Nailed it again POC! So you were the only one who thought they could repair it. I'm not at all surprised. My neighbour dropped his Karcher floor cleaner (£240.00) and it was on its way to the tip. I intervened and repaired it in a couple of hours and gave it back to him. I've recently done his lawn raker and fridge freezer too.
If you still have this, the safety cut off switch (just below the spring you pick up at 3:40) is operated by the tang coming out of it when the cover is raised. Unfortunately it seems to fill up with debris and stop the switch catch releasing. I spent a bit of time with a vacuum cleaner and a little screwdriver cleaning the housing out to allow it to function correctly.
We like these machines we only see then with log splitter at the local Tractor Supply store and this is funny and here is why, they sale wood cutting and wood chipping machines next to 2 person canoes and paddle boats, we live in a desert land locked nearest water 63.9 miles for our location, and we have no trees rarely a giant tumble weed large enough to chip.. You have an under the bench light that is handy and we enjoyed your wheel grinder table and all. Thank you for the share, Lance & Patrick.
I haven't been around your channel for a while. Glad to see you're still tinkering with stuff. That's what helps keep you going. I really enjoy the knowledge you share that people should learn from the experienced but don't. Believe me it's very much appreciated.
Great to watch “old school” fixing of gear that merits resurrecting. I have the Dynamic H2200 S model, in as new condition. Almost identical, I’m guessing with a slightly more powerful motor. Blades look the same, too. Nice to watch the sharpening and, yes, my blades are also reversible. I would be interested to know if this 1800 shredder is still working reliably in 2021! Hello. I have an Alko Dinamic H1600 that has about the same problems. At the start, there is a noise as if touching something, and the knives think they are turning upside down, to the left. don't cut anything anymore. Do you think it's all from the capacitor or is it from the bearings?
man after my own heart,lets stick our fingers into a shredder with the power on and the safety switch bypassed what could possibly go wrong lol but missing digits aside good video
Agree. For all of the young kids watching and learning, it would have been nicer to see the power cord undone before putting hands anywhere near the blades with the cover opened. But the content and resurrection of the unit was great to see. 👍😎🇳🇿

Great video I also have a analog multimeter far easier than digital and I am in my late 40s so I was brought up in the digital age ish I also have got a Alko shredder slightly different think mine is a little bit older as it has two Aperture to put branches in all steel body made in France great bit of kit well underestimated in my opinion
Probably a H1300 or 1100 then. Same as mine, great machine. Apart from blades, the only fault I've had is replacing the bearing under the blades. An off the shelf part.
Hello, I have the same problem on this machine, but I don't see how to disassemble the casing to have access to the motor and the capacitor. It's a pity that your video does not show this step in the disassembly. Could you explain this disassembly. Thanks
I've just inherited ALKO Dynamic H 1400, it does work and shreds some what but I find I am having to force the sticks through quite far? Do you think I should try sharpening or changing the blade or are they just not very powerful in general? Thanks

the start capacitor is the most common fault,bearings on these are pretty bombproof

they work great if yours doesn't then obviously check the blades, they are reversible
