I love new tech but these are completely pointless...what problems do they solve and what do they add?
@@dagnut the problem of what this tool solved is a problem with high-performance sound systems like those used in big clubs or festivals in combination with turntables and dvs-vinyls. these sound systems generate extreme vibrations which make the signal quality unusable for controlling the software. and there are a bunch of dj's which loves to use turntables instead of cdjs or similar all-digital controllers. for sure there are a few controllers which can reproduce the feeling of a real turntable like the rane dj twelve or the denon dj sc5000m prime but some dj's (like me) prefere the real turntables. also these controllers aren't compatible with every software. for example the rane twelf is only compatible with Serato Dj. some djs prefer record-box dj or Traktor dj. Thhis tool from MWM is compatible to a bunch of dj-softwares. recordbox, serato and traktor are 3 examples. there are a few more dj softwares on the compatibility list
@@KfzmChris I get that but why wouldn't you jsut use needles and a time coded recorded if you want vinyl feel? I played don vinyl for years in the 90s and vibrations have always been an issue

this makes this so much easier for a DJ on tour not worrying about some clubs messed up equipment . As long as the turntables turn and you got your VirtualDJ software. good to go.

Between Phase and the Rane Twelve, it's about damn time companies attempt to keep the feel of turntables we all love and try to eliminate some of the issues with needles and warping vinyl.

itimmy101 I look at as let the younger generation learn that the Mecca of house music is Chicago, where it all started, and for them to hear the sound of my hometown of Chicago. Grant it I’m 33 but I grew up listening to this on the radio from WTKE, WBMX, WGCI and WBBM. I still listen to all of the old Chicago house mixes and I’m glad younger kids are finding these old records. I embrace it and I’m glad they are recognizing it.

I never said these guys aren't skilled or talented or that they haven't clearly put in hundreds or more hours of practice - you don't cut that fast or technical without skill and practice. I like the idea. The fact you can still use your tonearm unlike the new RANE 73 which is a complete controller I do not see the point of them. Any wannabe DJ has to learn how to play with cartridges and it takes skill to dominate mixing with a needle let alone juggling...with these technology it just makes the bedroom dj even more lazier...
Totally agree, i think every person who wants to become a dj should be encouraged to start on proper decks.
but first they should spend some years mining the precious metals to build the turntables and then study rotational physics.
