- THE BOYS ARE BACK, AND SO AM I. I’ve been meaning to get back into the groove of doing FULL covers, and what better way to do it than with a BRAND NEW Currents track?! The Death We Seek is a monster of a song, combining their catchy chorus’s that have been prevalent throughout The Way It Ends, as well as the ambience of I Let The Devil In, and of course some nice riffage and leads that could also land this song a place on The Place I Feel Safest. Such a fresh sound yet so uniquely currents, encompassing all that they excel at. Brian’s vocals are astounding on this song, and this chorus may be one of the best they’ve brought to the table thus far. Super excited to finally hear new music from them, and can’t wait to see what else they have in store for us.
I put a lot of effort into this one, double tracked it and everything, messed around with some new video quality foreign to my full covers, so let me know what you guys think and any criticism going forward.
I used the Neural DSP Archetype Gojira for this one, gotta love that pitch shift haha absolutely came in handy on this song for that tappy lead in the verses.

Great job on the cover as always. I’m always excited for new currents but you ever think you could do “I’m not waiting””Dreamer” or “Silence” I know they’re older songs but your covers are spot on 🤘🏼

And actually yea haha, that was my original plan after covering all of The Way It Ends but life kinda got in the way, I do plan on knocking out a lot of older ones leading up to the new album though! Had some requests to do a few new Miss May I tracks as well so idk what’ll come first, but they’re definitely on the list!
Btw, just uploaded a full cover for Silence! Also realized from your comment, I already covered “I’m not Waiting” almost two years ago, if ya haven’t seen it already 😂 Dreamer will probably be the next Currents cover I do, followed by Delusion most likely

Not a problem at all! And yes sir! Fortunately most of it is open chugging, and hopefully it’s pretty visible for the rest what I’m doing - also for the tapping/slide lead during the verses, I used a pedal effect to shift the pitch up an octave

What’s the tuning scale on a seven string for this song? I just bought a new seven string, and I want to make sure that Guitar Center tuned it correctly so I can play this stuff. They were shocked that I asked for double drop E😂

Bro I can’t figure out how to use pitch shift in archetype gojira, how do you do it?
So you go into the pedal, make sure dry/wet is all the way turned up to the right, the switch blade is on fatso - then open up another tuner in your daw (not the one in Gojira) and adjust the whammy pedal until you hit the right tuning that you want, using the daw or anything other tuning plug-in as a reference
