That's awesome!! People don't consider this at all when talking about legalization. I used to grow when I lived on the west coast, nothing huge just the 6 plants we were allowed, but since I moved back to Indiana a decade ago I can't & it's absolutely a bummer. My wife grows a small sized garden yearly so we get peppers, tomatoes, strawberries & other things we use regularly & she loves being outside after work tending her garden. In Idaho, you can cross the border to WA, OR, NV, UT, MT, or Canada to get legal weed. It's ridiculous how the party of "freedom" wants to prevent people from having the same rights as everyone else, and will gladly put them in jail for possession of a plant.

States ran by staunch republicans does this. All the other states that made that leap into legalization are enjoying massive amounts of revenue from it. No major changes either. DUI's aren't on the rise, and even the people you get your bud off the street have brought their prices down. I'm from northern Indiana. Everyone I know just buys it in Michigan and bootlegs it back. With the Ohio border now open for business, 27 of Indiana's 92 counties will border a legalized state. Kentucky will add even more in 2025. When the lost tax revenue reality finally sinks into the minds of lawmakers the law will eventually change. It might take more than a decade but it'll eventually happen. Especially once the Baby Boomer lawmakers are aged out of the statehouse and Gens X, Y, and Z are fully running things.

States that legalize marijuana for recreational use have seen a constant drain on the economy as a result from higher need for resources due to unemployment, more uninsured medical expenses, and massive more crime. Plus the inability to legally justify "under the influence" paves the way to more problems that will grow faster than a wild fire. This is a misconception. When Colorado legalized recreational - every one thought it would be a windfall. The truth is - that the extra tax revenue was barely
enough to break even - - not for the dispensary owners /sellers - - but for the state agencies that were in charge of all the regulations and new rules.
The new tax revenue had to pay for a myriad of inspectors, regulators, and enforcement personnel. Also a ton of red tape and other "permits". All it did was
increase homeless and dumb teenagers from around the country that came for the legal weed - - but soon discovered that Colorado is expensive to live in.
