- We convert the power rake from manual to hydraulic turn, add on a rock guard, then chase down a new case drain hose. Then test out the upgrades to see if we have them working at the lot.

The moment those CAT guys started sliding around on their office chairs rather than standing up to serve you, i knew you were in for it.
Can you say lazy!
@@MishaDaBear lol yup Crapapillar.
@@bert26a Scatterpillar ;)
The guys says= Ive only got about 30 seconds to help you. 35 minutes later...
@@Dirtmonkey Do you have a power rake for the mini too? :) Also can these take off grass?? i find you get way to much debris using a bobcat S70
Over here on east coast we use those power rakes to knock the rocks out of our top soil to get to finish grade
You're one of the three people who I strive to emulate. You are definitely an all around good guy. (Love the work ethic, growth mindset, and kindness!)
I appreciate that. Have a good week bud!
Good Afternoon thank you to all who have served and gave their lives for this country happy Memorial Day!
Well said👊
Thank you 🙏
You’re very welcome 😊
Watch the Corbett report please. Very important.
Awesome, I would honestly like to see a head to head comparison with all the different competitive models.
That would be cool!
Hi Stan I just wanna say that you have tought me many things about construction and I wanna say that I started my own company named IMB Remodeling and because of what you ha tought me it’s helped me and my few workers and we are going strong THANKYOU
That is awesome! Such a cool thing your doing. Best of luck- God Bless and Go Get Em!
Can’t wait to see what’s in store on the next one. Brilliant work Stan and thanks for sharing this with us take care
Glad you enjoyed it
@@Dirtmonkey Sure did Stan. Hope you are doing good
I love it you get into the power rakes!
Stan I love the look on your face when they were discussing the fitting the hydraulic shop would of handed it to you off the shelf in 30 seconds it’s like they were engineering the fitting. I keep about a dozen of them on hand couple of different sizes in my tool box and a few in the trucks cheap insurance and hardly any downtime
Might I suggest adding one each of the quick disconnect fittings if your machine has any. When they start to leak is is generally from dirt or what will look like a toothpick ended the matting surface. They are rebuildable, just quicker to exchange then rebuild on a rainy day or free time
a pile of spare parts is handy- until it gets cluttered which happens to me
@@Dirtmonkey trust me I have been known to buy spares and forget where I put them more then a few time's
@@Dirtmonkey harbor freight has an organizer with about four clear plastic boxes where the parts could be kept by size or purpose with the top compartment for a couple of eight inch crescents to use for changing out components about 15” tall 10” wide and about 5” thick
Thank you Stan you always point out differences that not being a hydraulic guy wouldn't think off. Aussie Jeff
Thanks for the feedback- I take what you guys tell me and use that to make improvements
THANKS STAN !!! ALWAYS LOVE ❤️ YOUR CHANNEL AND CONTENT. GOD BLESS 🙏🙏 YOU AND YOUR FAMILY !!!!
Thanks for watching! and have an awesome week👊
Great video!!
Those upgrades look like they will help out a lot
Hope so!
I’ve got the Bobcat soil conditioner and absolutely love it. With a tiny flick of a button on the joystick i can control the depth. It’s for residential property, not commercial use, so don’t need a beefier more expensive rake, although I’m sure it could handle that too.
That is awesome!
Great video as always Stan can't wait to see the other projects u got lined up
Happy Memorial Day Stan! My grandfather had a Cat similar to the old yellow one at the dealership. He let me drive it around as a kid over fifty years ago.
Very cool! I bet that was fun. and made some good memories.
Right On Time, Great Way To End The Weekend. Happy Memorial Day, God Bless Our Troops,
May Those That Paid The Ultimate Sacrifice For Our County Rest In Peace. God Bless America !!
Well said sir! God Bless each and every one of us.

I love that power rake I would love to try it out it looks like it works wonderful happy Memorial Day to you and the crew
Its a beast for sure.
Good video I would love to get one of those for grading driveways for concrete it would save so much hand raking and less tennis elbow.
Absolutely
I thought you were going to strangle the foam in that toy box. 😂 You are more patient than me. That is a good quality to have. 😊
I was very careful as thats a $75 "toy" that I didn't buy so I have to put it back carefully
We got a lot of hope for you Stan! God bless!
😂👊
Keep up the great work! Stay safe out there! Have a great day! Awesome video!
Thanks! You too!
Those guys were NOT getting up out of those chairs. 🤣
😂 Yep.
🤣
Happy Memorial Day thank you for another great video 👍
Same to you! Happy Memorial day!
