      @fallen4life080 Před 8 lety +11

      Rawk4Life So? That's every post season. they always talk about previous/or current year's dominance because it's still relevant. The Royals were on fire in 2014 and were shut down by bumgarner....you cant help but bring it up again when the SAME team royals is out there without their nemesis on the mound against them.
      It also doesnt have to be relevant, did you count how many times they referenced Jeter in relation to Escobar at short? its just baseball talk.

      Revision Stop hating Joe Buck. He said the Royals are one of the best teams he's ever covered and had nothing but great things to say about them. Where do people get the idea that he hates every team out there except he cardinals? People are stuck in some delusion where Joe Buck is complete garbage when in reality he's a solid announcer.

    These Royals are the perfect embodiment of 'The Whole is Greater than the Sum of its Parts'......Fans of every opponent looked at the numbers and figured they'd beat KC.....Oddsmakers and bettors had KC as the underdog in nearly every postseason game.....On paper they looked beatable,...but on the field, an entirely different picture emerged,...and this KC Royals team, as they did in last year's playoffs,.....shocked the sports world and gained the respect and awe of all who witnessed their triumphs!

      Obviously they got the great bullpen and the defense but the things that get overlooked is that their starting pitching steps up in the postseason and I think they got the best lineup in all of baseball cause they have the only lineup where every hitter has a good AB

    • @hailthechief2
      @hailthechief2 Před 8 lety +3

      +Ryan Hardison Zobrist made that lineup the most ridiculous in the league. Sure you could say the Jays had the most "Dangerous" by shear power, but the Royals nearly all year have been that team that just piles together hits and uses their baserunning to decimate teams. Remember at the All Star break how many Royals were voted in? A lot of other fans had major problems with the voting (ok I can see it) but when you look at defense and offense, the Royals are one of the most stacked teams I could imagine, they just don't hit many homeruns in comparison with other AL teams. They just put guys in posistion to score and drive them in, so there is no real difference except they take that objective over power and replace it with defense and speed.

      Remember the people scoffing at how the Royals fans basically voted in the entire Royals team for the All Star Game?
      I can't remember a team with more All Stars on it, and yet they still won. I agree Infante had no place on the team besides a defensive sub, but I would still take the entire Royals defense and offense in the All Star Game along with the great pitchers from the AL and they would still probably win.

    I understand where Harvey was coming from...pure adrenaline wanting to finish the game. When your adrenaline is rushing you think you're invincible.

    To me, a lot of this game hinges on the 6th inning, where the Mets had the bases loaded no outs and got one run, and so still keeping this game in reach for the Royals. Cain and Hosmer's at bats in the 9th were pretty much what won this game. Grinded it out and waited for a chance.

    • @Rawk4Life
      @Rawk4Life Před 8 lety +3

      I think Matt Harvey proved something in this year's World Series. He underestimated the one team that are masters at making comebacks (the Kansas City Royals), and should have not been so eager to go back to the mound for the 9th inning. He must have kicked himself for thinking he could pull a Madison Bumgarner against them.

    Duda literally cost his team the world series. That was a routine throw home that would've nailed Hosmer at the plate. Hosmer would've been out by a couple feet at least. If the Mets win game 5, they would've had the momentum to take it all the way to game 7 and win it all. I'm not sure why nobody talks about Duda's error...it's akin to Buckner's error for the Red Sox back in the day.
