  • The treatments for varicose veins include sclerotherapy, ultrasound guided sclerotherapy, endovenous laser ablation, radiofrequency ablation, and VenaSeal medical glue. For a long time, there was only one way to reduce varicose veins, a procedure known as stripping. It involved surgery to remove the problem section of the vein and tying off the ends. But the pitfalls of vein stripping surgery were an overnight hospital stay, potential complications from general anaesthesia and invasive surgery, scars on the legs, and a high rate of recurrence (veins coming back). Thankfully, there are much better options today that are non-invasive.

Does this treatment work? If u have sfj reflux and femoral vein reflux is it worth treating the superficial or will it make things worse?

I underwent a FULL Endovenous Duplex Vein Mapping Scan and had Endovenous Laser Ablation Therapy (EVLT) together with Transluminal Occlusion of four incompetent Perforator veins (TRLOP) followed after the necessary eight week gap by Ultrasound Foam Guided Sclerotherapy. All done at a specialist vein clinic in London Bond Street in 2018 and I haven’t looked back since.

I’m from England and I did not need a referral from my GP, I did it all myself and had successful treatment at a clinic in London in 2018. Best thing I ever did.

@@jeremyespencerin the UK our NHS does not employ the vein specialists (Phlebologist) capable of carrying out this treatment so I doubt it. I have been through it all and it was worth every penny.
