If you listen at 0:13 for a beeping noise, that tells you there is a microcontroller in this item. If someone has made a sample and they get to show it to a company, the chip inside makes all the demonstrations for the unfinished product. The whole company or the owner gets to decide if the prototype looks good to be produced/released all through stores or not. This is one of my favorite Halloween decorations, and this is a prototype. :) I don't know why they would sell it though, it's valuable.

"Stray Cat Strut" by the rockabilly band "Stray Cats" from the 1980's. This guy was sold. Seems as if the song these Gemmy cats sing is "Somebody's Watching Me", so yes, this kitty may be a rarer version. And I probably let him go for a song.
Bought one of these at walgreens back in 2008-9.....gave it to a child that cried i want it after seeing it .......kick myself today! i cant find another....threw away a dancing sleleton last year....sang super freak by rick james....was down sizing....hoping someone found it in the trash and gave him a home....god my ass is sore!
