Especially since a 3D vtuber artist usually does all aspects of the 3D work--modeling, rigging, texturing, sometimes even coding--by themselves. A 2D artist would make a reference sheet for a 3D artist (which is actually extremely important) or a 3D artist might have the skills to make the illustrations to hand off to a 2D rigger, but that's usually the extent of the overlap. Unless the 3D is just Vroid Studio, but those chaps usually mention that they're Vroid artists.
@@leahnzastrzelecki5217 Exactly! I have friends who can do both 3d and 2d animation/rigging, but they all have a clear preference for one or the other, and definitely wouldn't dream of offering commissions for both services. It's just too much work to keep your skills up to date for both mediums.

Yesssss how do ALL of them do both? Especially the one with real art (who doesn't seem stolen either) who's clearly not very good (not that a beginner shouldn't take comission but at that level I don't think any real person would try both 2D & 3D and attempt to sell it since they'd have a hard time with even one of them. You'd probably only be able to do 2D at max.)

I imagine it's either for personal pleasure, or for blackmail as the comment above me said. You already had a case where people were making AI porn of Taylor Swift, and years back you had people leaking and selling celebrity nudes that were hacked from their accounts. There have already been cases of people trying to use AI to fake evidence or frame people, so this is unfortunately going to become a more prevalent issue as the technology develops.
Because creeps now have an avenue to get what they want easier now.

To be fair some new Vtuber artists make new twitter accounts and stuff specifically for Vtuber commishes. They will have some examples of other kinds of art, so i could see other people falling for that

All of these accounts are probably followed by bots because with what we've seen for the most part they don't post anything to do with what's in their bio or barely so it's unlikely that anyone would follow an artist who never posts art or a streamer who's twitch link leads to the twitch homepage or someone who just rt's the same 2 other people all the time without posting anything 😂

@@katliente same!!! Like, OMG!!! You looked more into it than I did but in honesty the one followed me while I was at work so didn’t have time to look like you did.
4 people on Twitter immediately asked me to make something for them, and when I looked into their account, they say they're an artist, but no art.
I've seen these scam artists a lot now, I was approached by one and strangely enough, A friend and I did a bit of investigation and we found out that the twitter account that this scammer is using is actually connected to a v-tuber on twitch. The dead giveaway is that the "artist" linked this streamer's twitch on their account even though they have their own twitch but no streams or anything. Later on we found out that this streamer was actually controlling this twitter account as my buddy went for a fake art commission and we realize that the art they're posting is AI generated. this artist was streaming live on twitch and whenever my friend was DMing the "artist" the streamer was AFK or in a BRB screen as the scam was going on.
To make this long story short, never trust any artist on any social media that pops out of nowhere and asks if they can make art for you or ask for commissions. 100% a scam, i get there's starving artists out there but it's going to be difficult to differentiate legit artists and scammers now.
This is sadly extremely common 😭 I’m an administrator for a pretty big discord community for small streamers, and on a bad day we sometimes ban upwards of 10+ of these accounts per day. There’s no sign of it stopping and people fall for them so easily
I feel bad for you because it probably gets really frustrating at times
Plus you would think that if these were real vtuber modelers, they would have gifs or videos of their models in motion.

typically i've only heard vtuber artists refer to themselves as "artist" tho :o but maybe thats just me bc i myself an not a vtuber :o but i've heard vsinger and vrapper for instance!

@@katliente yes the majority of them just call themselves a regular Vtuber but there is some who called themselves a Vartist where they do content only associating with art

What gets me is all of the "artists" all have very regular (regular for English) sounding names. It's like they picked random names from a two lists, common first names and common last names. Vtubers generally have "odd" or "quirky" sounding names or they have a username sounding name.

At 4:25 the rear hair and tails being very similar in style and two-toned fur has me to believe the ai tried to make the ponytail and the tails way to similar with a base prompt. The low res of 512x512p is standard for stable diffusion v1-1.5. If it was a v2 or sdxl model the resolution can be done in 720p to 1080p native based on the checkpoint models and lora models.
The fact in the lower left is dissembodied tails. Suggest the user has no idea how to use negative prompts and embedding files correctly.
There are a ton of shading mistakes that i noticed pretty easily. The face just doesnt look downscaled or compressed in a way jpeg of downsampling a artwork would cause a image to look like.
No hate towards ai. But, if people are gonna sell art thats done via ai. It should be advertised as such.
Around 5:39 when you zoomed on the left hand. The pinky looks like its posisitioned where the thumb should be. Because the sizing perspective is wrong.

I love how many flaws can still be pointed out that even if we look at it from the point of view of an "AI Artist", they are still godawful at their job.

