Keith's playing was so unconventional, inimitable, musical and different from any other drummer. I was lucky to see the best Keith Moon type drummer many times.
It’s hard to explain, but I really feel like he was in command- in this example - heed syncopate a triple before the down beat for a few bars, after for another few. It made it more suspenseful and entertaining- but rigid students of music thought he was falling out of time- he was in time ( Grew up next to a drum and bugle Corp competition site and they did similar stuff on purpose- hard to follow for an amateur ear)
@@christinecollins6648 With the exception of times when he was 10/10 wasted/drugged up, Moonie was always in command. He can't be imitated. Most unique drumming talent in the history of rock and roll, bar none.
This could be or close to the very first time this song was played live. If you listen to the entire show Pete introduces it as a song that they all "just feell right about" He even talks about how it's gonna be on the "new album". After it was over Pete got mad at a guy who was dancing to the song. But did invite him to later come up on the stage and dance with all of them.
can someone please explain why i must go through high school with assholes listening to "lil wang" and "young sleezy" when i could learn better things listening to this all day
Keith Moon was a great drummer, one of the best I have ever seen and heard. There is no one else like him.

This is the best live version of this song that I have heard yet.

Drums right in the front of the mix. Lets you really hear his playing.
