- In this episode we fit an inline Fuel Pressure Gauge to an MY99 WRX
Fuel Rail Pressure is extremely important in an EFI system.
A simple & great way to check & monitor Fuel Rail Pressure is to fit an Inline Fuel Pressure Gauge.
Vehicle : Subaru 1998 GF8 WRX
Engine : EJ205 - Auta a dopravní prostředky
instead of clamping the fuel line, remove the fuel pump fuse, proceed to run the engine until it dies out, and crank once more to remove pressure from the line.
Great video I might fit one in my Lotus 7 inspired Westfield restore diary.
Thanks for sharing 👍
The velocer raptors are coming !
nice video, I think I am about to install one
Thanks man for info.now I have a idea for install fuel press meter. Use inline adapter for fitting fuel press sensor.
Yeah just keep giving it more tape...
just a note, liquid filed anti-vibration gauge sometimes will leak due to high-temperature engine bay (liquid expansion with higher temp). Use a nonfilled gauge should be safer.
Perhaps if you buy a cheap one. Otherwise this is what they were originally designed for. Often in early aircraft. These gauges are filled partially with Glycerine, a liquid that's designed for temperature extremes. Liquid filled gauges are designed for direct mounting on equipment, as it compensates for vibration, corrosion and pulses.
Good god I have never seen anyone use that much Teflon tape? Bro you only need about 1-2" or a couple rotations!
overkill in the tape... 2 wraps is plenty
He did like 15 wraps!! I thought he was going to strip away the threads, when he tightened up the fitting!
What size was the t piece
Where can I get the inline adaptor?
Damn! Dude! 5min of the video is wrapping tape....
BIRDS BIRDS BIRDS!!!
Whats the size of fitting?
Have a walbro 255 LPH?
tape or locktite (thread sealer/locker) which is better?
None. You don't use anything on fuel lines.
Just to double confirm to make sure I will do this right...so the pressure gauge is place on the fuel line before the fuel rail? your confirmation much appreciated. thank you in advance
yes...before
question ......... why would I have high fp?
Ryan k to big of a pump
You dont use tape on fuel lines. Much less 100 wraps like you did.
seemed to work ..what should be used ?
I think I just inhaled some toluene because I hear birds chirping everywhere. Somebody likes to huff spray paint!
The liquid gauge is going to give a bad reading while the liquid is at engine tempiture from the liquid putting pressure on the unit
Can you please elaborate?
Atleast you still had rubber hoses to cut and not the heat shrink rubbish.
Way to much tape.
