Dear Steve, you can't imagine what your music meant to me during my life. I knew Genesis in 1978 when i was fourteen and since then i never stopped listening to you, I have only a desire...i'd like to hold your hand after an italian concert. Thank you for the wonderful music you gave us.
This song, IMO is one of your greatest masterpieces. It’s a prime example of the whole “play one note and make you cry” thing that you are well known for. This song, Sierra Quemada and Tristesse are absolutely phenomenal. I absolutely love the guitar tone that you use on this album. I’m proud to be a long time fan of yours!
Of every wonderful "chat" so far, this,by far is my favorite!.I can "see" this happening to Steve,,I have been in somewhat similar circumstances ...with different outcomes...and the music...is so soothing..so pure
Very interesting anecdote. I had wondered for a long time what could have inspired this song. a beautiful song. it's very interesting how it goes from an electric guitar instrumental, to an acoustic instrumental then there's the song, and it's beautiful conclusion.... I must say I really *love* the electric guitar introduction, one of your finest moments ever, Steve ! Really. And I loved the orchestral samples of the Stepp guitar, that you also briefly used on the magnificent Momentum.
Thank you for sharing this video and story you mentioned while I listened to the beautiful music in the background, it all makes alot of sense to me right now and thanks again, sir, you are definitely a legend. 😷✌✌💕
It was so weird hearing that intro melody. It was used in a remixed version in a TUI TV commercial so I knew the melody before even hearing the original for the first time. Here it is: czcams.com/video/OPw8JWyXTys/video.html

I believe you, Steve. Sometimes breakfast is just breakfast.
Amazing where inspiration comes from Steve , your skill is translating experience to melody and lyric
Beautiful melody! Also an interesting story behind the song!

Same for me, I see you think of the same moments as me for those highlights on the electric guitar... Well, I think so.
Love it, such a beautiful song. What an interesting story. I would love to hear more about Guitar Noir, my favorite Steve Hackett album.

I've always been a huge admirer of your work including acoustic, and love this album.
All the sudden I felt like heaing a story from Stravis Hackett, taxi driver & fine guitarist... Cheers

Weird indeed. Was this commercial music created before Steve's one ?
Guitare Noir : 1993
@@59ladislas The remix seems to be from 1994, credited as made by Steve Hackett and Sonic Obsession:

Think how much trickier these videos would have been if Steve had to cue up vinyl.
