A house with character, color, personality, soul, a beautiful garden and a wonderful view, also wonderful owners .......love it....could definitely live there..
It is lovely, and the floorplan is fantastic, but it left me a little cold. Lacks warmth.

A lovely home with such glorious views. I really like the layout and choice of furniture and artwork; a nice balance of vibrant colour and warmth mixed with some softer tones, against the harder looking grey, rendered features of the house. The huge attic space was a real surprise behind that closet door!

Having lived in a small apartment, then in an average-sized house, and now in a big house, I couldn't agree more!
The bigger it is, the more cleaning it needs (or the more you have to spend on a cleaner). I prefer to save my time and money to explore the world, which makes me happier.

Of all the homes they considered, there were several I would have picked over this one. it's nice. I don't like the colors. Mix of too many colors and then a sudden pattern, does not work for me. But there were some homes that were simply amazing. picking the home of the year based on the view seems an odd standard. The home should be the consideration. It's a nice place. But certainly not my favorite.
I agree with you , I watch a lot of home shows and it's always about the view . Personally the view isn't the main thing for me! I certainly don't think this is the best house in Scotland. I live in Aberdeen, Scotland and there are far better ones in our westend ( posh part) lol x

I would have hated if it was my house for those three to have come into such a beautiful house and critique it like they did. The house is flawless and the decor is absolutely wonderful. The couple that build the house deserve the highest praise.Some people are just extremely jealous of other people’s achievements and just wear me down. It’s by far the most attractive and attention to detail house I have ever seen. Well done.

I agree. Buying a book based on a the spine cover is a no go. Loses all sense of meaning when reading is for educational purposes and not cosmetics.

I think people who do this don’t buy them according to color; they get rid of all books in accordance with the kon marie method (keeping only favorites) and then arrange what they have. I have loads of books all sizes and some antique too, not for me. I live in Scandinavia and saw this ”modern” trend take over years ago. Today most people don’t have lots of books, read from kindler or other reading pads, and here’s the weird bit: they’ll use really expensive wallpaper of old books on shelves on a feature wall.

I’m sorry but . . . as undeniably beautiful as a house as this is, it doesn’t really seem to fit the cultural or rustic character of rural Scotland . . .
I'm going to be poor my entire life. I don't even own furthiture because it's hard to move it from one crap rental to the next crap rental. Everything about me is liminal and disposable. When I watch these videos I pretty much just feel bitter and hateful. :) I've had 15 jobs, they are all the kind where you just live paycheck to paycheck. The houses around me cost between half a million dollars and upwards. On my block one house went up in price 200,000 within two years. I can only ever rent and at that I can barely afford it and the rentals suck with kids bouncing basketballs inside against shared walls. It's nice to be rich and rich deserve to be hated by the poor permanent underclass.
Why are Scots such dull decorators everywhere.
