I first finished playing WoC in 2022 and I liked. I liked the graphics and as far of vehicles, some of the vehicles were difficult to control at first, but then I got used to being in control.
I loved wrath of cortex as a kid but I can’t help but think the level design is really poor looking back at it. Just these big barren levels with far too much space to operate and a painfully slow running speed (I think N Sane trilogy is actually much quicker). There are specific sections of levels with good design, like the death route and the bit where you get the bonus and the death route platforms. But in every level there are just these large easy sections that feel like they were designed for 3 year olds. The level design on the original trilogy were on a far inferior console with smaller teams and they still are far better designed. I guess that’s just Travellers tales for you
Would be really cool if the community came together and remade/reimagined WoC within N sane and tweaked some things that werent amazing. Sneak shoes for example. Could be the new best version of an almost classic
@@kexdd69 precisely because they're only used three times. imagine if you got a powerup that would have some use in MOST stages. Like all other powerups for example. Also theres just not a lot of room for gameplay debth and versatility, unlike the tornado spin or belly flop upgrade

Fills me with nostalgia n joy seeing WOC on N. And it's Arctic Antics, one of my favorite levels even tho it's the first level it was one of the good ones. Would love to see a full mod w better powers/levels and difficulty tweeks it would be 🔥🔥🔥

While the effort of the maker of this mod can be appreciated, the painful sloppiness of the original level design becomes even more evident when levelled visually with the rest of the NST. WotC was a part of my childhood but it wasn't that good then, and it's not good today. Mechanic- and level design wise Crash 4 absolutely mogged this game. Still, awesome work with the mod itself!👍

It would be nice if they made a remake of this game, since I actually loved this game (if only for nostalgic purposes) My only problem would be how I liked Cortex better when he was voiced by Clancy Brown, and the remake would likely replace him with his newer voice actor.

Sane Trilogy mechanics, but Crash's hang time in the air has more weight by comparsion making those jumps feel nerve wrecking, while in WoC it's kinda floaty that feels necessary to cover your distances over a gap.
This is impressive modding, the levels in WoC are really nice but so odd, like I think this is the first level of the first warp room right? I can't remember when I played this one, probably decades ago. But who the hell picks an snow level as their first level lol
Hey man if you want you can merge my mod called N.Sane Retro on nexusmodding with this mod, if you'll ever do a full port and release. Just make sure to mention the mod in the credits if you'll ever do it. It's not an alcmod because alcmod required files to be already existent in a pak to replace them, there's no add option in the alchemist tool. so you take the pak, extract the tree file, get your pak, import the sounds file tree from a pak you've chosen, and then import the files in those trees.

Man, I don't care what anybody says, I liked WoC. Even coming back to it as an adult without nostalgia glasses, it's still a really fun Crash game.

The N.Sane Trilogy artstyle seems to fit Wrath of Cortex better than it does the PS1 trilogy.
