    I find it interesting that you haven't much changed your style of play regardless of stakes or opponents. Narrowing your three-betting range is one example that comes to mind immediately, given the fact that your opponents are more experienced and have presumably researched your style of play. Respect the transparency and the story though. Certainly pretty real to see what overleverage actually looks like, and you might be doing some favors to others by showing the reality.

    Pride breaks every man. Lex O said the truest statement in his most recent vlog. He was playing a table that wasn’t good for him, as it was full of pros and he was the worst player at the table. So he got up and went to a table that catered more to his own edge.
    When you’re trying to pursue poker as a career or just a side hustle, there’s not much benefit to playing in these kind of games if you aren’t wealthy, skilled, staked, or any combination of all 3. Like really, what point does Mariano or Rampage have to prove in this game? Brad O sure isn’t trying to play in this game and I think he would survive better than Mariano and Rampage.
    I enjoy Rampage’s and Mariano’s content, but you can make plenty of content and money from players that don’t mind losing $500-1,000 a session drinking beers with you. That’s where the money is. With players that will tell you they had a good time losing money to you or with you.
    I’m a terrible poker player and I always want to be on a table of people having fun and losing money. I’ve played on tables where the entire table has more skill and/or money than myself. It wasn’t a very pleasant experience.
    I would absolutely be looking to play easier games where I can make less stressful money and have a good time. This session just didn’t seem fun. Constantly being put in tough positions for a lot of money.

    • @jjabbas9790

I love how he says I haven't showed all my sessions and just trust me I'm up $12,500.00...Uhm ok...We trust you..As a poker vlogger when your session would start going well wouldn't you start to record that session since you're gonna add the commentary after the session...I don't believe a word that half these vloggers say other than Brad Owen...So Brad Owen is struggling to be up $50k for the year but we are suppose to believe that Lex is gonna make $15k in 10 to 15 days in Vegas... Yeah ok!!

      @JT-gi8rx Před 2 lety +7

      I think both Rampage and Mariano could’ve schooled these guys. Rampage clearly just ran into a few bad coolers, otherwise he’d be way up. You’re right in that the safer bet is playing low stakes against worse players, but wrong in that Rampage and Mariano aren’t as skilled at poker as the other players here. Their main obstacle is that the other players are likely wealthy and have money to burn, so aren’t afraid to make big bets all of the time. Really tough to bluff in that situation, and tough to gauge when they’re bluffing or strong since they’ll bet big on any 2 cards because $50k for them is chump change.

    • @williamr4053
      @williamr4053 Před 2 lety +4

    My boy Ethan, some are praising your courage and a lot of people are slamming some of your questionable plays/broll management. For what it's worth I wanna chime in: you've been sunrunning more or less since Day 1 on this vlog. The variance was bound to swing back eventually (well strictly speaking, no it wasn't, but you know what I mean).
    Maybe consider that you are facing a combination of playing over your head, a bit of a downswing on variance, and (most importantly) perhaps some "chickens coming home to roost" in terms of leaks you've always had getting exposed more lately once the deck stops bailing you out in high leverage spots (and you're also leveraging yourself with much higher stakes to boot).

    I think it would be beneficial for you to come out with a vlog showing your bankroll growth and goals and such. Brad Owen did it last year and it was very beneficial for the transparency of his vlog

    The channel is actually less interesting now that you're playing out of your league, Ethan. But if others differ and it increases your viewership, more power to you-as long as you have enough viewers to punt five figures now and then. :)

  • @stevestevenstevensontheste4943

    What line were you repping with your bluff against Eli when a 3 came on the end? It was obviously heavy over-pair weighted until the river; straights, wheel aces trip up, no wonder Eli was suspicious, as your previous line turned from an over-pair to exactly 56 or a donkey 34

    Hey man great job on being successful enough to already play these stakes, you're obviously crushing it. I'm not trying to shit on you when I say this, but I would be pretty careful if I was you playing stakes this big. I'm a fan of yours and I know you're studying and working on your game, but imo you're still making enough mistakes that I don't really think you are ready to play in these games. I obviously don't know your financial situation man so maybe I am wrong but I just don't want to see you lose a bunch of money in games that might be too big for you. Again, big fan and not trying to shit on you, just don't wanna see you get burned.
