Lyrics
We’ve got a choice but still we’d rather choose to suffer
‘Cause there’s no escape once the fuse is lit
Locked in this pantheon
Swimming with concrete shoes
The reaper comes to take the best of you
Can you see the writing on the wall?
Impermanence
There is a subtle space that we’ll all discover
‘Cause there is a seat reserved for the spirit
Passing through one by one
Riding a torpedo
We wash away into the overflow
Can you see the writing on the wall?
We’re barricaded
‘Cause nobody wants to meet their maker
The seeds are sewn then we die alone, we die alone
Eviscerated
We’re all players in a symphony
That fights against impermanence
Again and again and again
Do you really wanna live forever?
We are so lost staring into all the colour
It hurts but reality is counterfeit
We came from the beyond
Living a cameo
One final breath and then we split in two
Can you see the writing on the wall?
Even the doomed refuse
We were born to lose
Do you really wanna live forever?
‘Cause those afraid to die will never truly live
They’ll never truly live

Epitaph Records is an artist-first indie label founded in Los Angeles by Bad Religion guitarist, Brett Gurewitz. Early releases from a variety of punk heavyweights helped launch the 90s punk explosion. Along the way, Epitaph has grown and evolved creatively while sticking to its mission of helping real artists make great recordings on their own terms.

Winston is such a beast.
Totally didn't expect to see a comment from you, I like GN even more now.
always knew the tech jesus has good music taste
Wow you here bruh
Go to bed Patrick
you should hit parkway drive up and license some of their stuff for your vids, im sure they'd oblige! server upgrade collab? they run their own studios and productions, they obviously need to data hoard, it would be an aussies dream come true!!
*Absolute banger*
Love it! 🤟
Yeah
nik what happen with ur singer friend? still doing some powerful shit
React to Starset pleasee

I guess you could say Sam and Winston are.... A Match Made in Heaven
Fucking yes
They really are
Definitely.
Mad respect
new girl quote?
Can't believe I listened to an architect track before nik
That's what he wants us to believe
Who cares about Nik? 🤣
I listened the album way before everybody.

@@eduard582 did you catched it when it was released for few hours?
01:44 we no longer can enjoy our beloved “BLEAH!” But at least we got a “OOHH!” 🤘🏼
but that OHHH was heavy
what a coincidence!
I just did a BLEGH instead of that OHH in my cover.
Come watch on my channel.
Thought the same. I did The bleah has well
@@tnsmmu3269 Can u get me the link?
Winston coupled with that breakdown just rocked my world! Holy shit.
"breakdown" LOL
@@ManFromHumanity yea
@@ManFromHumanity yep

Holy Hell* :p
Winston's vocals completely change the feel of this one, best track on the entire album!
100%
ITS ABSOLUTELY INSANE!!
I shuffle between this and Discourse is Dead
But too short for me though.
Yeah this song is actually good, the others mostly suck
"‘Cause those afraid to die will never truly live" that breakdown buildup tho
FTTWTE is truly something ngl
My fav song from this album
so when the cover? n.n
Agreed my fav for certain off this record. Overall fav is royal beggars.
I don't need to be the 100th person to say how badass the breakdown in Winstons vocal part is, but is nobody else getting shivers at 1:30 ??
That one caught me totally off guard I started breaking stuff!
Sounds like Animals
Same!
No
That type of breakdown is what I've been waiting from Architects for a while and it absolutely slays in this song
Hell yess!
Forget "Animals", "Black Lungs", "Dead Butterflies" and "Meteor", THIS IS THE SINGLE THAT NEEDS RELEASE.
Too late but agreed even "Black Lungs" is great.
They save it for the full album experience
Black lungs is a banger man
Its good they kept it hidden. Hits harder that way. But it does indeed need a music video now.
The only single that really shouldn't be, is Meteor. One between Discourse is Dead, Impermanence, Little Wonder, Goliath would have been perfect as a single.
Omg Winston’s is a beast my fav song for now
If Architects and Parkway Drive don't tour together and perform this song Imma rage
I'm with you
Winston smashed every window in my house with that breakdown
Don't bother to replace them, cus u will just smash them again, and again, and again, and again, and again.
@@Zadhh lol good one

