Once a year Akharas organise Jori and Gada competitions during the Naga Panchami Festival (Cobra Festival). Many Pahalavans come to take part in the competitions and onlookers attend from neighbouring villages.
Gada and Jori exercises are counted in terms of the number of hath (hands) that one is able to perform. One gada “hand” is counted as the movement from one shoulder to the other. One jori “hand” is counted as the combined swing of both right and left clubs.
The hands of the Pahalavan are glued to the Jori using a natural crushed resin.
There are four categories in the Jori swinging competitions in Varanasi.
#4- 20-22 kg each jori entry level
#3- 25-27 kg each Red Jori
#2- 29-32 kg each Green Jori
#1- 35 kg and upwards each Black Jori

I would love to go to an old style gym to train this. Which area in India has these types of gyms?
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Someday
Would it not tear his tendons
He is not going there untrained. Tendons are also trained with plyometrics and isometrics. Then again, you are at risk of injury in all sports where you use your body.
