Super cute vlog!! I've been back home to Xamar, Somalia twice already alhamdulillah. But nothing beats the awe and wonder of the first time. Im 23 now but I was only 14 then and went with just my mother which made the whole experience even more wonderous because I knew so little of the world at large so could so easily romanticise everything - even the layover at Istanbul felt magical i'll never forget that feeling. Met so much extended family I didn't know existed but once there, it was like I had known them forever and we never missed a day. Thats the Somali way of life. What a beautiful country and culture we have, bursting with potential it is still yet and far to fulfilling. But I hold so much hope. p.s Those small red cars didnt exist the first time i went there in 2015 now they take up all the streets and markets haha.. so now i wonder what Somalia's streets will look like in 2028.

I love this video I know I’m seeing this late but right now I’m in Mogadishu and I’m with my grandma too my mom has any seen her mom in 35-36 years so yeah but Malawah and chai is so good I love and eat that every morning I have been here for 5 or 4 days now and it’s so pretty mashallah But yea the sunset at the beach is amazing my mom said we are going to go to the beach next week but yeah btw did u see the statue of the man with the horse it’s so beautiful

When I go back to the states.It's going to be a very hard time not trying to speak somali and getting adjusted to seeing more white ppl Instead of somali ppl
