Also This was the absolute dream of YS, they chose hip hop, a dead genre in their country , as the only thing in their life at the age of 14-15, This Coke studio is the result of 12-13 years of incredible struggle , 100s of mistakes( extreme Drugs abuse, falling apart with one another) , 100s of good deeds(Supporting lesser known artists, songs about political situations , raising voice against women violence) , 100s of days when it felt fame was close but then it wasn't(Burger e karachi, Maila Majnu , Karachi lingo) . They aren't perfect, they aren't 100% a role model and they always say that themselves.
Even now when you will see the BTS you will see how much skinny Anjum is (mostly naturally but also due to drugs) , However you will also see how humble he is and how much he loves his art. All of this started when Anjum and Yunus used to bunk tutions and go to Jokhay's studio as teens and record. Look at them now. They are at the top. Role models? No, Inspiration? YES.

"VINDICATIONNN" !!!! Jyoti learning from rappers and not backing down one bit from her detractors lol. Karakoram was the clear highlight for me, especially Sherry but Anjum's lyrics in this one impressed me most because he took the theme of the song and ran away with it.
Its high time that you guys start discovering more of faris shafi, gem of an artist!!
He was pretty toned down in this song. Listen to his other songs like Jawab de - amazing

Ladies, I have never commented before but I was so eagerly waiting for your reactions that I had made up my mind that I would definitely comment this time. You both have such incredible insights into the soul of this song and I adore the way you both appreciate the beauty of music and how it brings people together. I respect the fact that you are diverse enough to react to music in general and I don’t ever expect you to stick to one genre or one country of music but that’s the beauty of your reactions that even though you are a tad bit late in reacting to this song, my eyes were patiently waiting for my CZcams feed to show your take on Ye Dunya and finally I got it. Thanks for an awesome reaction. Sherry has come a long way from Fanaa in Nescafé and him and the Karakoram band mates give me hope that the future of rock music is safe in Pakistan. Both Talha Anjum and Faris Shafi killed it. The song took me back to Linkin Park and Chris Cornell days. The orchestra behind was the breath of fresh air and the way Sherry ended it with the scream and Anjum saying Mirza Ghalib’s verse about you’ve got God if you’ve got nobody else was simply ethereal and magical! Xulfi and team has done it again 👏
Very genuine reaction as always. I loved how each person was given the creative freedom to stay in his element. TA went philosophical as always, Sherry did his magic, and Faris maintained his unorthodox style. Did you guys notice how chorus says "ye dunya rukti hai kahan kisi k b lye" and Faris being Faris starts his verse with "1 minute ruki mera wait ker" 🤣🤣🤣🤣

This is the 4th time i am listening to this song, and it added a whole new dimension to my listening experiences as you guys reacted to it. The fusion of rap and rock was another feather added to the whole basket of diversified music offered by Coke Studio. I was listening to another American reaction and the guys claimed that this cannot be a live performance, well he is clearly limited in what creative and collaborative team can do. Imagine the actors and actresses who give live performances countless times with flawless perfection day after day, week after week in opera theatres. Here again Xulfi is a perfectionist who makes sure that the rehearsal is done enough to achieve that perfection which is expected from Coke Studio Fans. This is called managing the expectations, but people who have listened live performances can agree to the fact that every great artist (Mehdi Hasan, Jagjit Singh, Ghulam Ali) do stumble with Alap, Jhala and Bandish, but then they convert those mistakes into a creative stroke supported by skillful mastery of the art. Only a few die hard fans will notice such aberrations, and how that performance becomes un repeatable Classic. To Sum up I can only say that XULFI is no Steven Spielberg, but James Cameron in the making.
Anjum was on fire as always but what Karakoram's vocalist did was not expected, smoothie. obsessed literally, there are few song which force Jo to play with her eye brows and lips.
This year COKE STUDIO is on STEROIDS, seriously, like consistently producing masterpieces one after another takes much more than just professionalism. These guys have set the bar so high that I'm now wondering how they're going to surpass this masterclass next year. As Shrutz said in one of the recent videos that this season of COKE STUDIO should continue through out the year, just like her, I am also greedy now 😉🤣
Sherry Khattak your killing voice blew everything Bro. To be honest baqi bhee acha tha but comparatively kuch pheeka lga but on at every stage Sherry Khattak took this song to the extreme level. ABSOLUTELY AWESOME.

I'm blessed that I listen every kind of Music doesn't matter its Noor Jahan, Lata, Ustad Salamat Ali Mehdi Hassan , or Pakistani Pop Bands Old old Indian and Pakistani Music too, turning 48 and since my teen aga listening to different Music Bands in Pakistan. I was soooooooooooo freakin desperately waiting for this reaction. I only have 2 words for this song plus your reaction, SHOCK & AWE. Only COKE STUDIO PAKISTAN & Xulfi has the guts in the music industry to experiment with 2 rappers of different styles and blend them seamlessly with a rock band for a track like this, it is simply phenomenal. The lyrics of this song are epic and Sherry's voice is just amazing. Hats off to the entire team of Coke Studio, simply nailed it. By the way, "GARD" means "DUST". The Coke Studio songs from To Jhoom to Ye Dunya seem to have a positivity behind them. The pandemic messed with our mental health and talking about it, esp in Asian communities is not always easy. Ye Dunya focuses on faith or friendship to ease the burden whereas Tu Jhoom was embracing and accepting yourself. Enjoying this little moment in time for the music community to collectively enjoy and escape in to music

This season is dedicated to the classy artists of the Pakistan. It has been wonderful to see that they have been given their genuine style singing in this season. Pakistans hip hop has another level since 90s. This is a masterpiece really. Sherry Khatak a very versatile and pop singer has proved his place today. Talha Anjum is a fire when it goes on. Rap doesn't mean how fast you can spit the words..its about the impact of the words that you write for rap. check out the the history of rap from compton in USA to the modern rap legends like eminem, you will always find deep lessons and motivation in each line of the lyrics..and Pakistan rappers are damn good at following the suit. bohemia, talha yonus, talha anjum, eva b , faris shafi, butt brothers, ali gul pir, adil omer,young desi and the list goes on....raftaar, yo yo and badshah etc are just rapping the rap.. Damn, it's a pleasure to the ears.
You should watch Karakoram's "Kal Nahi (Live)" although this song is on their album and Nescafé Basement
But the live version will showcase their capabilities... Highly recommended!

I met sherry khatak and the drumer bilawal lahooti back in 2015 in a concert of ali azmat in karachi where they join the concert as an audience and now in 2022 i bet on that ali azmat is enjoying this song for sure. They were so consistent like on that they were trying to play guitar just on his fingers, so moral of the story is we've to see the struggle period too, they both are so passionate about music .