There was ¥0 raised at that point too because why would you give money to someone to buy a gaming pc to become a vtuber? Uh thats kinda not that related at all to this now that i think about it... It might be kinda chronically online, but i replied to someone on reddit that was saying ai made art "more accessible" and looking at up votes it looks like their view was more popular, which felt weird coming from r/curatedtumblr lol
Well the truth is many people will probably choose AI "art" in certain circumstances over getting a actual artist to do it why? Because its cheaper and from a distance it looks fine
So if your doing something small maybe like a profile icon , many people will choose to do that.
AI is not making art more accessible in the sense that people are becoming artists more easily , but in the sense that its giving more people the opportunity to get custom "Art"
Its stupid and I think that personalised art is not something you NEED but the fact is that with more and more people spending a lot of their social life on the internet , how you choose to represent yourself as is becoming something that a lot of people put a lot of emphasis on.
This is only my thoughts on the matter tho.

Me and a friend called out that rose "vtuber" for using Ai "art" and with in minutes of my friend quote tweeting him, they responded telling us to "Detect by yourself." Then blocked us right after we sent proof.
As someone that commissioned multiple artist I mainly only commission someoen that got a lot of examples or a artist freind I seen and know they don’t trace

Something that bothers me about the AI pictures, except for people claiming it's art that they drew, is that they're so obviously ai. I get having messy AI backgrounds (if you want to use that), but AI, even free AI has gotten good enough that you shouldn't have to post it with these mistakes, and if you really wanted to scam someone (not that you should) then at least make it look good, or photoshop it.
Not saying you should scam anyone, but this is just too low effort.
Also in my opinion AI "art" should only be for your personal use (like a dnd character or a cute oc or something, and only if you can't afford the real deal).
Yeah, my take on it is that AI can be a tool like any others. And just like any tools, it can easily be used wrong. Hammer a screw might get work done, but the end result will be full of cracks.
I have nothing against artists generating AI backgrounds so they can focus more time making great characters for examples. However even in those scenarios, the background and foreground would be separate. So if the background and character literally warp each other, its indicative that both of them were generated by AI at the same time.
frrrr when you see the most obvious ai pic that you know they took the first one the ai made and then they claim they made it but the hair disappear behind the arms & the clothes are melting in the skin. 😭 Im like, at least make the effort of not taking the first image the ai gives you or is spending more than 3minutes on an image too much for you? Then Im like no wonder you use ai 💀
I’m my own vtuber artist XD and I have too many examples (models, art, promo material, etc) and I don’t even sell/commission stuff.
I bet it just one person with multiple accounts.

Whenever I get followed, I look at their followers over their following. If the number isn't even close to 1 or higher, I don't follow back. Chances are they are bots and the last thing I ever want is a DM being like "Hey, would you like to commission some art from me?" or whatever the bots say now a days. I'm not a vtuber, nor do I claim to be one but I still get 'artists' who have 'Live 2D/3D rigger artist' etc in their twitter names following me. I don't know. I feel like I am just a little more paranoid on twitter I guess or something.
I do the same. I always check their followers and what they tweet for something.

I just got out of art school (i studied graphic design). like seeing how the things are drawned is one thing. but the text on some of the stuffi s so bad, it hurts my eyes
frrrrr I did better graphic design with my three powerpoints I made in highschool than this "design agency" makes while claiming to be professional designers 😭 It looks like they think graphic design is still supposed to look like how it was in 2007 💀
There’s one thing I’ve notice from all the accounts you’ve looked at. Most of them have the same styled art (at least I believe so), and one of them had the completed looking art that another account had unfinished

I have close to 250 of these accounts blocked on Twitter. I'm a small vtuber, and they swarm around us looking for the young and inexperienced to rip off. I'm glad larger accounts are calling attention to it.

I can't say the people in my DMs are from this Agency, but I've had DOZENS of Artists in my DMs over the past 2-3(ish) Years. All claiming to be Artists, VTuber Artists, ect.
Many of which present me with the same art. However, one I actually solicited sent me some more original artwork, and I recognized one of their pieces, and it was IronMouse. This Lady claimed there was some contest on Twitter to make Mousey's Model, and she Won. I can't say how true it is or isn't, but I certainly liked the Mousey Model. I still have this Lady on Discord.
Damn I just started watching and these stuff u talk about are so real! Like I’m an artist and I never thought of using one drawing for everything! Or not posting commission info. Like I learned to make the basic website that would look good to show off my art and I don’t do commissions until it will be finished so people can trust me QWQ like I would feel bad for just saying “DM Me for more info” like gurl why would anyone dM sus person where there is 1. So many scammers, 2. Not any guarantee they would want ur stuff 😭😭😭