Winston has such a commanding voice
ofc you can't not obey a guy that sounds like a demon
Body slammed my coffee table at the breakdown with Winston fuck
So you like parkway drive and rocket league, I see you are a man of culture
sams was better
That poor table
my room is still shaking from that Winston breakdown..
Alexa, play Impermanence “again and again and again and again and again!”
Parkway Drive - Impermanence feat Winston McCall from Architects
EDIT: Epitaph changed the title but the original upload title was 'Parkway Drive - Impermanence (feat. Winston McCall)'
HAHAHAHAHAHA
Nice joke
@@McDonskoy not a joke, just look at the title man
I dont understand bro
Try to share it on Facebook, the title still says parkway drive 😂
This song refers to the Buddhist term - impermanence. When he screams ‘again, and again, and again’, I believe he talking about souls reincarnating ‘locked in this pantheon’. When Buddha reached enlightenment, he realised that there is no core to the self, but that we are all nodes in the network of consciousness, from the same source of energy. “ we’re all players in a symphony”.
How epic would it be if Architects, WSS, BMTH and Parkway would make a heavy song together.
Agreed.
Fuck the song. Just tour together.
@@ruckus_bj they have multiple times lol, architects often perform for bmth on their tours. it’s a good two in one.
I remember in 2010 when bmth, pwd, architects and tdwp toured it was absolutely mint
A full album would be nice🤘🏽
There are not many songs with the old motive and heavy vocals on the album. This is one of them. The song is catchy. And I would like to hear it live, but I think there will be Discourse Is dead at the concert
They played it back in November at the royal albert hall
@@luisdanielbelmore-vargas4540 yes I remember. Discourse Is dead is also great for live performances. I just think they will continue to perform DD live. Well I don't mind. But I would like to hear Impermanence - it's like DD and Animals are together - sounds so amazing!
@@marinf1290 probably if they tour together we could hear it
Been listening to this song for the past 3 years& never took the time to find out whom Winston Mccall is? Parkway Drive explained it all! Badass. 😊
Since last night, ive just been listening to this again and again and again and again, AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN!!!🤘😈🤘LOL
Winston's part in this song was absolute fire. The man's growl's are sensational. Lovely dynamic with Sam's vocals. Great song!
"Those afraid to die will never truly live"
Relevant message for the present day.
It's complicated cause everybody is afraid of death after all. It's the fear of the unknown. Art in itself is an attempt to reach inmortality and to cross the borders of death, time and space. As I said, our true fear is to face what we don't know and, obviously, to dissapear forever without a single trace of our existence, which is just what is going to happen after the universe's collapse. We need to remember that we are advanced apes doomed by the weight of our consciouness and, at the same time, by our ignorance. Besides, we cannot blame people for being afraid of something natural like death.
@@nicolemagarinosbarraganes not everyone is afraid of death, including me, what are you on
@@artemis8368 First of all, I'm not on anything: I'm just saying what I think about humanity and its relationship with death. For what I have read throughout my life, I can tell you that thousands of great human minds (poets, writers, philosophers, etc) have thought deeply about this topic and they have comed to the same conclusion: death is terryfing cause it is the limit of our knowledge. If you are not afraid of death, or either you don't have a minimum of conscience or you are a superhuman (a.k.a. god, then inmortal). Prove me wrong: are you afraid of anything or do you have any phobias (spiders, darkness, flying, whatever)? That will be connected to death in the end. The ancient topic of "carpe diem", remember to live the present moment (because death is waiting for you in the end) is just an example of what I'm saying. And if there is a reason for us to appreciate so much this crazy and astounding life, is just because death is always there at our side waiting for us and dissapearence is the ultimate fear (because, you know there's no heaven, no hell, just dust after we die).
@@nicolemagarinosbarraganes we have a good idea what death is like since there was a time when we didn't exist. It's only reasonable that once the brain rot, all the things that make you yourself will no longer exist (aka your memories, your desires, your consciousness).
As someone (who i dont recall their name) said: Death will feel to us the same deep sleep does.
Not existing isn't all that terrifying to me. Of course as long as i m alive, i can be scared of pain that i may experience in my final moments, but that's irrelevant to death itself.
If you mean everyone is scared of death, in a poetic, mysterious way, and the fact that "you will never truly truly know", then fair enough i guess. Death and what "happens after" seem pretty straightforward though, especially nowadays that we know so much more about the brain.
2:37 Oh yes ♥️
this and Discoursed Is Dead are the best songs on the album without a doubt.
1:52, - Нет слов, чтобы выразить всю свою глубочайшую любовь как к этой группе, так и к данному великолепию, называющемуся «Непостоянство»❤️❤️❤️. Спасибо, огромное!
If there's one thing better than just listening, it would be to see an official video with both Winston and the Architects in it.
I'm I the only one that fucking loves his accent when he says SUFFER, in the very beginning
The melody and the ambiance in the verses makes this the standout track on this album.
Atmosphere 57/10
Winston the aussie metal god *o*
Dane Evans wants a word bruh
My two favorite screamers in one song
This can only be a masterpiece
Winston and Architects? The combo I never knew I needed in 2021! PWD is badass! So is Architects!
I love that choir backing through the track. Adds ominous vibes hardcore and I love it.
the standout track in this album, winston killed it & those breakdowns wow.
I didn't look at the title... All of a sudden I was like was that Winston????? Looked at the title and was so excited I listened to it again what a great combo
This song NEEDS a music video
Only hardcore Architects fans remember when Winston was the vocalist 😭😭😭😭😭
Good joke xDDD

