First I inventoried all parts. I set up two portable tables in the garage and reassembled all the main parts. I used this video and the instructions. I took time to make sure the assembled parts were oriented correctly. I had a concrete slab to install the shed. I set up all panels against my garage wall in the order of assembly. The walls went in pretty straight. When joining two panels, I clamped the top of both pieces with a quick release clamp. On several panels. I used a 6’ 1x4 at the seem and clamped it on top. It helped when the screwing in the lower quick screws. I then installed all side support rales. I installed the three part header on a work Ben h and attached all the small brackets making sure they were not installed right to the rail. Pay attention to the three pieces. Make sure the open rail isn’t the bottom and the two end oblong bolt holes at the bottom. I then installed the center support and all roof cross members. All bolts were left loose until
The roof panels went on. Started with the right, center, then, left. I should have installed the right first, left second and center last. The left side was tricky. I had my neighbor hold down the back left panel while I tapped the front with a wood block and dimmer mallet. I screwed all back top and front roof sections, then tightened all the bolts, screws and then screwed off all other components. I did most the install myself and used a helper for the reassembled parts. Overall I spent about 7 hours.

My dad and I just finished assembling the Suncast 7 x 10 barn door shed. Overall, I’m gonna give it four out of five stars. The directions could’ve been more clear but we got it done in about 10 hours total, start to finish. I was actually very impressed with the quality and the ease of assembly. I’m 55 years old retired contractor, my father’s 83 years old and between the two of us we got it done pretty easily. We did install a few things backwards or upside down, because the directions weren’t clear, they could have more zoom in blowups of the fine detail on how to install certain things. we installed it on a roughly level concrete slab that had a few high spots and low spots so we had to shim up the floor here and there, but I was really impressed on how easily the assembly went.

It took 8 hours but I did it myself. The key is to watch this and one more assembly video, I found the paper instructions not as helpful.
The most difficult part is figuring out the metal support beams bc none of them are labeled. That's where you want to watch one other guy's tutorial (30 min.) just to identify what they look like and where they go.
Do not use a screw driver or wrench. Get an impact drill even if you return it for your sanity. You need a 7/16" socket, and the same size ratcheting wrench to hold the other sides (11mm works fits as well).
You definitely need a 2nd person for PARTS but 90% you can do solo. A 2nd set of hands to steady and brace the walls as you connect them, and again for the roof.
And wear gloves when you're sliding the side-wall metal beams into the sides!!!
You got it. Don't pay someone to do it, you can do this.

Bought it at Costco for $1,499.99 plus tax and tbh I’m really satisfied with it! It wasn’t that bad of a build. My father in law and I managed to build it in about 6 hours, the instructions included were a little tricky but this video helped a lot. Definitely worth it, and using those black storage bins that Costco also sells is like perfection! I recommend using a drill for some parts, a ratchet, and a measuring tape to make sure you’re using the right metal pieces since they’re not marked. I see comments somewhat complaining about the roof, but if you have 2 ladders and maybe a 3rd person, then it is super easy! 8/10 on the build and 9/10 on the quality! Respect to the guys that did this alone thoe.

I started to put up one of these today. When I began putting up the walls, it was beginning to get a little windy which shut down the process immediately. I was trying to do this by myself and the wind made it impossible. It's not stable until the walls are up and the roof supports are installed. Pick a calm day!

To the guy who claims he did this in 3.5 hours you're either lying, trolling, or have experience putting together a Suncast shed like this before. Most of us are putting this type of shed together for the very first time. There is no freaking way you went step by step with the instruction manual and this video, like 95% of us did- and can claim this was a piece of cake and the rest of us are morons. There were so many little things that add up to just a complete nightmare. The biggest insult to me was the section for the roof panels that claim 5 minutes to install. It took me an eternity to get these panels on because they wouldn't line up perfectly square with each other. Also the fact that most of these parts are not labeled but the manual references them by letter is absolutely ridiculous. In the end, I have a very good looking, spacious shed that was one of the worst decisions of do-it-yourself that I've ever made in my life.

First time ever building this model from them though I build Lifetime brand sheds for people all the time. I always tell people I can build the Lifetime sheds about 5x faster than they could because I have everything memorized and don’t need to look at the instructions. Most 8x10s from lifetime take me less than 2 hours so I knew this would take longer because I knew I’d have to watch this video and look at the instructions to build it. Took 3.5 hours never having done it before. I’ve learned that when plastic sheds are having parts not line up right it’s because the foundation isn’t level. The most time consuming part was the gables because of the gaskets and putting all the screws in. Roofs didn’t have labels because they’re all the same and doesn’t matter which one goes first…

Any tips to get the last roof panel to snap in? The front of it snaps in but somehow the rear of the roof panel is too far left when looking from the door. It is jammed against the center panel as tight as it can but it's not even close. The right and center panels seem properly aligned at the front and back so I don't see how I can make it fit.

I loosened the brackets on the back left side and had a friend hold down the back panel while I tapped the front of the left roof with a block of wood and rubber mallet. I then went inside and screwed the back upper screws while my neighbor put downward pressure on the back left roof panel.

The wooden platform measurements don't add up to 130" they add up to 128.325". So I guess I have to open the box and get the floor panels and line up the holes? Great!

    • @fueyou
      @fueyou Před rokem

Yeah, I found the same problem - after I built the platform. The indentations where the lag bolts are supposed to go don’t line up either. The spacing for them is 37.75” O.C, and the spacing on the platform plans is 35.75 O.C. But that doesn’t really matter at this point because they didn’t include the door guide - STEP 1 - in any of the unlabeled boxes. So. Much. Fun.

Bolt jj for the floor is in the window kit and so is the driver and pp bolt for the door is also in the window kit . This would be a lot easier if the bags were better labeled and in the door kit instead .

To start with i got two french install manuals, and one in Spanish.
Only thing that was labeled were the panels.
Non of the brackets, screws, or bolts.
Talking about bracket half of the pre drilled holes for the screws didn't line up.

But it’s a solid shed just poor instructions on the video and the paper work. It took maybe 4 half days. Sitting in it right now. Hopefully the 1599 my wife and I paid is worth it. Cuz I ain’t returning this thing to Costco.

The outlook is great but the installation is so much headache. It looks so easy from
Video or manual. In reality The big panels deform and accumulated stack up tolerances from so many parts makes the screw holes supposed to be aligned between panels NOT align at all and the panels interface to each other. After 2-3 weekend We’ve use our all energy and patience to put all ceiling panels on but no way to screw the ceiling to the side panel as the design screw holes all Mis-aligned and no way to push them
Together. This is a waste of ~2000 bucks. mission impossible. If I could choose one more
