I remember playing the coop one night with a random and we played right to the end when you got to fight each other, the guy was waiting for me on his side while I crawled below and snuck up behind him, we grew this kind of unspoken bond and friendship going through the missions so it was weird killing him, good times though.
I remember playing split screen with my friend. There is this 1 stage that so hard, spend hours & hours on it. After complete it, we jump in joy. Man, what a good old college days.

It was my first Splinter Cell, actually, and while I can argue as long as it takes that Conviction wasn’t nearly the best in terms of gameplay (huge kudos to the Chaos Theory) I wouldn’t even dare to say that it hasn’t been the best Splinter Cell story-wise. Oh, man, I LOVE how angry Sam is in this part, I LOVE how Michael Ironside is LIVING THROUGH that pain Sam endures and I LOVE how fucking stylish that game was. It has probably the best main menu theme amongst any other games I’ve played before-because it sets that creepy thriller vibe just perfectly. It was a good game
I remember the marketing for this was basically Sam Fisher unleashed. No rules or protocol to hold him back anymore, and immediately in that first mission you get to no diff all of them lol
Though Conviction departed from the typical Splinter Cell formula it was very good and fun to play. The change in gameplay made sense given the story and we finally got to see what Sam is fully capable of when he's not holding back.
As much as i love the older Splinter Cell games, Conviction & Blacklist are my ultimate favorites. Especially blacklist. The karambit kills & the option to be non lethal or lethal was so dope.
Blacklist goes even further with all this style of killing in motion, I think John Wick 1 was heavily inspired or influence by these games as both Conviction and Blacklist were released earlier than JW1 movie

Blacklist actually brought some stealth elements back from the older games that people enjoyed. It's funny how times change. The state of modern AAA games just make us look back and realize that these games weren't bad at all.
i put 80 or so hours into this on coop and singleplayer cause it was the fun kind of stealth where you can clear a path (or even full stealth certain segment's if you try hard enough) i just hope blacklist gets a sequel with Michael Ironside voicing Sam again someday.

When you're in the dark, you are almost invisible. It's a mechanic in almost all Splinter Cell games. The older games has a light meter on the HUD that shows how visible you are in the environment. While in this game, the screen turns black and white if you're in the dark.
I like how the screen goes black and white when your in shadow and vains color in the light very nice touch to the game that im just now approaching, i miss this game.

I was genuinely surprised when critics and splinter-cell "fans" hated on this game for being too cinematic and confrontational; they wanted emphasis on stealth and sneaking that was known in the older Splinter Cell titles. But when you consider that it was one of the few stealth games of its time that put emphasis on combat, it just clicked that it was a welcome break from the monotony of stealth; that Conviction turned Sam Fisher into something much more powerful than a shadow in the night. Then again, I wasn't playing Resident Evil 6 nor the PS Vita Metal Gear Solid games, so I likely wasn't as inoculated with the generic shooter games at the time as others were.

Splinter cell is mostly a stealth series, so understandably people like this one the least. If it was different brand it would be much more succesfull

I played it about 13 years ago on a GeForce 8600GT 512MB. Extremely well optimized, and the game´s mechanics were on point.

Always lower the gamma (or brightness) in stealth games. It makes a world of difference, trust me.