really best Breakdown from the album
I needed this so bad, I feel this in my soul, that breakdown
Chester vibes when he sings" concrete shoes" and "best of you". Love it
i think the sameeee, i'm not the only one hahahaha
winston is so amazing
Dan Searle, you are a fucking legend. Honestly you wrote and produced most of this album my dude you're an absolute god of metalcore. Much love.
You can really feel Josh's influence in this. It felt like a Sylosis song !
Best song on the album.
I think i’ve found my favorite, this absolutely deserves to be a single! By the way the entire album is impressive, it exceeded my expectations
Its like hearing the Mona Lisa
Good lord, Winston never fails to deliver.
Winston McCall 🤘
This song is incredible.
Winton got so much power in his voice
Best 2 metalcore vocalist of the moment together. What a time to be alife.
Is winston really even a metalcore vocalist anymore?
Wow , this is so , like, im speechless. This is epic. This is so. Amazing. Fleshy, and perfectly sewn together. Orgasmic in the ears. I love y'all sound !!
One of the best off the album. Winston really made it a banger
I thought in the Abbey Road version he adds saying 'impermanence' just after the first verse BUT NO i gave this another listen and sure enough, right in the back, it's in this version too! That's super cool! Give it a listen yourself! 0:36 :)
Edit: I guess that was the subtle space that i discovered ;)
Winston’s voice is unmistakable
This song is such a banger damn!🔥
They changed it 🤣 I was confused at first, ok so this song is the real deal. It so impactful, the lyrics, the message, reminds me of Mortal After All, but also the vocals left me speechless. This is an otherworldly album👽
Winston MONSTER!!
Winston is the goat
This is such such a hard song but so beautiful at the same time.
My favorite song of FTTWTE.
This whole song is amazing but my favorite part is that choir in the background or whatever it actually is. You can really hear it at 3:35 Sounds so good! Epic and beautiful.
They bought me with Holy hell, now I'm thirsty for more!
Am I the only one that hasn't been blown away by anything off this new album? Nothing has really just hit me in the gut like past releases.
Josh middleton saving the beefy riffs for SYLOSIS
Holy sh!t, what a banger.
The lyrics are also amazing, a deep connection to the situation the world is in.
Great song
This song is amazing, i was lucky to hear this song live at graspop 2023 😍
Winston is one of my major inspirations to keep practicing my screaming.
*The Both of his Voice is Amazing*
Oh...that tickles.
Can't wait to hear that song in a concert!!!
What a fucking monster of a song they just created here, thank you Architects, sincerely
The entire song literally builds you up for Winston's part. From the beginning to 2:40... his vocals come in and I literally stop breathing and I forget I have a husband 🤣 !!!
Freaking same 😂
I .. Cant... Stop.....
Winston's part was so good that it's now officially a Parkway Drive song featuring himself 🤣
Edit: Epitaph finally fixed their mistake LOL
Time to get spotify subscription. Already 4gb spend on 144p just listening this song again and again and again and again and again.
Definitely my favourite song on the album Winston is such a beast gave me goosebumps the first time listening 🤘 would love to hear Winston sounding like this on the next parkway album.
From now on, to me, the OGH is the new BLEGH.
You can run Sam, but you can't hide.
This album has grown on me, I didn't hate when it released, but I also couldn't help but feel disappointed. Now that I've figured out which songs aren't metalcore, I don't really feel disappointed by it anymore. The only thing I dislike about it now is that there isn't enough of their new stuff lol
I keep listening for days....

That breakdown