Great video Stan. & got to say, I was at a Starbucks this weekend & found a raspberry lime Spindrift. Thought I would try it cause I see you drinking them. I really liked it & ordered a variety pack from Amazon.
Haha sweeet 👍
Hi Stan. I found some spindrift in a grocery store here. Tried the orange mango (liked that one) and raspberry lime (what were they thinking?) Also, I had an idea for you. A while back you did a video where you asked your guys for tips they would give to rookies for things they should look out for when snow plowing. Maybe you could do something like that for the mowing side of the business too? I’m sure I’m making all the rookie mistakes so far, including hitting a metal plate covering something for the water utility in a customer’s yard 😬. The blades took it like a champ though I was kind of surprised. Thanks for all you do, great video!
Thats an awesome idea! I just filmed one on how to run a skid steer. I think I will do one on mowing next. Thanks
Thanks for the plumber's smile Stosh. Aversion therapy as I was eating my cheese and crackers. 😁
Great video, have a great night!!!
Thank you! You too!
Nice video Stan! Ha ha ha Our Finning(cat) and Brandt(john deere) are all buggered up !!!gone are the days an ol boy walks back to a drawer and pulls out the fitting for you...... Keep up the good work!
You got that right! It just doesn't happen like that anymore.
Hey Stan, its your pal Alexander, happy Memorial Day, i truly did like that post you made on instagram, it just felt so right, i made sure o take a trip tot the local cemetery and made sure to walk the tombs trot make sure i could find soldiers with the flags and pay my respects. After that, we went to one store, got some new shirts and shorts. We had jersey mikes for dinner, i got the #13, that’s the Italian, and i get the oil and vinegar on. The side, keeps the sandwich form getting soggy. And then we ate a my aunts house, they also had jersey mikes, and then went to my uncles, had burgers and hotdogs, then a hour later after we left, we went to the local ice cream shop and i got a hot fudge Sunday, so good. Tomorrow i go mow one lawn. Then Thursday, i am going to race against the thunderstorms, i have three lawns, and i will be fishing g but i Mae sure i don’t sacrifice the quality. If I did, i opulent be cuttin. If i had to mow in the rain then i would. I don’t leave a job looking sloppy, i make sure it has the costa touch. Well Stan i must say, it is an honor to watch your video on Memorial Day, really was a treat, anyways, god bless and go get em, your pal Alexander Costa
Are you getting any new lawns this year to cut? I keep my sauce on the side as well-just so I don't have a soggy sandwich👊
@@Dirtmonkey i got one new lawn this year and then i cut that lawn and two more next week. I mow three more Allen’s Thursday, i mowed 1 lawn today, put dirt in some. Major holes in the yard, and planted grass seed, i used the technique u did from your one video a while back, really gave me the proper handle,
The cat guys were hilarious 😂 I used the manage a hydraulic hose and fitting store and that was wayyyy more complicated and took wayyyy longer than it should have. 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
agreed
Thanks Stan! Happy Memorial Day.
Same to you!
The JIC thread are the same thread of the boss-oring thread. If you need to fix something and don't have the right fitting you can use a male/male jic adapter with a o-ring on one side to act as a boss oring/jic adapter. And the case drain of the hydraulic motor should always be connected. It take the internal loss of the motor back to the tank so the motor don't blow his seal from excess pressure.
Good to know
Great video.
Damn they chewed up some nice compacted base rock
You should tell people to like and subscribe at the start of your videos. If a lot of people are like me they just forget to do it haha. Watched the video and randomly remembered to like it so went back and liked it!
Good idea. Thanks!
Nice one Stan 👍👍🏴🏴
Thanks Tony
Have you ever tried out a ruckus rake? Would love to see you test out and your thoughts about it.
Cool product. Of all your attachments, excluding standard buckets, what would you say is your most used / profitable one?
Currently I have an auger, tiller, brush mower, root grapple, chain trencher, and a jib boom.
I'm thinking about getting a dirt rake or land plane next.
Why does nobody like their own comments? Just a question, I have wondered the same thing.
The most versatile is the hydra bucket. That goes out on every job almost
@@Dirtmonkey thank you. It seems like a nice mix of rake and bucket.
I've been using my root grapple a lot for sod removal and other tasks. The grapple is super handy.
Thanks for the reply.
You have been amazing me since articulating arms on excavators for retaining walls. Keep the videos coming
Good stuff guys
The drain hose will be on top because it is an over flow. It just stops a positive pressure build up in the casing.
