Against the warriors without KD in 2018 he had every opportunity to close that series out but absolutely blew it. Same with the lob city clippers blowing a 3-1 lead against the rockets. He doesn’t come through when it matters the most. Maybe if he played with Kobe it would have been different but he seems to not have what it takes when everything is on the line, even when he’s healthy. I have Steph at 2nd best PG ever but it’s close between him and magic IMO. If Steph were to win one more title I think it’d be pretty clear cut that he’d be the best PG ever

-Kareem in the modern era. Can one of the greatest centers ever repeat his success?
-The ABA returns as an expansion team (ABA Upstarts? Revenge? I don't know, you pick a name). Give them Rick Barry, Billy Cunningham, Dr. J, George Gervin, and Moses Malone as their starters and let them cook.
-Bring back the starting five for the Showtime Lakers and remove all other stars (85+). If they sign them back later, whatever.

I've never seen a 2K simulation that comes close to Jordan's real numbers, even when you sim him in his era. Meanwhile, they have Lebron programmed to win everything all the time, even when you play him during his era when we know he definitely didn't win those awards. Recency bias is really bad in the 2K games.

Video Idea: Would love to see you add 3 or 4 All decades class to the modern NBA. Prob would take alot of time but make 4 custom draft classes that include the 30 best rookies from each decade. Preferably 80s, 90s, 00s, & maybe the 10s.

Obviously this is just a 2K simulation.. But I think it does go to show you that you need a TEAM built around you. I also thought that it was humorous that Craig Ehlo was on the Bulls team with Lebron.. The same Craig Ehlo that was infamous for being dropped when Jordan hit the dagger to knock the Cavs out of the playoffs.
He did not get swept by bird early nor at the peak of his career in this career swap simulation and made a whole lot of accolades.

I think the Sim makes this era and the one before harder, but I don't think it was as difficult as the 90s
Please bro the 90s was the weakest era outside of the 70s. All the talent was concentrated on one team. Scottie was the third seed without Michael and nearly made the ECF and was 3rd in MVP voting. They had three of the 5 best defenders in the league on the SAME TEAM. Sabonis couldn’t come to the NBA because he was a soviet. Len Bias died before getting to play, Magic Johnson got aids and had to leave the league and Oscar Schmit played in Spain so he could continue playing for Brazil. The top end talent of the era wasn’t even in the NBA. Now even the worst team in the league has a 20+ ppg scorer that can do things people in the 90s thought was witchcraft. The league has never been deeper, never been more talented and the only reason the 90s get remembered so favorably is because of the early days of the internet amplifying media all over the world.

The reason why the league has “better scorers” is because of a thing called pace. The late 90s/early 00s we’re the slowest paced era in history whereas now it’s the highest it’s been in a half a century

@@justsomevaseline You're not wrong, pace and three point shooting have opened up opportunities for players to put up a ton of points. I accept this but at the same time if you just watch players in the 90s compared to players today, the game has evolved so much. Pretty much every player in the league that's not a rim protecting big can put the ball on the floor and make a play. It also just makes sense that as the sport become more popular and the pool of players to recruit from grows, we're gonna get more and more talented players from all over the world.

It's crazy to think that had Lebron James been drafted in 1984 there's a chance that he could have not only played against all time greats from the past like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan as well as 90s and 2000s greats like Shaq, Kobe and Tim Duncan but he could also have played long enough to make it to the 2008 nba season at the age of 41 to play against the likes of Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and Derrick Rose. If we're really pushing it, he could've literally played an extra year at the age of 42 and played against a rookie Steph Curry and James Harden. This is insane to think about. Lebron's longevity is insane when you put this into perspective.
Labron wouldn't have the same longevity more than likely, because of the more physical play style in the 80s and not to mention the advanced medical care we have now compared to then.

You can do Zeke but in the modern era to see how he would do against todays scoring guards. I would put the older eras three point frequency up some just to attempt to keep up with the amount the more modern players shoot.

The biggest thing that can’t be put into the simulations is their mentality. How would lebron have handled the pistons and all the true centers Ewing, Robinson, Hakeem, shaq entering the league and the bigger power forwards. Would he struggle under “lebron rules” knocking him to the floor every time he drives or be able to grow through it?
