A friend of my dads stayed for 2 YEARS at our place while paying no bills at all, and offering no help at all, it's crazy how much these people take advantage of you when you say nothing out of courtesy.

My husband and I learned a lesson on letting friends and family stay with us. Even if it was temporarily, I lost patience letting them stay with us. Yes, I gave them a time limit on how long they could stay.

This was an interesting video on the bewares of having house guests. This is exactly why, before you let house guests stay over due to circumstances, you have them sign something stating they will only care for themselves, have to clean their own mess, not touch expensive appliances that add up in bills, get their own food, pay a huge portion for a roof over them, etc. Then there are no problems. Be the smart one, not the sucker one.

This reminds me of when my family and I used to live with our relatives as soon as we moved back from Georgia and I hated it. We stayed only temporarily until we got our house before buying the second house we lived in but we helped them out with cleaning and groceries
Well, that's good, b/c since your relatives did you a favor by taking you guys in, it was only fair that you guys return the favor by helping them out.
After all, if there's anything I've learned, it's that there's a big difference between givers & takers. Givers set boundaries & limits, while takers DON'T EVER HAVE ANY!!!

It depends on the attitude the house guests have though because they invited themselves, overstayed their welcome and behaved badly, especially Ryan. Also I feel AJ should of consulted Veronica before making that decision because after all they were newly weds and the house did belong to them both now.