I hope it works up on top the way its supposed to
@@Dirtmonkey it should. If a tumbler has too much fluid in it, it overflows the top, something like that.
Yup almost like a radiator overflow
One would likely swap chain case location due to wear on the drum. Easier to see this on a power broom where the side with the drive assembly wears faster than the side without it.
Great video Stan 🇺🇲
I can't help but to look at the bars for the castors and feel that they look weak, I'd want them to be connected together with a bar as I am sure I'd bend them! Also that bar could hold a screen of lite chain to prevent forward tossing of material especially where rock or pebbles may be dislodged reducing risk!
Those front wheels are rock solid strong
There is a video of us bouncing that rake on the wheels like a low rider. At MTW. Trust me, Those wheels and Arms are Stout!
czcams.com/video/t79yWzOBmAQ/video.html
Here's the lowrider video!
the flap bar is like a snowblower:)
Yeah- that makes sense
One thing we're running into a lot on sites we're doing pavement reconstruction on is terrible base -- seems that 40+ years ago people must have thought that 4" of stone base was sufficient. So the part-solution we've been doing lately has been cement-stabilized base (soil-cement). I keep wondering if power rakes like this would be useful for doing smaller sites, but at the same time they don't seem like they'd be able to hit the depth needed.
Maybe you could rent one? see if it would work on your sites?
Hope you get a chance to compare that against a Rukus Rake. Love to see it go against one.
I don't even know what that is. Never heard of a ruckus rake
Stan the rubber flaps for sweeping pavement is better than the steel bristles and might be better for sweeping road salts out of lawns
Oh yeah! That flap thing sounds awesome actually!
Stan that will work better than a sweeper
Id like to see that in person though
There's an art to running a power rske
I think your right
@@Dirtmonkey I'm still learning. I have one on a compact tractor but skid loader with tracks be better like a dozer it it makes a flat surface pushing ahead. Pto driven it only turns one way
That wasn’t a male quick connect coupling that you picked up at the hydraulic shop but the female, you already had the make on the hose in your hand. Sold a ton of those quick couplings by Parker for skid steers I can still remember the part numbers 😂😂
Its crazy some of the things you can recall.
@@Dirtmonkey 😂😂sold a lot of skid steer quick connects what can I say
It's always best to test out new toys on your own property..lol
Totally!
Happy Monday and a great Memorial Day to you! BTW, on a side note, have your security updates worked? Hopefully no more inventory shortage.
Working. No more shortages so far👊😉
@@Dirtmonkey Great!
What going on I had a terrific holiday hope everyone did as well love the vid
Thanks brother happy to hear that 👊
Oh yeah Zeigler parts, as most parts, always there for comic relief.
😂👊
Lookin good.
Thanks
Fell out my chair when he said “chin diapers” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤟
😂👍
If your machine can swap ends that would solve the problems with hose length or other routing issues
That would have been nice but not this one
When did you record this? Walz removed the mandate like almost 3 weeks ago now
This was filmed around 2-3 weeks ago
How well can you see the edge of it I tried a cat 190 for my 299 but impossible to see how deep I was going
A minute in a already going to be a great video. Mine weekend was great I put 10 hours on the tractor and backhoe. I moved at least three tons of glacier till rocks (big round rocks). I also moved about 60 yards of dirt and a one ton rock. Just a heads up if you want some rocks let me know and I will be more than happy to give them to you. How was your weekend?
How big are those rocks? and are they all about the same size?
@@Dirtmonkey well I’ve got rocks the size of a fist all the way up to rocks close to being about 2 1/2’ to 3’ diameter rocks and I got a couple bigger ones the size of smart cars except I would never be able to move them. Most of them that we find we chuck them down a hill in the woods and try to forget about them but lucky I could get to them if anyone wants them.
Hello Good evening. Do the day going. Have a great Memorial Day.
Thank you! You too!
i wonder, could you use the power rake to resurface a dirt road in place of a grader?
Im going to try to do that
We at MTW make a 10ft wide model that's used on dirt race tracks
How much is the price difference between that cat on tracks and wheels? up front cost and cost of use and replacing or repairing?
I don't know- I don't have a cat on wheels to compare to
Nice video today
Glad you enjoyed it
Stan is the man. Were trying to build the exact same christian culture at our company and so far so good! I love how you lead your guys and stay positive through crap days. War time general Dirt Monkey
I try to Lead by example
Getting that part was a multi step quest.
took awhile but its finally here.
Do you guy use the rake in float? Why or why not? New to rakes.
