As a singer/songwriter, his talent was endless. As a man, his humility and dedication to helping others was boundless. As a husband and father, his love and loyalty was a shining example of God's angel on earth. i was new to country music when I first saw Toby on August 4, 2001 at the Brooks & Dunn Neon Circus & Wild West Show at the PNC Art Center in Holmdel, NJ. There were other performers there like Montgomery Gentry and Keith Urban. (I had gone alone and was a soggy female sitting on the wet ground under my shower curtain since umbrellas not allowed) during a raging thunderstorm) I was mesmerized and enthralled with Toby's raw voice and presence from the moment he opened his mouth. I have been an ardent fan from that fateful day. I was so pleased by his many creative years in the music business and his bevy of successful hits, videos, awards and accolades. Many may not know that he was also an engaging actor, best starring in Broken Bridges with Kelly Preston (who I am sure was pleased to see him again in heaven! ) I am now a young 75 & will continue to listen to, appreciate and miss Toby Keith till the day I die! RIP Toby, sing with the angels now and always!

Almost all of my co-workers were saddened by the news of Toby passing. I was shocked by some of them that they cared about him and knew his music. I'm happier for them for it. Toby is truly one of the very best. More importantly he is a good man and conducted himself as such. The world was better off with him in it. God Bless his family and I hope they can find peace.
I will really miss Toby. I never met him but his music really spoke to me over the years. Mockingbird, the song with his daughter, is my favorite.