Not having any sort of pricing and forcing dms is just kind of annoying to me. From a buyer's perspective, I don't want to go out of my way to dm (especially with how weird twitter dms are recently) and possibly get the artist's hopes up only to not buy. From a seller's perspective, I'm busy, and it's SO much easier to have somewhere for potential clients to look than to tell every different person the same thing every time. I get pretty much the same at work every so often, and it's not even my section of the work.
As soemone who learnt how to read Hiragana, Katakana, and a bit of Kanji from Duolingo, I can confidently say that the bunny girl’s speech bubble doesn’t resemble any hiragana or katakana I’ve ever seen, and it looks like it’s in Korean.
The fact that Jane’s acc uses Axia Krone’s(former Niji JP talent) face and passed it through ai again to be their fake profile makes me sad as a former fan of Krone
i had a few of those Scammers in my Twitter DMs and its always the same bad Artstyle and Reply Spamming.
I almost got scammed,I saw someone who I wanted to support them by commissioning them but thank god I didn’t they got got exposed for ai art

I took arts honors in high school for us to pass. We had to make everything she said that this person‘s missing missing. Even if we were not going to continue being a private artist after high school or if we weren’t going into art in college. We had to have the portfolio separated into different categories based on what materials we used. Then we had to have pieces from different things style anything any kind of set

i am by no means good at character or line art but i think one of the things i tend to shine with is like layer based graphic design(like text and album covers, i love making phonk covers) -
but i noticed that something extremely glaring about these accounts is their inability to make a cohesive banner image...
like making the text look good and legible with contrasting colors is like... such a basic skill....'

11:00 forgetting to colour in the background between hair makes kinda sense if you're working on one layer/are a beginner artist who just forgot to do so. Slip-ups happen.
With a vtuber model, it's a dead give-away though, because you háve to draw the entire background anyways because your model will move around, and different parts of the background will be visible. In a lot of cases, the background is drawn completely separate, and then the model is put on later. So it makes no sense that the artist (AI) "forgot" to colour between the hair
yeah but beginners artists probably can't draw water like that & won't have such a detailed & well rendered drawing. That's the kind of mistakes uou make when you start making digital art & nobody at that level has such smooth lines, and everything.

Oh god, freaking JANE is in this video. That person was messaging me several months back, trying to lure me into getting commissions. When I was talking to them, which seemed to be a normal convo at first, all they did was try to change the subject to models and how they were cheaper for commissions. EVEN THOUGH I NEVER EVEN TRIED TO TALK TO THEM ABOUT THAT. When they realized I wasn't caring about their convo on models and prices, they likely got annoyed and then unfollowed me lmao. They have their Twitch in their bio, which literally has no record of videos on there, lol.
You didn't notice that the girl in the fullbody shot when you look at their gallery seems to be the same drawing as one of the other accounts say they made but with slight changes + the "older pieces" that are very certainly real and that they all show as examples of older art seem to all be in the same art style 17:50
I gave an account like this a little attention without realizing it was a scammer, and then they asked me about wanting a commission, I looked closer at the account and went oops and blocked lol. Then I got several similar accounts following me

as an artist myself, i do want to say that you don't always want to make your own banner, i don't make my own banner bcs idk what to do for it. i also know artists who use like, characters pics instead of their own art as pfp so idk about this idea that artists should have a banner and pfp they drew to be legit
i also don't have a card and only get commissions from DM. I do understand your point but a lot of artists do things you say is a red flag.
Context matters here. I follow a lot of artists who also accept commissions from dms, but when these AI profiles advertise as being a professional artist and taking vtuber comissions, you would think they would at least list their prices or have smtg more to show than just a single piece, especially when being part of an agency.
Noooooo that's not what she meant, she even said SHE took commissions in dm at one point, it's all the details adding up as a whole who are sketchy. She never said that doing one or two of those things is bad but since that's how a lot of scammers do it it's best if you try to not do that since it can make people suspicious : / For the banner she was talking about the fonts, not the drawing in the background for the one without the profile pic character in it, they all say they're designers and choose an horrible font that doesn't go well at all with the background. And for the characters ones even if you can use the same drawing it is weird to have all of these cropped exactly the same way they are in the profile pic (usually you'd crop it in a way to put forward the face in at least the pfp or banner, these are screaming no effort which usually of you're an artist you'd know how to make you pfp/banner look different even with the same art)

on twitter they're rampant, lots of people who think that because they can write prompts they can suddenly do anything in art.

that's because some of the things that makes it obvious it's ai are things that beginners do except beginners don't have that kind of level of rendering 99% of the time. However people still criticized her a lot for saying they were signs of Ai & some young beginner artists do take it to heart & feel bad about it so she has to make it clear -every time- so that these two categories don't misunderstand or she gets lots of comments criticizing her for this & beginners saying "I do ___ but Im not an ai "artist" 😢" every two comments. 😅 So that's why now she says disclaimers all the time about this.