At least you learn how to use an new tool on a job unlike others thinking it will just make it easier and faster on a job by just buying it. Just a question have you ever seen a (Grillo Climber 10 AWD mower) let me know what you think.
I have not seen that mower. Is it amazing or something?
@@Dirtmonkey it looks like it can handle some really tall grass without missing any and leave it looking nice without having to double or triple cut it.
love it
Thank you!
Hey where are the links to "The Wall" companies? Also any mowing videos coming? Keep up the good work.
both are coming
here to help
Hope you had an awesome Weekend Nash!
Hope your well today sir!
Going great! had fun out grading a yard and now I get to hang out with you guys! How was your weekend?
It's was good! Been teaching my group and walked at historic ft Monroe...built a sump/ drain tile today with my new trencher 😁
Best CZcams or ever
Thanks Ian! Your rock bud! Have a great memorial day
I like that they use nylon nuts
That is nice
Can you or someone else channel test all the mower spindles on a machine and track the hours to see which is best
Thats to techy for my channel. sorry
Can we see one of your coolest cars 🤔
How about in a future vid👊
Was that a secret grow room at the very beginning of the vid?
Thats my laundry room slash fish tank room for my 1700 gallon aquarium
who else thinks stan will try the flapper attachment in winter
I kind of want to
👍👊
Thanks for tuning in
Gotta break out the toys when bored lol
for sure👊
Usually if a store takes that long i have to ask the guys if they get paid by the hour.. Whatever they answer with i do a follow up with, well my guys waiting at the job are so just give me both and ill bring back the one that doesnt work.. Usually gets to the point your sick of waiting..
Nice! good way of phrasing it
Hi I woch your videos everyday tell the team I said hi and I woch thor videos everyday I love you guys I love the video
Thanks for watching! & How is your day?
Good
Is that your bird make the equipment reverse signal at 18:29?
yep
Can you grind asphalt with these
👍
Thanks!
Every little bit counts. 🥃
I’ve had an hour long dilemma at Cat with the Josh and the other parts guy over a Skid front step. (I know your pain Stan 😂)
Same shop? Man those guys are thorough there.
I’ve been there enough times in the last three years to get parts for a skid I hate as much as that old Terex Pt-50 you had.
You eventually get used to waiting an hour to get a hydraulic hose.
Paul and John sent you to Zeigler to get you and the camera out of their face for awhile. Lol
😂👊
Do yourself a favour. Download the Brennan adapters catalogue. Then you can find everything you need for adapters. From there, a GATES hose and fitting catalogue.
That might be more than I need
@@Dirtmonkey Believe it or not, it is easier. You do an equipment audit. Take 1/2 a day on your most used machines, and write down/find the common hydraulic connectors and fittings. Now keep the master list in each machine. When a hose gets cut or fragged, you have a list of exactly what you need (including the hose size and length and pressure) Now when a breakdown occurs, you call your hyd shop and they can have the hose ready to go, so you don't waste time driving down, searching and then waiting for a hose to be made. If fittings have an orientation like for a 45 degree non swivel, you can send them a pic.
Your hoses are always too short.....
case drain just takes the excess pressure off the "case" that leaks past the internal workings so the shaft seal or case doesn't explode.... usually not needed in a single motor application but should be used when its outlet is a pressure line to another motor or device.
I think this one needs it
@@Dirtmonkey I never said this didn't...
Hay Stanly do you do hydroponics
Hi man I just started watching your videos. I currently started running the business a couple of months ago. Which is Braulio Landscaping at Illinois. I know this is going to sound kind of funny but I wouldn't want to ask for an advice from a person with a lot of experience like you. I don't know if you ever had a contract sign with the project you already supposed to perform in a couple of days. But then he calls to cancel what advice would you give me that type of situation.?
They could have put some gussets on it
I suppose they could but in person this attachment is as heavy duty as any i have seen
There are some weak links. I see them.
Every tool has them. but at least this thing is built like a tank
Skid Pro blows that thing you call a power rake away looks Micky mouse
Good video just to much crack being shown!LOL
Say no to Crack!😂
Was it really 30 min or did you use that as an excuse to play with that toy?
it was longer.
Crack kills!!! C'mon man!!! jk Good vid thanx Stan!
hahaha- Gotcha!
Duluth Trading could probably fix your crack problem.
its not a problem for me- just for the people around me.😂👊
god bless all of our veterans
Well said🙏
Stan if you need more practice I'm about 4hrs away 50 miles south of fargo😃
